Ethereum and NEO is really good for long term, you can try to diversify your funds, divide it to NEO and ETH. Now a very good price for both NEO and Ethereum. Both coins will remain popular for many years, but neo development is a clearer and newer coin

Well. Neo is very new project with its blockchain. If you can wait for 1 year neo is better but if you want a short term trade ethereum might be a better choice.
Neo is old enough project and now its trouble is that it is centralized by its nodes, namely, that they are all under the authority of Neo and if in the future everything will be as it should, then the price of adolescence is high enough.

to be honest, i'm one of a big fan of both. i suggest you for split your capital to both. i believe they price still will be increased.

I was buying a lot of NEO but I am going to start building a long term ONT position too. I'm not an ETH holder, I just use it to transfer tokens and invest in ICOs

I suggest you buy 50-50. Ethereum is definitely the leader was, is and will be. Ether, its infrastructure, has already occupied most of the crypto market. In the future, there is no doubt in the growth of prices. In the future, I hope that NEO will reach the level of Ethereum and its price will be 10 times more than now.
Ethereum and Neo is a good coin and has a good team behind it but for me I would go for Ethereum because I believe that developers will keep on using eth platform in coming years and even with all the negative and hacking issues that happened eth is still standing strong. But if you have extra money I would suggest to also buy neo this is also a good coin and I have seen the success of this coin late last year.
Try to buy both Ethereum and NEO. Either way, you win. And buy EOS then you will have a full portfolio of altcoins on which you can make ico.
