I have been looking into ways to stop me from gambling. On my home network, my dad runs a DNS server, sometime this week, im going to ask him to block a set of gambling sites on the DNS, so that its impossible for me to visit said websites. This is the best solution I can think of. Thanks for the advice guys! Cheesy
That's a good move but not enough you have to keep your mind busy on other things so your mind will not direct to thinking about gambling, I have seen this on other guys blocking gambling sites on their connection, only to end up going to a computer shop to open his account on gambling site and playing there, you have to stop the urge by replacing it with something worthwhile.
It's enough, he's a student and I think that's more than enough for him to make himself busy. He has said that he's still studying and that's really good on him because he can later on forget about gambling when he started focusing with his studies and finds interesting lessons there.
I guess if there's a way for him to avoid that blocking, he also has to help himself avoiding it.

For students, they can keep themselves busy by focusing on learning, if they are tired of studying and need a little entertainment, don't play gambling.
Moreover, not being over 18 years old is not a good thing to play gambling, there is still a lot of entertainment that can be obtained other than
playing gambling. I would suggest that students seek entertainment that is healthy for the body and mind, so they can focus more on studying.
Why not try playing football with friends, it's an entertaining and healthy activity.

Hey guys! I just wanted to make this post to see whether or not you think that what I do for fun has turned into a problem, let me set the scene.

I started online gambling a while ago, at first CSGO skins gambling, then crypto gambling. I havnt lost a lot yet, but I honestly think its a problem. My idea of fun nowadays is booting up NordVPN, going to Stake, depositing crypto into the website, and gambling. I spend hours gambling, I dont lose much, but I also dont win much, I split even almost every night. But its all I can think about sometimes, when Im at school I think about gambling im gonna do when I get home. But I think my gambling might get me in trouble, im not even 18 (4 years away from it) yet and its almost all I think about sometimes. Do you guys think I should make an effort to quit?
Better divert your gaming ability to crypto NFT games that will earn tokens which you can trade for future use. Don't continue yourself being drown with gambling which gaming was involved, because it's not healthy at younger age. Teenager should be responsible, and I think NFT projects is more interesting and profitable for a young person like you.

Really great that the OP himself recognize this potential problem of his. And he is looking for ways how not to get tempted. Not many youngsters can admit to themselves that they are having problem when it comes to gambling. Because if he will not address this early, there will be more problems that will arise from this possible addiction. And that would be harder to address.

This goes to show how gambling is very easy to access most of the time by underage people and the impact it does back then because even if it is only for fun in your mind the money you can get and what to buy is all sinking in your mind is all giving you an itch to really do it, but for most gamblers, they will surely not admit that they are addicted to it, so kudos to you for speaking up, but I think in time you have really get out from that situation because you have already shared this to us if you already have control over your decisions and your feelings towards gambling I really think your good to go.

Good luck, you know how to deal with your problem and with the help of your dad hopefully you're not also going to research how to unblock it.
Because there were instances in the past that there were gamblers that have blocked the casinos but later on, they have unblocked it because they can't resist on it and still wanted to gamble. I hope that you can overcome with it if you truly want to quit it for your studies.
If you are really that serious on quitting then you wouldnt be finding ways on how to play again despite of the confession that you have done with your dad.Dont tend to get engage on
things that do attached with gambling so that it wont poke out that interest you do have inside because this is something not easy if you are really that serious to quit or avoid
gambling at any cost. There are lots of activities which you can involved for you to distract yourself for you not to play and you should solve this problem as soon
as possible.

It's good for me at least you are now exposed to gambling. Since you already analyze something, then you know what to do now.

Continuing is not bad as long as you are responsible. Stopping is your choice. You can think of it on your own.
Gambling responsibly not gambling for long hours or playing more gambling than doing other more important activities in your life is very wrong and excessive.
my advice to the OP should stop because what you are doing in gambling is too excessive and if it continues like that it will be fatal for you, maybe one day you can forget everything without thinking about your rest and health which is more meaningful.

Winning or losing in gambling is meaningless if you don't enjoy a normal life like everyone else, changing it is the right choice before things get too far and more difficult to heal.

How can he realize something is now turning into bad if he will not spend time on the thing that he needs to avoid?

He needs to face it for a better decision in the future.

That statement of yours is only for those who are not into gambling yet. Different case from what OP is saying. OP knows the feeling already so that kind of statement won't work for him if OP is telling the truth about his story.

maybe if it still can not cover your addiction by doing that . You can allocate your money to other things. like trading or other investments, because actually at your age 14 and you can manage finances and be wise in thinking about the future, career, and health which is a very good thing.

you are 14 years old and as far as I know all casinos are clear in the TOS: "No persons under 18". one day the casinos will find out that you are not 18 and will block your account and it will be worse if you have won a considerable amount of money and you see your money being blocked, so stop breaking the casinos TOS and stop being in the gambling so early
Well curiosity about gambling activity makes people become paranoid about it and can't even sleep while they are new at it. I already experienced this, even when I am asleep, it will always appear and picture out the game that I gamble. If you feel that are in gambling addiction symptoms, I advise you better to seek good advice so that you will know how to balance anything, gambling, and self-management. Because gambling addiction is not a joke, it will become your life miserable if you cant stop your eagerness for it.

Yep. For easier quit you need at first to find another hobby for yourself. Even singleplayer games will be enough for the first time. In your age i played a lot in single player games, RPGs and so on. Also find for yourself some easy job to get money for girls, friends and some other things.

Gambling it's not good at all. Better steal a car from your neighbor (joke)

Gambling is not easy to stop that is why the op cam limit it by engaging in different activities after school hour.
Yes, in many cases, it is difficult to stop gambling habits. Especially when someone already gets addicted to gambling, he must have extra efforts to stop it. In my opinion, he needs supports from the close people around him, such as his parents and his friends. Also, he needs new activities that can make him busy and forget gambling. It can be sports, social activities, more school activities, or so on. These ways can optimize the chance to stop gambling.

If I am honest about it you must quit it right now, if you were older I may think about this a little bit more but since you are younger and you should not be gambling then this can become a problem, there is a reason why certain activities are restricted by age and the reason is that at such a young age not only your body but your brain has not developed enough and you will take decisions that a decade later you are going to regret, gambling is not for a person as young as you are and I think it is showing in your behavior patterns already, so do the best you can to quit while the you can.
In short, you aren't that mature enough to be aware on things around specially with gambling which is really very dangerous if you didn't let yourself get rid of it on early basis or on the time that
addiction is gradually consuming you up.

Quit while its still early but if you are aware with that addiction risk then just play for the sake of entertainment or enjoyment. If you do find out that you are already spending money which is
more that on the usual stuff or more than you could provide off then quit immediately.

Don't make the situation more worst and if you don't like to mess your life then better quit immediately.

I think you are having trouble preventing your urge to gamble. I think you should ask for help to lessen the times you gamble even if you didn't lost much or win much. Doing the same thing again and again will make your urge to gamble getting worse means you'll be gambling more compared before. Try to gamble less and divert your attention or your mind to other things except gambling.
The op needs to put his hands on something that can reduce is urge of thinking about gambling. I can see he had seen it as the only option for him to get busy with himself but due to loneliness he decided to choose gambling  which is not that bad for me. Gambling is not easy to stop that is why the op cam limit it by engaging in different activities after school hour.

It's good that you detected you have a gambling problem, when you are always thinking of it, you are like being in love with someone that you would want to see the person. Be careful with that feeling as that might lead you to a bigger problem, but it's a good thing you ask for our opinion as you will surely get the best advice from people who also experienced addiction in gambling before.

I tell you, better quit now if it's disturbing, it's not good for you and your future, you should focus on your studies and just put gambling the least priority in your life.

I will suggest you pull out of gambling as soon as you can because you are already getting addicted but it's a good thing you discover this on time and gambling is not good for your age. Try to stay away from gambling for some time I use to be an addict before but thank goodness I was able to fight it and I now gamble just for fun and I use less time to gamble now compared to then when I do spend the whole day gambling but now I stay weeks without gambling.
