There are a lot of supports and resistances: sma, trends, bollingers, etc.

It closed above d/sma10, but still testing it (sma10: 1351) and walking sideways.

http://www.sierrachart.com/userimages/upload_2/1356030808176.png

Price is still unsure where to go. We got a lot of daily dojis last week. Market makes decision.

From the beginning I underestimated the power of 1310 level, as there was hard action few months earlier there.

So price is deciding whether to break this one, or 1380 - where was hard battle in July'11 and Aug'12 and week ago.

We are still waiting for bold move.

Damn, I can't wait Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

You see how lost support line is being retested. Train is leaving. Price is still retesting, but oscillators looks like already lost last hope.

Couple days ago you said 13.16 was the resistance - which we broke.

It can't be both, which one is it?

But what is TA in this poker round?

TA is a secret cheat knowledge how to pry into your opponent's cards.

It shows whole state of system consisting of all players. It shows you it in indicators. If you have eyes to see.

market looks like the old days when Bitcoinica was skinning it's costumers, is there any leverage service with enough  capital keep price within these bounds we are seeing now? The large ask wall that has been here since long, is just not worth it's money if the intent is to grab the accumulated buy orders once in a while. Likewise there is not enough spring in the buyers to just remove the ask wall at some point to make the price jump before a dump.  It looks more like price fixing or am I wrong?
Is this a fair question within you TA tread Lucif?
Walls means nothing.

The price is just an air. Price consists of superposition of participants temper.

You can see 1 million bucks from both sides of mtgox order book. Such amount of money can hit either side of market suddenly. To zero or to moon.

When wave runs, it melts walls like wax. Wave up forces bears to stop loss their position and become a bull, it also keep existing bulls with power. Wave down forces bulls to stop loss and become a bear - number of bears increase from bulls side.

The only thing is PRICE ACTION. Not trilling 20k walls here and there.

Yesterday someone trill 10k bid wall from time to time. Then his psyhics didnt withstand, he bought 6k and put 1388 ask wall - he become a bear.

This is just psyhology. And somewhat of poker round.

Longer term price will go higher. Just right now IMHO with all the bullshit going on with major btc services and vendors (also recent fails with BTCST and GLBSE)....and the late availability of the newly anticipated ASIC hardware (BFL fail). I can see many getting tired of the tons of bullshit surrounding the bitcoin economy right now. People have bills to pay and costs to recoup on hardware expenses etc.

that was the last few months after the 15.50 dump. Post wordpress (to some degree block halving) is def the largest factor in the market right now

Dont be too sure that the debacles of the past few months are "done" affecting the market. BFL is holding millions in customer funds for a product that does not exist...

Even if BFL takes all of their money (which is not going to happen anyway), I fail to see why that would be an issue for the price. People would lose the fiat/ coins that they put into it, but would just continue with the existing rigs.

or if they get their money returned they then plow it directly into Bitcoin.  remember, these are bulls essentially.

I'm curious how many paid in BTC. Now that is less BTC available on the market. That's just the other side of the coin. Recouping costs of $30k per mini rig is going to be #1 priority once people get their ASICS...i mean IF.

BY FAR most paid with cc.  Tom, i believe, said over 90-95% of his orders were with cc.  i know i paid with cc purposely so as to have a 60 d window with which to dispute in case of a problem.  i estimated over $2M orders for asic's had been placed that is locked up in preorders.  that's all bull money.

It is not all bull money.

It's all money "invested" hoping to turn a profit. No one cares which way the price goes....as long as they can profit from it.

It is all PROFIT-chasing money.

that's not true.  you and i are both miners, right?  if someone asked us if we would rather see the price of Bitcoin rise or fall while we were mining and irrespective of whether or not we are sellers of Bitcoin immediately upon being mined or are hoarders of Bitcoin after they are mined, what would our answers be?

we would/should say that we would rather see the price rise during the mining since that would guarantee us the "profits" you speak of.  a falling price would disrupt those profits.

1. I stopped mining in October 2011.
2. Well...your point is moot given not everyone is a miner.
3. Some miners sell and buy back and trade too so there is another batch you left out.
4. Profit has different time frames. Some may sell now and some later. Who is to know exactly how much. I just foresee many miners who spent a ton of cash/bitcoins buying ASIC hardware selling their produced bitcoins for fiat to recoup costs, buy more hardware to have a bigger piece of the total network hash rate, or paying bills to run the rigs.

So perhaps we are both right. I shouldn't have said "it's all profit money"....ideally I believe this but some people invest in hardware or bitcoins directly to lose money right?...lol oh waitt....nevermind. hehehe
