It's obviously sad to hear but what was the main reason you and scott decided to close Yolodice? If it's because affected your real life, what is it actually? Why don't hire more people to manage Yolodice instead suspending it? Really, yolodice is one of best dice site for me and others, and we really liked it since we saw it

Top Crypto Casino
It is unfortunate they could not keep the site operating for longer. As far as dice sites go this was my favorite.

The FAQ leaves open the possibility of selling the site. I hope somebody can come up with a good offer and continue running it. It would probably be easier to just copy it's best features but there is still some value in the YOLOdice brand that will be difficult to recreate for a new casino.

Thanks for all the warm words! What you said, and reaction of people in the Chat almost made me change my mind :-)

But seriously, I am not saying "never", so maybe YD will have it's comeback. I just don't know yet.

THANK YOU! It's really hard to express how much I will miss YD, and how much I am happy for these 4 years - it was really fun. But as I hinted in the explanation, the real-world value of coins are kind of killing the fun. Not to mention the crazy transaction fees that kill the fun completely for smaller players.

No worries, I cannot stand doing just nothing, so I'll probably come back with something new. Maybe a distributed, consensus-based, verifiable game?

Thanks again, I'll stick around!
Cheers,
Ethan

It's a real sad news, it's one less big platform for DOGE and LTC  Embarrassed
Moreover if all the oldest gambling sites close, it will remain only the newest ones, with no established trust history...
It wasn't possible to sell the platform to someone else instead?
What are the best and more similar platforms to replace Yolodice now?

This is such a big loss. You've been running one of the top 5 most popular and most stable crypto casinos in the world. Businesses in this field come and go, usually when they go it's surrounded by a cloud of doubt, accusations, sometimes hacks and scams. You kept your business out of trouble for so many years.

What can I say... congratulations and may you resurface in the crypto space with some new ideas.

First Luckybit, now YoloDice very sad year for crypto gamblers.  Sad

The crypto gambling world is moving at a faster pace now with lots of new competitor though

For us though, dice games were much more fun when the cryptocurrency world was smaller

The early years was fun. Dice was pretty much the only game that everyone will be playing when they visit a crypto gambling site but this is no longer the case now especially with alot of new sites that have those appealing slots

But this responsibility has started affecting our lives in the way we had not anticipated

Anything to do with crypto's price skyrocketing from the last 2 months? With tons of coins in the investment, thats alot of money to be responsible for which is kinda scary in some sense. Anyway Ethan and Scott goodluck on whatever thing you guys want to do after you shut down the whole operation. Probably treat yourself ( and family ) to a great resort to cool thing off

I was one of the first members to register on the site since beta and it always has been joy to play and chat at Yolodice  Sad

We will miss Yolodice for the reason that it was not only a gambling site but also an investment site. I remember it was a great help in the covid-19 lockdown and there has been no similar investment site which could be trusted.

It's been awesome 4 years (a bit more actually,
but we are suspending YOLOdice on 1st March 2021

This came as a surprise to me because I think the casino had a great and fun design. I was actually quite a fan of YOLOdice even though I lost a lot of coins there.  Cheesy

I'm sorry you're leaving. Also, I feel sorry for all the investors who (like me) failed to recoup the lost funds they invested in the LTC bankroll.

That was the saddest news of this year so far. I can understand and respect your choices Ethan and Scott. I joined YOLOdice 3 years ago, wasn't very active first but in 2020 with the lockdown and all the covid drama, the site was a partner in those bad moments for all of us. Knowing many people, winning, losing... Overall I am happy to be there as a small player, an investor and a member of this YOLOsociety. Good luck in the future, hope to see the site relaunching soon and thank you.

One question here: will you be approachable/open to sell the site or to give some consultancy for interested people who would like to become crypto gambling entrepreneur?

I can only say I am open to different possibilities. I'll stay at BT, but let's be honest - I haven't been ultra-active on the forums. I'll be reading PMs for sure, so you'll be able to reach me.

Let's also be honest about one more thing — running a site like YOLOdice is no easy task. Server security, software development, managing equivalents of millions of dollars belonging to investors and players that trust you — we've been doing our best and we've put as much effort in running this site as we could. But this responsibility has started affecting our lives in the way we had not anticipated. It's been like riding a rollercoaster sometimes. We will be more than happy to take a break, take a deep breath and maybe then come back with something new. In other words, we really need some time off. Really.

Chapeau! One of the best Dice platforms ever seen for bitcoin, really. Take some deserved rest, enjoy your revenues and we will surely see again in the future.

It's been awesome 4 years (a bit more actually,
but we are suspending YOLOdice on 1st March 2021

no, we have not been hacked ;-)

We (Ethan and Scott) have been running YOLOdice for over 4 years now. Without much exageration I can say this has been the greatest adventure we had so far in our professional life. We were lucky enough to be a part of growing cryptocurrency ecosystem from its early days, but YOLOdice was our first "real" project that put our professional experience in the cryptocurrency world.

We've witnessed the Dice Era emerging with Satoshi Dice and entering its golden-age with the dawn of Just-Dice. And I am really glad that YOLOdice could be the part of the crypto-dice world!

For us though, dice games were much more fun when the cryptocurrency world was smaller, and the coins themselves were (sort of) detached from the real-world value. Bitcoin and other coins are much more than they used to be a few years ago. Crypto is goin mainstream in a big way. Cryptocurrencies are not for geeks any more, they became the cutting edge of the future financial world.

We still think dice sites have their place in the crypto-world, so if you want to start one — don't get discouraged. Maybe it's just us that keep complaining about the world changing :-)

Really.

Anyway, I think we have achieved something great here. By "we" I mean Scott, Ethan and you — all the players, investors, moderators and supporters. Thanks for your trust, for sticking with us. These were awesome four years, really.

We are not disappearing completely, so I guess we'll see each other again!

The roadmap is:

   - till 1 March 2021 — the site is fully operational,
   - 1 — 15 March 2021 — placing bets is not possible and we expect all balance-holders to withdraw their funds,
   - after 15 March 2021 — the site will be replaced with a static page and you'll be able to reach us only via [email protected]

If you want keep your investments open as long as possible, they will still be an active part of the bankroll till 1st March. After 1st March you'll be able to close your investments and withdraw funds from YOLOdice.

If you want to close withdraw earlier, you can actually do it any time.

LTC keeps getting hit hard. Seems like everytime there is big volume on LTC, its a loss for investors.
Its just how it is, you must know by now that whatever you enter with you need to be prepared to walk away from. In the case of LTC, I don't think this is the end. With BTC attempting 50K as I type this (after already reaching this milestone) I think provides more growth not only for LTC but similar Alts, so keep HODLing.

There is a whale on LTC that keeps on increasing their LTC non-stop in yolodice Cheesy. I strongly believe if there was like this problem with the website that made gamblers cheat and win, that would be available for other coins as well, why would it be just LTC, so I do not think that is the case, but when you look at LTC and how much people lost so far, that doesn't look normal or under the correct levels of what should be possible.

People have lost 85% of their investments in few months as you can see from arisatox for example, dude wasn't even here for that long, just 4 months, and lost 85% of his investment, that number doesn't look normal at all but there is nothing out of regular in the code as far as we can see neither, it just looks pure unluckiness. So we are in a situation where numbers suggest something out of normal, but everything else proves that it is totally normal which makes people iffy about it a bit.
No, Ethan ever said that was a pure luck from gamble who won a lot. That gambler didn't cheat or there is something wrong about site. You can't always lose in gambling site and you can't always win too on there. Even though house likely always win in the end, it doesn't mean player can't win againts house. That's the risk of being investor in gambling site. Arisatox said invest what you can afford to lose, so even he lose all his investment, he would be ok.

Another big loss for Litecoin investors of 280 LTC. The site reached it's all time high profitability for all coins last year and then suddenly we started seeing huge losses and they have not been able to get back to the same level where they used to be.

opened mine 4 months or so ago and am -85% now

That’s big like -85% probably you opened at the wrong time it seems. I am down by 6% for LTC with this recent whale winning it big. Had opened 2 days back only and saw it crazy the next day that somebody was lucky enough to make it that big. I tried with LTC coin too but my luck is not that great to win such amounts.

Variance can keep hitting us bad,,, but in the end, maths and statistics prevail along with the rules of probability. This was another huge hit but I think we all have to acknowledge the risk of being part of a bankroll. Very hurtful for LTC investors especially now that price is climbing back up towards ATH. I feel for you all:(

Recent loss for investor "only" 280 LTC. We knew there was a time when LTC profit down from 9k LTC to 2.2K LTC but it bounce up to 5k LTC (4K LTC loss). Just wait patiently until it back to above 7K just like it did before.
