Should I be using port 3333 or port 4334? My "Best Share" (reported by the pool) is always larger if I use the higher difficulty port, 4334. I'm running at about 15Th/s on this particular machine. Thanks

I’m planing on buying a “21 Bitcoin computer” and planing to point it to CKPool.

it's only 50gh, pretty close to nothing as far as today's mining is concerned, it will still work, but why not get a new model of those USB sticks that can hash at 20x the speed of this model? but anyway, they will still work, it's just the speed that matters.

Thanx mikeywith,

I found one cheap $80aud with the power to run will cost cents. Every share counts. But as I was doing my research. It keeps on saying it’s a dev tool not a miner.
It has a ASIC chip that will start mining on a fixed url of 21 bitcoins pool. That server is no longer active.
I was hoping that some one found a way to redirect it to another pool (CKsolo).

Is there a way to redirect or program for mining use??

Thank you for all replays.

Wikiz,

Sorry I must of hit post the same time you added your post.

I like the options you have given me. I’ll look into it.

I will leave the 21 Bitcoin computer as it looks like a waste of time.

Thank you again

Hi all,

I don’t know if this is the best place to ask. But it’s the only place I can think off.

I’m planing on buying a “21 Bitcoin computer” and planing to point it to CKPool.

Has anyone have experienced in this miner? And help or advice will be nice.

P.s Sorry ck if this question is not for this thread

Dude, there are better options. For ex the gekkoscience compac f is (with proper power and fan) 200-300GH, and also theres the futurebit apollo, which can work with a 200W psu to give 3-3.2TH (50-60x the 21 computer)

I'm not telling your option is not valid, just that if we take for example the apollo, at 3TH according to solochance thats 1 in 76 millions every block (which is near impossible ha), but with 50GH thats 1 in 4,500 millions every block (Man, you have to be super lucky)

Playing with the source code of CK pool. Working on my first experimental Bitcoin project . A clone of CK pool. This will help me get my feet wet. What file do i need to change the 0.5% for Ck pool development team to a full 1%? Also want to reduce experimental pool reward to 1%. This way we are even partners  Grin Cheesy . Joking . Just trying to learn through doing. Anyone know the locations to these two mods? Think i can figure out the rest. Got a Full Bitcoin node syncing now that the experimental pool will use  Wink Cool Grin Hit the ground running is my style
Not really the place to discuss hacking your own pool code from ckpool.

Does a pool exist with a function mentioned in my last post. A pool that we all mine together as one miner . No matter the hardware your using . Basically like CK pool but our hashing power is combined and if we get a block then the specific miners hardware gets the entire 6.25 BTC. Say this “Combined Solo Pool” is hashing away at 20 PH and we get a block. I am hashing at 6 gh and just so happened my ASIC chip was the specific one that solved the block. I would get the reward. Even with 6 GH. Does anything like this exist? Seems we would solve more blocks as one combined miner but reward the specific hardware that actually solved the block.

This is exactly what this exact pool does, we all mine together to one pool, which increases the odds of finding a block for the pool as a whole, but then only the miner who gets that lucky share will get the reward regardless of how big or small his/her hashrate was.

This is called a solo pool, which is just a replacement for the old solo mining where you had to run your own node and mine to it, mining to a solo pool saves you all that trouble, besides, having close to 100% uptime and very fast connection isn't something the average person can do/afford, which is why we use a solo pool.

The other "normal" pools work the same, it's just the payout that is different, you get paid based on the number of shares you submit (essentially your hashrate speed), there was another pool scheme (forgot the name) that had a sort of a hybrid approach, the block finder gets like 25% or something like that of the block reward, and the remaining is divided between all miners including the one that hit the block, each based on the number of shares they submitted which is sort of stupid if you ask me. Cheesy

I admire your desire to come up with a new pooling concept, but as it stands right now, everything you may think of has already been done.

Wish i could find my place in this Bitcoin world. Something worthy of a lifetime  pursuit. I had a idea last night about finding a location in the Yukon, Alaska or Northwest territories. Find a goldilocks property with a creek or stream with just the right amount of flow to power a hydro electric generator. A decent battery bank. Would start out with just enough hash power to get solo blocks but not to many to eat into off grid living power. Could scale the battery bank as new miners are added.  If i was to hit a block today on CK pool. This plan would be a reality tomorrow. Tell then it is a dream that lives in my head. Waiting for my luck to change.

Have a look here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Comparison_of_mining_pools

But this is getting way out of topic, you could start a new thread asking these things.

This thread is for solo ck, let's keep it like that.

Can it harm connecting to CKPool from Spain or is this irrelevant in terms of sending a valid Share faster!?

it should be okay.

Why could we not combine all of our hashing power to get  better odds of solving a block. Then pay out the actual specific miners hardware who solved the block. We will solve more blocks this way as a group?  Is this basically what CK pool does right? Do we all mine as one miner on CK pool.... basically ? sorry still learning . This might be a dumb question

What you're proposing is basically a normal pool. You can of course connect to one of them, there are plenty. But this one is different.

In normal pools everyone contributes their hashrates as a group, and it doesn't matter who finds the block, the reward is divided proportional to the hashrate you provided. That way you get a constant payout every day/week/month, but the payout is much smaller. There are other variations of how the reward is divided in some pools but the main idea is the same.

Now, in solo ck pool you get paid zero until you hit a block(which might never happen), in which case you get the reward plus transactions fees, minus a pool fee. The chances of finding a block solo are really small though, but the payout is much higher. Plus, it's something unique to mine your own block.

Of course everyone has different preferences, and you can try many pools for as much as you want and keep changing until you settle in whatever you want. You can even rent your hash rate in nicehash so that other people can find blocks with your miner and you get a constant payout. Some people in this forum rent a lot of hash rate from there and have found many blocks, using ck solo pool.

I think i am after a hybrid solo pool. Somewhere in between a regular pool and CK. We all hash together with massive potential thus increasing our odds but like CK pool the only one who gets the reward is the exact persons whom hardware solves the block.

With 20 PH

Someone from this hypothetical pool could get the block reward without a doubt each 71 days or sooner right?
none the less this is an idea i want to explore and attempt to implement with advise from members here

this is something that you are seeking kitkatz
its a small community of miners who are splitting rewards according you work put in

https://pool.laurentiapool.org/#/

yeah I mine there along with a few others.

If any of us hits the block I collect about 1.5 coins

another guy gets about 3.75 coins

a third guy gets about 1.2 coins
