AD as you said is so inefficient it's not funny. You touch him once, and his body crumbles. It's truly a shame as he has such talent.

That was the subject of discussion on some sports discussion communities and even the former NBA greats.

According to them, Anthony Davis seems not to be playing in his prime. Let's face the fact that he is no doubt a great addition to the Lakers and even help them to win the championship last NBA bubble but he should be the new face of the team instead of an aging LeBron James or the newly added stat-padding king as considered by others, Russell Westbrook.

My take on that topic is, just trust the process. Maybe others are just expecting too much for Anthony Davis to carry the Lakers. I really didn't expect and hope that when the Lakers landed him, he will be the main gunner of the team. We can also conclude that the glory days of big men dominating the league are nowhere to be found now. The main point of offense now is perimeter and rainbow shots in most cases.

Milwaukee Bucks is still so strong this season, for sure and I have no doubts that they will still be at the Finals.
The Bucks look good, and they are in the third spot in the Eastern Conference standings at the moment. However, I wouldn't be so sure that they will be able to reach the final series. I mean, there may be very strong competition in the Eastern Conference, considering that teams like the Nets, Bulls, Heat are also playing well this season.
That's going to be a big challenge for them since they are the defending champ. They are not even all healthy yet but they are doing pretty well already, though the Bulls are playing well this season, I still doubt they'll beat the Bucks in the playoffs, and even the Nets if Irving won't be able to come back.

CJ will not be traded, I doubt that is even on the table, but Blazers are not doing that well neither and when they have to players like Dame and CJ and they still fail to be decent for nearly a decade now, that shows how horrible the management rules over the team. In any other situation I would expect Blazers to have 2 stars like this, and add more and more players around them, maybe get a third star, and then a defensive good player, a great rebounding big, all of that.

Most champions have that, and they already have 2 players who are at championship level, they just failed to put other 3 players around them and failed to do that for decades. I am not even sure if they have that talent anymore, sure they are looking fine but that's it, they could have been managed a lot better. I suppose not every FO is the same and we just have to realize there won't be any contending Blazers team at all.

Even though lakers won their matchup against the celtics yesterday, i still think that there is reason for concern.

It's clear that LeBron is slowing down in his 19th season and isn't the same player as a couple of years ago.

They'd only be able to win anything of Russ and AD steps up big time and don't hurt themselves which is a huge ask.

I thought LeBron looked amazing in that game.  Russ was doing pretty good as well.  Between the two of them they absolutely owned the first and third quarters.  I think AD is still a problem though.  He plays like he's 10 years older than he is and I think injuries are going to be a problem for the rest of his career.  If I were managing the team, I would seriously be considering trading AD while he still has a high value and LeBron is still able to win championships.  It may sound crazy, but I would be calling up the sixers and seeing about a Russ/AD for Embid/Simmons trade...  It's criminal that they're going to blame the coach and fire him instead.

I'm not denying the brilliance of Lebron and Russ in that particular game.

However just in aggregate, Lebron has regressed (as he should) quite drastically compared to his prime, and Russ perhaps even more so given his younger age.

My question is... do you guys believe there are chances for the Rockets to participate in the playoffs this season?

Not a chance.  Of the 6 games only 2 were against playoff teams.  4 of those wins came against okc twice, Orlando and Pelicans.  Good on them but once they start playing against teams like jazz, Suns, Nuggets, Warriors, etc they will go on long winless streaks.  A good run for them but a couple losses and they are quickly 7-21.  There next couple games are against the Nets, Bucks, Hawks etc..

I think a lot of fans are still surprised that they were able to win six games in a row. I mean, it's a really great result, especially for a team like the Rockets. Nevertheless, I agree with you, and the Rockets probably won't be able to finish the regular season even in the 10th spot to be able to participate at least in the play-in tournament.

It's okay because they are not expected to be in the playoffs from the very start. The rockets with no real superstar won't become a playoff team, they'll only get dominated in the first round if they are lucky to enter in the play-in tournament. For me, I'm already happy with what I'm seeing, no high expectations, they just have to play with no pressure and build strong and good chemistry among each other.
Indeed, because sadly Houston Rockets are ain't in the predictions as well to be in this season's playoffs. The Western Conference teams are already loaded with great teams especially GSW and we knew that the team Rockets ain't considered to be a tough team even they are lucky to get consecutive wins because before the playoffs will start, they're among the 1st team to be crushed.
Milwaukee Bucks is still so strong this season, for sure and I have no doubts that they will still be at the Finals.

Blazers are expected to continue struggling as CJ McCollum suffered a lung injury. Recent reports suggests that it's not as serious as what was initially feared but he'll still be out for a few weeks to recover and get back in shape. Bad timing for Blazers management who might be thinking of trading him for Ben Simmons.
I remember Bradley Beal's tweet saying "CJ (pray meme)". So this was it. I am late with the news.
Here are the details about the lung problem that he is suffering now.
Quote
Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum did not travel with the team to San Francisco after a CT scan revealed he has a pneumothorax of his right lung, the team announced Tuesday.

A pneumothorax is a collapsed lung that occurs "when air leaks into the space between your lung and chest wall," according to the Mayo Clinic. He will undergo further evaluation.

Trail Blazers injuries are piling up, and the drama is now back to Lillard about pairing him with a defensive player. It happened before the season starts and the issue is back. Bad timing for Coach Chauncey Billups too as this could hurt his 1st season being a coach.
Anfernee Simmons is also being checked day to day after missing games with a sprained ankle. Worst case, they are in the 10th seed. Ouch!

CJ McCollum is a huge piece for the Blazers lossing him for many games would surely put them out of the light for the playoffs.
I've read an article that CJ might probably face a life threatening injury. I though it was really serious?
Well, nothing is so sure about it until there's a relevant new regarding the update of his health status.
It's really sad to hear a good player suffering from an unusual injury.
Lung is very essential part of being an athlete, he'll most definitely miss the remainder of the season for the recovery.

Placed a bet on this match and I go with KD and Harden. Right now the Mavs has the lead looks like I'm going to lose this game tonight. We'll let's see what will KD and Harden will do against Luka and their star players.

Brooklyn Nets won last night because KD and Harden are both playing as the number one seed in the eastern conference. They took the lead in the 4th quarter after struggling to cut it off and in the last minutes of the 4th quarter, they were constantly shooting high percentage shots which able them to catch up even though the lead was in double digits. Durant was in good condition and was able to get good shots in the 4th quarter which lead them to cut the double-digit trails and win the game.

Many times already I see the Nets come back from a huge deficit, this team is legit, I always do live betting and I have some success betting on them when they are down with a huge deficit. They are up against the Rockets, it's a back-to-back game for them but I think they can do it and they'll end the win streak of the Rockets.

That's too bad, I hope that CJ McCollum can recovered quick, yes the Portland TrailBlazers are suffering right now, no Dame time, and now no CJ, I guess it's not that bad to bet against them in every game. Last time they try to get the game very close against the Clippers, but the LA blow them in the 4th quarter and win in double digits.

And so I guess the question of trading CJ and Simmons are not going to push through anymore, And Ben is still unlucky.

Lillard is out and now CJ is out too... I don't see this team qualifying in the playoffs anymore as they have a lot of catching-up things to do.

Bad timing for Blazers management who might be thinking of trading him for Ben Simmons.
If the injury is not serious, then probably it will not result to a decline of his value, we should not worry about it after all.

There are less than two hours left for the Dallas Mavericks v Brooklyn Nets game to start. And most probably, this will be a really great game. Doncic's condition still seems to be questionable. His playing or not can change so many things for Mavericks. Because he is one of their best players as for scoring. In the absence of him, Nets would be closer to the victory. But in any case, I expect Nets to win by a decent gap.

Luka and KP are playing right now, so this is going to be an even match with Durant and Harden on the Nets.

I think this game is going to be close, the line on Nets shrinks to -1.5 at the start of the game from as high as -3.5 before the news of the the 2 star players of Mavericks playing tonights game.

They really have to play though, they have been in a losing streak since both are down.

And hopefully this is going to be a good basketball game, but I do agree that the Nets might win this.

Houston Rockets today have just earned their 6 straight wins and looks like they finally found some rhythm that lead them to dominate every game from the worst team in the current season, now they are climbing to the playoff tree by defeating every opponent that crosses their way. Rockets is finally lifting off!

Excellent observation @yazher !
The Houston Rockets are having chemistry among the players and it seems like things are flowing naturally!

I believe the team needs to be consistent to get a playoff spot!
