There is this unknown miner 19dENFt4wVwos6xtgwStA6n8bbA57WCS58 keep getting all the new blocks in the last 24h it must of got 80% of the blocks  Huh how is this possible it can’t  be just hash power surely.

Where did you get that 80% from? sorry but it makes no sense, looking at the coinbase of blocks which belong to that address you can see

Code:
- ,_b/Foundry USA Pool #dropgold/ k

So, clear as day that this address is owned by "Foundry USA Pool", now that we got that out of the way, let's examine the 80% you mentioned.

In the last 30 days, Foundry pool found 822 blocks, which is exactly 19% of the total 4,331 blocks the whole network found, so it's pretty safe to assume that they own on average 19% of all the hashrate.

Looking at today's results, Foundry found 27 blocks, which is 22% out of the 123 blocks the network found, that is 22%, which isn't far from the average 19%, it could be a bit of luck + more gears added to that pool, nothing unusual is happening here as far as I can see.

Must be a large lucky mining pool.

They have been the largest mining pool on planet earth for months.

Thank you for reaching out to us and your interest in joining the Foundry USA Pool. As much as we would love to have you join our ranks, at this time we are only working with larger operations with at least 25 PH/s.

Hello all,

let's go to the next group buy from Hashingpower.

As already requested by some forum users I put a new group buy for solo mining. Start at the earliest after the next diff reduction.

~15-18 users for each 0.01 BTC can participate. A higher number is not useful, otherwise a possible profit will be much too small.
If smaller amounts than the minimum amount are allowed in a single case, then the calculation of the rewards will be based on the amount of BTC deposited.
Hashingpower is rented on Nicehash and shot on the solo pool.
The status of the group run can be observed during the runtime via the Live View link.
Here you can see what our hashingpower is and what our highest share / bestshare is.

If a block is found, the reward will be paid out to the participants.

Lets go and let us find a block

In the past we had found 9 blocks --> 188 BTC!
Block list: 385022, 394940, 394946, 395087, 396941, 399709, 401934, 706369, 712217

Those who want to participate send their BTC to the following address 3KWE8HcunSfvfNBy3CdXZdQ2HyvierBxeT and post their participation with the following template:

Please send your coins only if there is still a place available.

Again two people have sent coins although they had no space. The effort to manage this increases and increases.
FROM NOW I CONSIDER EVERY TX SENT WITHOUT HAVING A PLACE AS MY PERSONAL DONATION.
If you are unsure, ask first!

To make it a little easier in the new year, I've decided to do the reservations differently.
In the new year there are reservations possible for people who pay for 2, 5, 10, ... block party runs in front.
If the quota is exhausted, the place will be automatically free and someone else can use the place.

Specifically, we start with the Blockparty Run 2022-1 and if someone sends 20x 0.01 BTC at the first time, he is practically permanent until the Blockparty Run 20.
If someone joins the Blockparty Run 2022-7 and sends 10x 0.01 BTC, he will be a member until Blockparty Run 17.
This simplifies the organization and places are not permanently taken by the same people, unless someone sends 50x 0.01 BTC for the 50 planned Runs.

If we should not create at the end 2022 the Runs, for which someone already paid, the last Run in 2022 all payments are used around longer to run.

Please send reservation amounts only when you read an OK from me!

Where did you get that 80% from? sorry but it makes no sense, looking at the coinbase of blocks which belong to that address you can see

They have been the largest mining pool on planet earth for months.

oh was that you that found the block with the 9 compac F's? if so, how long were you mining solo before that amazing day? that is incredible!

Yes that was me. I had been mining for a few months with the Compac F's but I was also buying / renting hashpower from Nicehash on and off during that time.

When I ran out of Nicehash's power I just kept my little USB miners on and plugging away. A few days later one of my little usb soldiers hit the lottery.

I was asleep when it happened but I had about 8.45T of USB miners all from Sidehack / Gekkoscience pointed at the pool.

I am still mining here under another btc address and I will be forever grateful to all of those that helped me along this journey.

I am truly lucky.

Hi Sledge0001!

My name is Seb and I have a mining channel on YouTube called Sebs FinTech Channel:
https://www.youtube.com/c/SebsFinTechChannel
(73k subs and 5.7M views for reference)

I'm super interested in your story of hitting a block mining on the USB miners.

I'd love to ask you a few questions about your experience hitting a block and any advice you might have for people wanting to try something similar for a video.

Please let me know if you'd be open to this. We could do it either here through text, do a voice call or video call, whatever you feel most comfortable with and you can remain as anonymous as you like Smiley

Please send me a DM if you're interested.

Best regards,
Seb

I only have Newpacs not Compacs.

i installed from that github link and it installed 4.9.2 (strange)  I'll reinstall my pi os and take it from there again.

Thanks

Any ideas please?

EDIT:  SOLVED

Not sure if it's a driver issue but I followed the instructions here https://github.com/wareck/cgminer-gekko and it worked first time.

I am happily solomining away on 4.11.1 with my windows PC but I am really struggling with getting it to work with my pi... I have bought powered USB 'hats' but it never seems to find my miners (4 x Newpacs) even with using the same powered hub that works fine with Windows.

Has anybody created a Pi image to install straight from Pi imager?

I have seen preconfigured sdcards on Ebay but for the price they are charging - I am a poor disabled student and don't think my kidneys are worth enough to cover the cost!

I have trawled this forum for suggestions but I think I just make it worse!

And does it go up or down depending on the difficulty of the red one?

You mention it works fine in windows with version 4.11.1.

4.9.2 is pretty old, maybe it doesn't support the hardware. Latest build from kano's cgminer, which supports the ferraris, is 4.12.0. It's available here: https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer

It is picking up the hub as I can plug a keyboard and mouse into it and they both work, its just not the Newpacs....

Do 1 new pac and see if it works the hub may not handle 5.

If that does not work go to the new pac thread and ask there.

Install your Pi OS (assuming Raspbian) following the normal instructions. Then you can follow these steps: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.58200639

Those will clone cgminer from github, compile it, and the version in the Ferrari thread will also find and support previous generation Gekko devices.

Many thanks, cgminer is now working.. it now won't see any of my miners. I have a high-power hub plugged into a usb3 port on the pi.

screen shot the cgminer screen so we can see it. it will give us an idea of what is wrong.
