It's too early to judge, Simmons will be playing next season, so most likely the Nets roster will improve having a healthy Durant and Irving. Maybe thats the time the Nets will be able to successfully trade Durant and Irving especially if the Nets will become the number 1 team overall.

Ben Simmons has not played since June 2021, and I have some doubts he will perform as before as he still has mental problems. So even if Simmons plays next season, it's unlikely that his presence on the court will improve the Nets' results in any way. In addition, there is still uncertainty about whether Irving and Durant will stay on the team or not.

You have a point here. He has played that long and it will reflect in his basketball performance next season. But if the starts to play from pre-season, he has plenty of time to get into a competitive form. If both Durant and Kyrie stays, they can carry him into the playoffs. And then he can help when he is needed the most, from playoffs onwards. But that is still a big IF since we still do not know what will happen to both Durant and Kyrie. They can be traded or not, or will they perform at the best of their ability if they stay? Too many uncertainties in the Nets roster this season.

Honestly who knows.  There could easily be a situation in which they are working out a deal right now, and on the flipside it can be cold as ice.  I don't think the situation is or will be awkward at all, just normal nba business during the offseason honestly.  Ayers always say it...in the end its just a business.  So if they end up on the court together I expect them 3 to dominate a ton of games together.

That seems possible because after all, those are star players we are talking about, and who knows, after all, they haven't tried playing together yet and maybe they can somehow sync their play and become a competitive team to reach the playoffs. But this is just mere speculation because we all know that those two really want to leave the team if given a good offer. Right now, if they are still in the team, they need to start practicing how they will become effective inside the court together against their opponents who are now improved a lot since Ben Simmons was playing.

Meanwhile for the other players like Melo, they're even struggling to get a contract and if they do, it's like just a part time for them.

Well, I agree that these superstars that are also drama makers should get what they deserve if they're under a contract and they don't want to play with their current team.

But I think there are punishments already that are deductible to their salary if they refuse to play.
Yes, just like how things have been done with Simmons, not sure though if that's a rule with everyone. My opinion is to have a much strict

rules about players who will abuse his fame just to force the team to trade him. They need to be a good example. Signing a contract means

to bring all your best and not just to test if you will be fit for the system or not, the huge amount of invested money should be paid by a good

services. Sad but nothing can be done when greed for the money and fame are already inside a player's mind.
Well, they're at their prime and worth and that's why they're demanding as if they're the king and the team should cope up with them and not them coping up with the team.

As a fan, I agree that there should be a rule that will make these players know their boundaries and won't be that abusive as if they're the only choice for their current positions.

Seems like everything has been a bit calm later on the trading front. I think teams may be settling in with what they plan to enter training camp with. The season is just right around the corner so it seems like the Nets aren’t going to be making any deals that don’t interest them. We may see a KD and Kyrie team with Ben Simmons to start the year. Talk about awkward…

I think this trio combo will end in a failure. But who knows? It's time for Kyrie Irving to be serious with the game, play harder and stop his unnecessary antics if he wants a good contract after this upcoming season. The same with Ben Simmons, this might be his last chance to prove that he is still a relevant talent in the league.

Depends on how they cooperate with each other since if they continue to act like a moron and want to do stat padding just to increase their stats then they might not go anywhere. But if this trio will adjust and adopt according to what role given to them for sure they can create good chemistry then might they go to play offs next season. The only problem with Nets is their own created drama if they just set aside their pride and play as a team for sure they can compete with those contender teams.

They are still a championship contender team IMO despite of the controversy.
However, looking at the NBA Future. https://www.vegasinsider.com/nba/odds/futures/

Nets are now rank number 8 with +1600 odds, honestly, I like it as it's very attractive.
Do you think it's worth a shot?

Let's not jump the gun here. That "proposal" or I would rather call it as a rumor was already denied by Kyrie in a simple tweet. No words but a gif tipping of a hat which basically refers to "cap" meaning the report was a lie.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10045107-kyrie-irving-responds-to-rumors-he-wanted-games-limit-no-back-to-backs-in-contract

Maybe the part where he hasn't played 60 games yet for the franchise was discussed during the negotiation for his contract but it was taken out of context.

Does that mean Ric Bucher's source is wrong? He should start firing some people if he won't get a good score from them.
I still believe it could happen considering how he behaved during the Celtics, and pandemic Nets. If it ain't true then Ric Bucher gave Kyrie a good idea on what he could do with his contract.  Cheesy

Perhaps he was referring on how awkward the 3 will be in the training camp and then on the basketball court. They have all issues within themselves and amongst them, so in a sense I agree that it will be awkward. Just like Ben when he did attempt the Sixers training, just going with the motions and then have a cell phone during the practice. Again, they won't dominate if the 3 of them are not in sync, specially Durant demanding his coach to be traded and then you are going to play under him?

Too awkward.
Not just that, after all what Kevin Durant said about the management and coaches, how can they even make a good play out of their roster.
Everything might become an isolation play with KD being the offensive guy and Kyrie the same. I don't know though what Simmons would do with all that is happening in that team.
It's sucks to be part of this team, that must be what the rest of the roster be feeling right now.
Before, they are trying to force themselves to be "in" it, now they may want out.

Too awkward that we may see more drama from this diva at the start of the year, and the Nets crumbling down to the cellar in the East. And that might force the trade to whatever players the Nets will get just to rid of this toxic players hehehe.

Well, this ends the rumor regarding Kyrie not wanting to play more than 60 games. Thanks for clarifying on that part.
Maybe many are thinking that it is true because on how Kyrie played last season. He didn't play in all of their home games because of the NYC mandate and his refusal to get vaccinated for some reasons. I just hope that he will play more than 60 games this upcoming season but I'm not expecting that he will do it.

Feels kinda awkward but I'm thinking about it for quite some time already that these 3 players will play together in Nets.
No team wants to have a deal with the Nets or at least no team wants to agree in what the Nets want with them. The Nets are asking too much with other teams that caused them to refuse and make the trade void. Training Camp is coming and until now, these 3 are still in the Nets. Well, let's just hope for the best and I hope these 3 will have good chemistry if they will stay with the Nets.

He is just trying to pressure the Warriors to give him a max contract as he is part of the big 3, it's just unfortunate that his performance is not so impressive in the playoffs although they won the championship. However, in the end, it still depends on the decision of the Warriors if they will give him a max contract or not, and it's also up to Green if he will look for another team to give them what he is asking for.

If you had said Draymond Green was part of the big trio a few seasons ago, I would have certainly agreed with your statement. However, based on last season's results, Green's performance hasn't been impressive, and he's definitely not part of the big trio anymore. Maybe some will disagree with me, but it seems to me that Curry, Thompson, and Wiggins can be named as the Warriors' big trio at the moment.

Maybe his contributions is more on keeping the mentally of the players to be competitive. It's more of the intangibles for Green this season, he doesn't need to score more as there is Wiggins, but he bring the tempo, setting up the screens to free their shooters and then there is this defense of him. One thing I remember is when he stripped the ball from Jokic to seal the win for them in their series. That's Green contribution for them. So he is still part of the big 3 of the Warriors. Wiggins and Poole just make them very formidable as another set of offensive weapons, hence the 'death squad'.

End of the day, still a business to run and play. If GSW will not give him the max contract, it will be his decision to

look for other opportunities, we all know his value in building this dynasty. He might be not one of the offensive threat but with him
inside the court is something that brings confidence. He knows how to boost the intensity and he is really good at putting pressure
On both ends. But, we really don't know how the management will take his condition and if they will sign him the contract that he
is asking or they will let him go and bring someone to fill in his shoe.

Thanks for clarifying that. It is easy for us to jump the gun since this is Kyrie we are talking about. It is actually normal for him to ask this ridiculous request. I also failed to verify the rumor and just concluded it is true.

Green is still part of the big three of the warriors. It is just that his contributions cannot be recorded in the stat sheets. It is the intangibles that he keeps on contributing, that is also giving the steph and klay the space to do what they do. Otherwise, Steph would have not back his request for max.

I've read one comment on Facebook about a good proposal for all these ruckuses about the contracts of players.
Especially, Kyrie who was being discussed about his "no back-to-back games" and "below 60 games".
I was unable to get the link as there is none and cannot find it anymore to print screen it.
But it goes like "Put him in per game contract if he likes playing only as when he wants to."
If I am not mistaken, this already happened before but I cannot remember who the player was. (Cousins, Melo, or Howard?) I think it's Melo.
The NBPA will surely be unhappy if Adam Silver decides this will be the new program regarding contracts.
The circulating greed for money while being lazy is too high in this era, something must be done or this will be out of control in the future.

I think Adam Silver will really need to step up here, because this is getting out of control now. There is a power shift and power grab amongst superstar players agains the owners.

This owners are willing to pay players super max contract but expect something in return. But recently, in case of Simmons, and the Irving and now Durant, there is no assurance from this owners that this superstars will play for them until the contract expires.

Something has to be done, players can request for a trade if he does not want to play? That's really something. Simmons started it first then we now have Durant and Irving, so now the management are seeing that the players (superstars) are already abusing their right, it's not anymore favorable to the owners who invested a lot of money.
Let's not jump the gun here. That "proposal" or I would rather call it as a rumor was already denied by Kyrie in a simple tweet. No words but a gif tipping of a hat which basically refers to "cap" meaning the report was a lie.
