The latest Woj bomb is that Boston is back in the Durant sweepstakes.

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1551454984314753024?s=21&t=w1qEPWBdZ9JMV3B1ji-y5g

I don’t think it would be a good idea for Boston to get Durant but it seems like they’re always on the list of places Durant wants to play. I’m starting to think the Nets are the most likely team for Durant next season. I would like to see how a Durant and Kyrie trade would play out though.
And break the chemistry? Ouch! They just got to the Finals, that should at least mean something to the Celtics management.
Jaylen Brown will be part of the trade, that's for sure and that also maybe the best offer the Nets could get if ever they want Durant out just to end this long drama.
JB and JT may not like what will happen but the fans may want to see this. KD in green. Somehow it made me reminisce the KG era.

Not a good idea to get Durant while sacrificing the roles players, I hope they will not be greedy, they just go with the process, getting in the NBA finals is already a big success, who knows next time they will be the NBA champion. Celtics has to focus on improving their team not getting an old superstar that could already be prone to injury.

As long Tatum will stay and they will get Durant, that would make the team better I guess. Boston will not gamble if they know that would not help them, however, there's no guarantee, so just like the Nets, they are also taking the gamble if the trade will be successful.

Shams reporting this morning that the Celtics offered a package surrounding Jalen Brown for Durant, which the Nets turned down and then countered. It’s starting to look like a deal might be made this week to send Durant to Boston. I don’t know if this is a good move for the Celtics considering Brown carried them through the playoffs last year, but everyone said Tatum and Brown wouldn’t work so maybe they want to blow up that situation.

It did work though right? Brown and Tatum brought the Celtics into the finals. But I'm thinking that maybe Ainge, since GSW has already laid out the blue print and become successful with Durant, teaming up two superstars (I'm not saying that Tatum is Steph), but a franchise player + Durant might be good to win ring for Boston. So they are wiling to give up either Brown or Smart. But both of them might be a disaster though. I think if Celtics want to get Durant, they should not let both of them included in the trade. For me its better to let Smart stay with them as he anchors the defense.

Even if how good durant is but still it will not guarantee them anything. Much better if they stick with their current rooster because they already prove that their current line up is a title contender already. Maybe the one they need ti do is to learn from their past mistake made because for sure they will became more solid team since both of those guys are young.

Taking durant in exchange with Brown is totally a bad decision to do.

After having a wonderful season and reaching even the finale, I'm going to wonder what Boston Celtics will do in the new season. They were so close to win a championship after a break of so many years. However Warriors didn't let them do it. If Celtics don't make too big changes in their system I still believe that they can make it sooner or later. But their job is still going to be difficult of course. I wonder if they are thinking of changing some of the players in their roster. I hope the changes wouldn't be for their best players.
Good question.
They also have their trio consisting of Brown, Smart, and Tatum. It's just a matter of time before they take that championship. They are young, and skillful but lack experience. Now they have it, a lot of it, playoffs and Finals experience. All they need is to increase the level of intensity and add more roleplayers that will help the trio.
Plus they have a high defensive center, RWIII.
What they are missing may be a point guard, or a playmaker to avoid too many isolations plays whenever they are being cornered.
I agree with the point guard. I fantasized a veteran Jason Kidd with that team. That would be quite unstoppable in my opinion. As it is mentioned before, Celtics and Brown, Smart, and Tatum are great but young and inexperienced. They will get the experience they need in couple of seasons for sure. If they managed to keep the team together, they might do great things. In perspective, if we consider the today's superstars when they were at those Celtics' players age, we can see a huge potential. They have a very bright future.

Celtics want Durant, but Nets won't trade him without getting Marcus Smart. Celtics don't want to give Smart, which is perfectly normal. If it were me, I'd keep Marcus Smart on the team no matter what. Getting Durant is important, but keeping Smart, Brown and Tatum on the team is more important. Otherwise, they will not have a chance to win the title again. Boston's skeleton roster is very good. If they can get Durant and 2 rotation players, they will probably play the final again.

Yup! this is what I am thinking that may happen the chemistry on the Boston Celtics teams is already there, if they get to the finals without any big superstar names then I think a revision on their play style would be a good choice for them, but yeah this is surely their decision to make, if they want the championship that badly then be ready for a risky trade just to get Kevin Durant,

It's just crazy how the Celtics have all this young talent (accept maybe Horford) and went to the Finals this year, but now they're ready to blow up the team just for a chance to give Tatum and Durant a tiny window of opportunity to win a Championship.  There must be more to the story.  Brown played great so I think maybe he wants the keys to the franchise and they've already been promised to Tatum.  The Celtics had a great thing going.  The injuries to Isaiah Thomas & Gordon Hayward along with the drama from Kyrie Irving really set that franchise back.  Danny Ainge was looking like a genius up to that point.  Now it seems he's trying to salvage anything from the leftovers.

Base on the article of ESPN, here is the constructed package for the Boston Celtics.
Quote
The Celtics consider All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum off limits in any trade talks, but Boston is able to construct a package for Durant that could include Brown and as many as three unprotected first-round picks (2025, 2027 and 2029) -- and two pick swaps (2024 and 2026).
So they are including Brown in the trade deals plus some draft picks.

Durant + Tatum? I don't know if it's only me but I think they can fit with each other. Tatum is already a good passer and he showed it in the past playoffs and Durant? Nothing to say about him but he is one of the best shooters in the world. If this trade will be done, the Celtics might be the favorite in winning the championship next year. The question is, the Nets want this trade or they might add some bench players like Grant Williams or Theis or another player/s.

On the other hand because it is taking a long time for Kyrie and KD to get traded, there is also a chance that they might stay in Nets like you said though I don't think that it is a good idea for the Nets management so it would be better if they will just trade them and find another set of players and maybe rebuild.

Now that the Golden State Warriors are out of that rumored trade with Kevin Durant, and now after seeing this article, maybe Kevin Durant could fit the bill in making his way to the Boston Celtics but this is a trade for Kevin Durant, and the Brooklyn Nets want surely will want young players on the Boston Celtics side, if Kevin Durant is very much will be a fit for Jayson Tatum, I think that trade that may include future talents for the Boston Celtics will be included, and I think that is not a great deal, but maybe for the championship they can sacrifice a couple of their players for the trade of Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets,

And break the chemistry? Ouch! They just got to the Finals, that should at least mean something to the Celtics management.

Looks like a hell of a report from our very known analysts. They are following everything that will happen even the turned-down offer.
It seems a good sign though, a counter but they want Jaylen Brown. Perhaps the addition to the package was not that charming.
Celtics offered Brown partnered with White and a draft pick. (so many colors Cheesy)
Nets countered Brown including Marcus Smart and draft picks.
Celtics won't give up Smart that easily, they might be forced to take White instead and a better draft picks rank. I'd take that rather than Mitchell.

I get the whole celtics thing because that would mean that Tatum and Durant together would be a lot of profit and that makes sense, thats a team that could beat anyone in the finals, they almost did it without Durant this year, and if they add Durant to that it would be amazing. Of course, we still need to wait and see the package first.

Celtics could get Durant but they need to sacrifice plenty of players if the team wants to have Durant and Tatum to lead the team. And don't compare that roster of the Celtics that they won even without Durant because getting Durant would mean letting go of some players as it cannot be a player in exchange for a player knowing how valuable Durant is.

And adding too many reasons is how KD will adjust. When he went to GSW, it's Curry who adjusted for him. I don't see Tatum to work the

same, knowing the mamba mentality inside him, not sure if he can accept a role player for Durant, though we are all not sure what's the

management is thinking right now and how they will bring this possible trade to work in favor of another final appearance.

I don't know, Durant for Donovan would mean that Utah would not have any proper players left. They left Gobert go, they let Ingles go, and now they would lose Donovan? That would mean that Durant would have to win all their games himself. I do not see that happening at all. I get the whole celtics thing because that would mean that Tatum and Durant together would be a lot of profit and that makes sense, thats a team that could beat anyone in the finals, they almost did it without Durant this year, and if they add Durant to that it would be amazing. Teams are still still actively pursuing Durant, the last time I check is Phoenix, Heat and Utah.
Phoenix cannot afford Durant now that they resigned Ayton. Utah is still a possibility, but I doubt Durant has interest in Utah once they trade Donovan Mitchell. Miami may be the only suitor for Durant if they could get a deal done that doesn't include Jimmy Butler or Bam.

I doubt Utah wants Durant they would have to give up all the picks they just got from Minnesota.  Utah is in full tank mode trying to get as many picks as they can like okc did to start from scratch.  Durant doesn't move the needle for them they gave up once they traded gobert.

Durant for Mitchelle, is it possible? if this will happen then Utah Jazz will become a better team, they have a good scorer, a clutch one and they have a good defense, but I think the chance of this happening is very low.

About Durant getting traded to the Heat, I think Heat will lose more role players and probably one of their stars, if the Heat will choose between Butler and Bam, Bam might be put on a trade.

^^ I was surprised though about the picks that they are willing just to get Durant.

For me it doesn't make sense to have the many, it's going to be a big risk for the Celtics. Their team is already solid behind Tatum, they have reach the finals already, now they have the experience already. And it's going to be close to suicide if the trade bait is Brown and then those picks, doesn't make sense.

It will make sense if Tatum will decide to be traded and go to another team he like but this will not happen for now since I think Tatum have the same mentality with Kobe which is he want to stick with one team on his career if possible.

But for involving brown on this possible trade maybe this is bit hilarious on their side because they already prove that Brown can fit with their system so this is totally a huge risk for them if they trade the young brown which have more possibilities to dominate more than Durant which his career is almost at the peak.

I believe he will because he is the leader of the team and I believe he will value what the management did for him, he was given a good contract, so he is very motivated to win a championship. The team is still young and so as Tatum, but for sure as they continue to improve their bond, one day they win a championship.

Looks like they really want that championship and it seems like this is the only way for them to get it also Boston Celtics are not only into the vision of a championship rather, but they also making money here when they gonna acquired Kevin Durant and it seems like he still can bring big market value to the team than those players traded for him. Though Boston can go back to the finals again, they will surely struggle to win the championship because GSW is on other levels.
