Right now I'm using the Alexis HSR miner for VTC - Has anyone tried the VTC one-click miner?
is it good to mine vtc now?
are you hoping for the price rising?
actually there were a pump already, not sure it will rise soon enough

Halving coming on Dec 12

Could you please explain what "halving coming on Dec 12" means?

25 BTC per block instead of 50. In theory the VTC price should double, but since people are already mining VTC because of this , it may not reach USD$16.00

Apologies for this being slightly off topic but I'm trying to install a 2nd 1080Ti into my system and it's not working!

I'm getting 'The device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (Code 12).

I've got:-
ASRock H81 Pro BTC motherboard
4Gb RAM
2 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080Ti
Windows 10

(1st card connected to 16x slot directly on motherboard, 2nd via pcie riser)

I did a quick search on Google and it was saying to change the TOLUD setting to 3.5G but I can't find that anywhere in my bios. If I disable the first card and reboot then the second one works fine and vice versa. I set the PCIE to Gen1 whatever that means too.

Anybody got any ideas please?

i tried it on a 1080 one day, seemed legit hash speed wise, but it hung up even on stocks clocks every few hours for me.
A simple press of stop and start again would fix it, but aint nobody got time for that all day Cheesy
it did like 46mh/s compared to normally 48, so its almost as good as ccminer, just ya, not as stable in my testing Sad

MPH still reports such a low hashrate though...

Sigh.

what's the best free miner for lyra2rev2 currently?
few months ago I was using ccminer 2.2.2 cuda9 but now windows defender says its a trojan and just deletes it Cheesy

if you like tpruvot miner - try his version of ccminer 2.2.3 and 2.2.1(sometimes it more profitable, then newer versions)

any chance you could tell me the hashrates for those miners with on lyra2rev2, 1080ti ? (70% TDP and whatever clocks)

I use the latest version. 60mh/s at 70% tdp. I use +150 core.

I'm at 69.70

*** to the OP - is your FE GPU on the top or the bottom in your case? It will be best on the bottom with the Aurus on top.
Unable.  The Aorus is such a beast (3 full slots) that if I put it up top it is nearly touching the back of the FE below it.  It actually ends up being best for the Aorus to be underneath so each card ends up with a little space for air to move through.  Definitely not optimal.  Am doing the best I can with what I have.  A motherboard with better spacing would help.

On the bright side this fractal define S is a flat awesome case for air flow.  3 140mm ML140 corsair fans up front and 1 on the bottom for intake.  One up in the rear for exhaust and another 2 that exhaust air through the corsair AIO cpu cooler that mounts up top.

Installed a aorus extreme today in the system.  There is an FE in there with it.

As predictable the FE is now running hotter than it was due to now being somewhat suffocated.  What I can't figure out yet is why the FE will run 70% TDP, +250/-400 and it works.  I put those same settings on the aorus extreme and it blows up and crashes.

You would think the extreme would run better than the FE not the other way around.  Aorus has way better cooling and is running 12c cooler than the FE.  Yet it seems more finicky.

Maybe some trick to it I haven't figured out yet.

I have an EVGA FE GTX 1080 Ti and a Gigabyte Windstream GTX 1080 Ti (the cooler with 3 fans) in my personal gaming system. As far as mining goes, the FE version will do +225-250 depending on algo, while the aftermarket GPU will only do +125 without crashing. Silicone lottery as they say....

You guys crack me up Smiley

Every card has different base/boost clocks etc. from the manufacturer.
An FE card will take higher overclocks in afterburner because it's starting out at a much lower base.
And it doesn't have worse cooling, it has different cooling that is designed to move air through the case and expel it outside.
Feed it cool air and it will run cool, or feed it hot air from the auros and it will run hot

Set both cards to the defaults and then check the actual frequency of the core/mem when you are mining and you will see

My GPUs are measured from the same base clock speed... as for cooling it really depends on the quality of the cooler and the environment it's in. For 2 or more GPUs in a traditional closed case, I actually prefer a blower cooler (at least Nvidia's stock cooler is pretty good.... AMD's stock blower cooler needs improvement).  For an open frame mining rig I prefer an aftermarket cooler vs a blower cooler.

Right on all counts of course.  I figured that out eventually on my own.  It was useful to watch GPU-Z and switch back and forth with it while working on the clocks.

Have some room to improve but progress has been made:
1080TI FE
60% TDP
+165 / -400
632 sol/s
64c
4w/sol
75% fan

1080TI AORUS XTREME
70% TDP
+150 / -400
703 sol/s
54c
3.8w/sol
67% fan

What to mine needs tweaking in most cases to give you better accuracy.
They are choosing the difficulty, exchange rate, BTC value etc. based on historical data and are trying to predict future value.

You can change these easily, to try and get a better picture of what you will mine.
But, even then, the most accurate figure is going to be what the pool pays you over time, and it's going to be historical.
It is really REALLY difficult to predict the future Cheesy

Do not trust WTM anymore!!!

Seems pretty accurate to me.  Here's my VTC haul over the last 24 hours on MPH:

And the current value of VTC is:

19.7232 * $8.38 = $165.28

And here's what WTM shows with my cards:

I'd say that's pretty damn close...
