Well in todays prices the eth would be worth 61k and the btc 67k, so in april you should have invested in btc.

I think that if the Eth moves to PoS, it will be the best investment, based on the passive income that eth will bring. Bitcoin in this plan willn't bring you anything.

Bitcoin is the best option for long term holding. But Ethereum also is a very good choice. I think it's better to choose both of them Bitcoin & Ethereum. Because one way investment is very dangerous, you can lost your whole amount. So you must divided your investment into 50/50 or 60/40 & then you can hope big profits without any hard works.

You can buy also ETH and BTC. In that case your risks will be 50/50.
BTC is stabler.

I would always prefer bitcoin, it is the most reliable cryptocurrency at the moment, ethereum on the other hand does look promising and with a solid team, but it is better as a platform.
