West 9-10 seed
Pelicans - Lakers   - 8 (88.9%)
Pelicans - Spurs   - 1 (11.1%)
Lakers - Spurs   - 0 (0%)
Total Voters: 9

I am the only one who voted for the Spurs-Pelicans to take the last 2 slots in the play-in. I have a feeling that Lakers would continue to struggle and the Spurs will make a surprise by making it to the play-in tournament.

You are the only one who believed that it will happen but mate you are right, it could possibly happen. Lakers out in the play-in, that's so embarrassing and it's not good for the legacy of Lebron, I think Kobe had a superteam before and they struggle, but missing the playoffs, that's worst.

The Boston Celtics are the best right now and the team will face them in the first round will be in trouble since this team has been doing so well that they cannot stop winning in their 6th straight game which makes them the number one seed today. If they won't lose in their next remaining games, they will secure this number one spot and most likely they will go against the Brooklyn Nets.
~
Since after the all-star last February, the Celtics won 13 in their last 15 games which is quite insane. They are also one of the best teams defensively and all of their starters are at the top in terms of defense. From the 10th spot to now the top seeded team in the East.

I think lets forget the Sixers a bit or the Heat and lets focus on this Celtics team because they are the team to be reckoned with. No one is talking too much about them here but to be at the 10th to now 1st is a big achievement for them. The changing of coach might helped a bit but the combination of Tatum and Brown are just one of the best duos now in the league. Many are talking about one of them getting traded because on how they played at the start of the season but they proved them wrong and now they are one of the best duos and maybe we can put now the Celtics in the championship conversations. Smiley

Maybe this is out of the topic since it happened days ago but if you watched the Nets-Heat game then you will notice this sign coming from Drummond.

It's a meme that I saw in Facebook hours ago. They say it is the new logo of NBA Cheesy. Just shared it here because I saw it very funny Cheesy

Charlotte Hornets had a solid win against Nets while Kyrie Irving made his home court debut. But Irving couldn't perform as expected by most of the people. I really like how Lamelo performed but he cannot perform like this every night, otherwise he would be a superstar. He is a really promising young player though, of course. His 9 assists and 7 rebounds also are very important in an important game like this. But how many games he can hit 7 threes, that is of course highly debatable. Nevertheless, I really like Hornets this year. They are above .5 in the standings and currently 8th in the east. I feel like they can surprise quite a lot of people in the playoffs.
That's without Hayward, so yes, they are doing pretty well.
I watched the whole game and all I could see is Kyrie's missing shot after shot. That's not like him. Something might be bothering him because I doubt it will be because he lost his touch. Durant was infected with the off-night problem and that means trouble. All I was screaming to the TV was for Kyrie to attack the basket. Get his rhythm. Compose himself first using freethrows and find the perfect range which he did but it's too late. Most of his misses were short shots and it can be fixed during game time.
I bet they got comfortable after the blowout win against the Heat.

Lakers and Pelicans will square off later. Both teams are likely to face each other in the play-in tournament too. James and Ingram could be back for their respective teams.

I also noticed there's a poll on who will be the ninth and tenth in the Western Conference. I still think it's those two teams but the Spurs is just a few games behind them.

The Lakers vs. the Pelicans game is over. LeBron showed another great performance scoring 39 points, but it wasn't enough. The Lakers screwed up again and lost to the Pelicans for the second time this season. So if these teams really meet each other in the play-in tournament, then the Lakers will most likely not be able to reach the first round of the playoffs.

I thought they got this covered as they are slightly getting back on track but the result was the exact opposite because they were dominated by the Pelicans, poor LeBron who always try his best to carry the team but the roster ain't that flexible enough just like him and they end up badly this season.

Joel Embiid carries the team in Philadelphia, but Devin Booker played such a game in Phoenix that he scored 22 points in the first quarter. In general, too many points are scored. There's no defense. The first quarter ended 39-37. The end of the match can be over 250 points. Bench players may not score that many in the second quarter. Still, it seems certain that we will see a very high number. Both teams are at the top of their respective conferences.

The game has ended in-favor of the Phoenix Suns (114-104), the game was intense in the second half. Joel Embiid was the highest pointer in the both teams but sadly they cannot just steal the lead because the Sun's ball is really shared throughout the team and it's hard to know who will make the shot and almost everybody is shooting downtown. After the 76ers lost today, they're now in the 4th spot in the ECF from being the 1st last night.

It was really Booker who proved to much for the Sixers as they can't stop him in this game. Also they have a big guy that can probably give Joel a problem and that is Ayton, with double double grabbing 12 rebounds. This is the best version Phoenix that we have seen, they are on top of the NBA right now, the first time to win 60+ games so far and has a winning streak of 8 and could extend up to the last game of the regular season.

Brooklyn Nets still have some chance to grab a secure seat on the playoffs without the need of playing more games in the play-in, they still have some few more games left and they needed it to win.

The sure seat on the playoffs is from 1st to 6th seed. They are behind 3 win games on the 6th and 2 games on the 7th. They might have a chance but it's hard to think that teams on the 6th r 7th won't be able to win some of their remaining games. Because of that, it's now safe to conclude and assume that Brooklyn Nets will play at the play-in tournament.

Not a problem at all as Irving is now there. It's just that, Brooklyn Nets need an extra step to be in the playoffs due to the absences of their superstars this season and not playing by 100% of their lineup. I'm sure they can get a slot in the playoffs.

They could have a higher chance to grab that seat but today they lost again against the hot Hornets and they're back in the 9th seed again. Irving only contributed 16 points while playing 40+ minutes in the game while Ball and Bridges made a combined 57 points, that's already more than the half of total score of the Nets. Looks like they will be in the play-in after all.
It's a horrible shooting night for Irving and Durant as well. Not sure what happened to Irving but his shots are not falling while the Hornets are very hot and even though the Nets did mount a good comeback to cut the lead, that is the best thing that they can do as Ball and Bridges made a good run in the last 4 minutes of the game so secured a huge win.

This should not be a surprised that they lost the game. They have been in this kind of situation before, having a good lead against a home town in the first 2 quarters.

Only to choke on the 4th quarter as the Pelicans made a huge comeback and they don't have any answers. James was visibly distraught with his players as they can't make a basket. He has given them chance to score. A Carmelo Anthony 3 in the corner could have given them some chance, but he missed. And then THT also trying a 3. Lebron is really frustrated on how the Lakers turns out to be this season.

Single carry a team is no longer possible to an aging LeBron. If he's on his prime, maybe he can just drive all the way.

But it's not the case now, even as he keeps on frustrating himself, there's nothing that can be changed to the outcome of the game,
his teammates are not producing the kind of help that he needs.

It might be a tough season for this team. Moving to the second round is a big question now. The chance is more slimmer. They
still losing games.

Easily Pelicans in my opinion.

The Lakers are extremely dysfunctional this season and I don't think that there is much to their offence/defence.

Pelicans with CJ McCollum is a force to be reckoned with, especially if Ingram is back for them. It will be an interesting matchup for sure if they meet in the play-in tournament at some stage - it'll tell us whether LeBron has anything left in the tank or not.

Spurs won 107 - 103.

With that win, Spurs is 2 games win behind the 9th and 10th. They are still alive at the play-in tournament. Pelicans are now tied with the Lakers. From the current standing, we can already picture out what will be the teams to compete in the play-in picture.

The Spurs' next 4 games are against Rockets, Grizzlies, and Blazers 2x. They should handle these teams except for the Grizllies without a problem.

It looks like the Spurs will have a very good chance to move up to 10th place in the standings if the Pelicans lose to the Lakers in the upcoming match. Furthermore, there are only 8 games left until the end of the regular season, so there could be a very intense struggle between these teams for the last place in the play-in tournament.

It's a possibility.  I think the Pelicans are more likely but there's still plenty of time.  I don't think there will be much movement anywhere else.  If you're a Lakers fan you have to be concerned, but with Anthony Davis rumored to be returning any day now it's likely that they'll stay in the running.  I wonder if the Pelicans do advance beyond the play-in, and even past the first round, would that be grounds to give Zion a chance to get back on the floor, or would it be a leave well enough alone situation?  The recent video of Zion throwing it off the backboard and dunking showed he's getting closer to a return, but I'm sure he's got a long way to go to get back into playing shape.

It seems like this is going to be a great game for Devin Booker. He has already scored the half of the points of his team in their game against Sixers. But Sixers are still in the lead and we are in the second quarter now. Suns are the closest side to win this game in fact but I feel like Sixers can surprise us. They are already a great team now and they can win this game by a decent score. They also want to secure their playoff ticket too and they would do their best to win here.

Suns would still not give up on the game just because they have qualified for that round. As they have the advantage of playing in home court too, I expect a very close game. However I'm still going to try my luck with 76ers in this.

Then it should be a good game, Suns are a battle-tested team but the 76ers still have its inconsistency in the past games. I hope this will be entertaining and the 76ers would do everything to win this game, it's necessary for them to boost their confidence going to the playoffs.
