Maybe I should send 1/2 and hold the rest  for six or seven more months.
If coins double again and we send 1/2 we could pay for the server 2 more times and still have some coin left.
It is about 0.0340 coin

Well, a good idea, I agree with that.

I was thinking somewhere someplace

I have about 0.030 btc  which we collected for this pool to help with the server.

now that coins are 23k should I send it to pay for the server?

I will be back at my trezors to look it up. In about 4 hours.

Makes sense, half and half - no doubt the latter half will be worth more when you send it

Works for me, I don't think anyone will have a problem with this wise decision, sending 50% of the funds now is a great idea, should price tank - we won't go below the upgrade requirements, if the price goes up we can pay for a few more years.

But in the end, only 1 message is realy important: "solved and confirmed"

Exactly, I know it's hard for some people to understand ( i was trying to explain this to someone else IRL a few weeks ago), the chances of finding a block are independent of everything else including how close you were to solving a block, solving 5 blocks in a row doesn't increase the chances of solving the 6th block, just like how some people are mad because some blocks are being mined empty while their transactions are stuck, they think that empty block effects the confirmation time, the whole thing is completely random so why would anyone bother unless for the sake of some research or self-learning.

10 mins has really nothing to do with the stats of your miner, unless I am missing something.

I think he was wanting his bestshare stat reset after each block was found on the network, hence the every 10 minute thing came up.

Well, I can understand that, I modifyed cgminer to do so, I called it "Bestsharreset after a new block is found"
The api got now bestshare based on the actual block and the bestever (over the time cgminer is running).

Edit:
Code:

The average time that a block is supposed to be found.

Well, I do understand he based the 10 mins based on the average block time, but this isn't really what I asked, Stavroski was asking about "this round of work", the hash which your miner tries to "brute force" isn't static throughout the block-time aka 10 mins, so whenever there is the slightest change in any of the block components, for example, a new transaction is added/removed the whole "round of work" is reset, and if Stavroski is asking about how close was he to solving a block based on the difficulty target at that given time (which is also a possibility) then this change would only happen once every 2 weeks (2016 blocks), but either way, 10 mins has really nothing to do with the stats of your miner, unless I am missing something.

Never happen. Stats would reset every 10 minutes and take too much processing for ck to mess with.

I would like to understand where do the 10 mins come from? based on this

I would like to see the best share I have submitted on this round of work. When the block is solved, be it by the solo pool or another pool, this data resets.

By "this round of work" it means the status will change every time the merkle root changes which could be every 10 seconds as opposed to 10 mins, I hope we all understand that while we all are trying to solve the same block - every one is bascailly finding a different soluation to a different "combination".

You can change your BTC address, so you have new fresh one of statistics...

I'd agree with that, but that would get very boring very quickly!
I know it's not imperative but it's just out of interest. LIke a game of bingo, you play the game, see how close you get, game ends, start afresh and so on. I dont see the point/benefit of seeing your highest share for a previous block and that being displayed. It's like hanging on to that bingo card from 3 months ago where you almost won!

With regards to the data output on the user's page:
https://solo.ckpool.org/users/1Cihg3mahU5QaQjhz8nsHHJZDQGYtTobZp

Is it possible to see the bestshare for the particular block I am working on? I like data and I would love to see how close I get, or didn't!

Thanks
Stav'
The bestshare stat shows exactly that. It resets everytime a block is found on the pool. The bestever stat is the bestshare you ever found and isn't reset.

It doesn't exactly; It shows the bestshare overall in this latest stint of trying to find a block since the last solved block. I would like to see the best share I have submitted on this round of work. When the block is solved, be it by the solo pool or another pool, this data resets.
