My question is... do you guys believe there are chances for the Rockets to participate in the playoffs this season?
There is a chance but it's going to be hard for them, look at their standing, they're one at the bottom of their conference. It is going to be a hard and long way for them to go to the playoffs.
But who knows if there's luck with their team and nobody gets injured and their next matches would be theirs. It's really hard to say confidently but the chance is very low.

I honestly don't see them as a playoff team this year. I mean they are still a young team. Give them at least 2-3 years and they'll be a playoff team If they keep their young talent.
Those top 8 teams in the West will surely be on the playoffs this year. Though the Lakers were struggling too much and they're at the current bottom seed  for the playoff team but I believe they could somehow make it to the playoffs.
They're not really young. But who knows where their standing will bring them. I remember Jazz to them for the last season which have been performing very well.
But during the playoffs, they fell and didn't able to make it. So there's a sense of thinking why they can't be a playoffs team and that's totally fine but I'm appreciating their current standing and wishing them a good run for this season.

Ben Simmons to Blazers could happen if Sixers accept anything other than Damian or CJ, because those two are untouchable for sure. Last I checked Sixers kept wanting bigger and bigger names, and that wasn't ok with the league at all, he is a guy who wants to leave and Sixers basically keeps him hostage at this point, which is reasonable because he is contracted and if he is given whatever he wanted then nobody would have to abide their contract and just let it be.

This is why it is good that Simmons is not getting away with it all, if he did then every other player would have done the same, just like how AD did to go to Lakers for example. In the end if Sixers accept a lesser offer from Blazers that doesn't involve Dame or CJ then this trade could help both teams a lot. Blazers would get that defense they need, and Sixers would have something instead of nothing.

Was a big win for the Bulls especially that now Demar DeRozan is out due to covid-protocols ( not sure if they have said whether or not he for sure has covid, but it looks like we will be without him for some time).  Zach Lavine stepped up in a big way, once again, and Ball and Vuc added plenty as well.  LOVE seeing University of IL stud Ayo play as well as he has with this team and getting the start and the most minutes was just awesome!

Yeah that was a big win for sure.  Shows how good jokic really is though, imagine a healthy Jamal and mjp right now.  Sucked watching Jamal go down he was o e of my favorite younger players.  Hopefully he can come back somewhat like he was aging when he got injured.  Bulls are a top 3 east team and should be the whe year.

Looks like a good night for basketball. We’ve got both the Nets and Lakers playing televised games on TNT tonight. I’m not betting, but I’d guess the Nets and Celtics will be taking home wins just based off of how their opponents have been playing lately. Won’t be much longer now until the Christmas Day games that we wait all year for. I hope all the players involved can stay healthy and covid free so we get a good show.

GSW come back with a huge statement win against the Magic. Yeah, Magic is not a good team, but they show the chemistry again and Wiggins is on fire with 28 points and forget how many 3's he made.

And the Chicago Bulls as well continue their winning streak to 4 already. Still second to the Nets though in the East but just a game behind. The Nets will be facing Dallas next and I think they can win it to keep their top spot.
As expected and I'm not either suprised in the result as the Magic ain't a hard team for the GSW to defeat, surely they took it hardly after they lost to the Spurs. They bounced back and buried the Magics from the 1st (with a 16-1 run to lead), 2nd and 4th quarter which it results to 31 huge points difference (126-95).
Curry made 31 points with 8 assists, Wiggins made a big help also to win the game.

Lebron James is back on the front page.

HoS Pod: Michelle Beadle

Just skip the other parts if you want to hurry about the Lebron James scoop. Somewhere in 13:00.
This lady loves to talk and she is real. I listened to the whole podcast and I liked how real she is.
Anyway, details about the Lebron issue are "her" being fired and Rachel Nichols being put back on ESPN. Why? Simple, Lebron doesn't like Michelle Beadle because of a Nike ad parody she made and that's it. So the powerful force of Lebron even stretches in the media and not just the roster.

Yup, the condition of DeRozan made the Bulls a little depressed at first but the other players really matched the Nuggets team and were even able to beat them in the next quarter.  Indeed, the performance of Lavine and Vucevic really helped the Bulls achieve their big win this time.  The 32 points scored by Levine strengthened his team who were clearly the hosts.

I can't believe that the 76ers are already in the top 7 now, they really have a struggle when Embiid was out, and now that he is back, I'm pretty sure they'll start climbing in ranking again. Great game for these two teams but must better game for the winner.

This trade should be able to boost their performance as a team because they are really struggling without Ben Simmons on their defense and most of the teams are playing 100% this season. Looks like this is a good offer for both teams and the Portland needed Ben Simmons but he needs to showcase his skills in his new team if he ever wanted to make a good comeback and shut all of his bashers.

The question is which players will be included with the trade deal if this happens.

I'm thinking of CJ plus other players in exchange for Ben Simmons. I don't think they will trade Nurkic as they don't have any reliable centers than him (maybe Nance Jr. but he isn't that reliable as well) unless they will go small ball which I don't think will fit with the team composition. If this trade happens then the ball will be focusing on Lillard as he will be the one who will shoot the ball most of the time and this might be trouble for them. What if he injured (hope not), can anybody fill what he is doing especially in offensive.

I like the trade though but I think the ones who will get the most benefit here are 76ers. Well on the other hand though, if this will be the way for Simmons to redeem himself and he will improve so much with this trade then the Blazers will win the trade. If Simmons will learn how to shoot at least at the perimeter or three point then it will be a big help for the team as he already is a good defender and an all-around point guard as well as he can get rebounds and pass.

I think that the most interesting game of the night was Charlotte Hornets - Philadelphia 76ers. And 76ers were able to win by 127-124 after overtime. And J. Embiid had a big role in this win. He got 43 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists. The best player at Hornets was Oubre with 35 points. These teams were already very close in the standings and the result also didn't surprise me.

He shows his worth by trying his best to take this one; they are struggling but once everyone is back in shape

their chance is always high in chasing the title. They are all playing. The coaching staff needs to combine them well,

in paper, they are a team to beat, but what we are witnessing by now they are still looking for the best combination inside, no offense

with the Hornets, but comparing them to the roster of Sixers earlier, they have lesser chance of winning, thanks to that great game of

Oubre carrying them and really fighting back.

8 three pointers. Then Curry was also on a good rhythm with 7/13 outside shots. Orlando just couldn't find the answer to all the raining three's given to them by the Warriors.
Steph Curry 15 three points made away to tie Ray Allen. Upon checking their schedule he might break the record against 76ers while playing with his brother.

And the Chicago Bulls as well continue their winning streak to 4 already. Still second to the Nets though in the East but just a game behind. The Nets will be facing Dallas next and I think they can win it to keep their top spot.
Chicago Bulls sure is a strong team. The combination of 2 agile offensive players Lavine and DeRozan is truly lethal. Then add more flavor by putting Lonzo and a defensive player like Caruso makes them shine more this season.

Social media blowing up today on reports that Dame wants to pick up Ben Simmons in Portland. If Dame says it, Portland better make it happen. I don’t really see how they could pull that off, but it seems like the Dame/McCollum days may be numbered. This would probably be a good move for Portland, but more importantly it might keep Dame in a Trailblazers uniform.

It does mean that even Dame was frustrated with how the organization always ended up every season, and giving a hint that he might end up switching teams, he still wants to continue his loyalty to the team.

If Dame requests something, the Blazers should try to give it no matter what.

As of now, it's still a rumor. If happens, I think Simmons will be utilized more in the Blazers as a Small Forward instead of a Point Guard. He just needs someone to extract his best role and that might be Dame.

I don't know how they piece that trade together but if they can keep Dame, cj and nurkic on the team that would be interesting.  I can't see them being able to get Ben and keep everything together they just do t have that many other good pieces for a team that wants to win now
If Dame, CJ and Nurk will stay and will not be involved in the trade then who will Portland trade to get an equal amount of Simmons.
In the last off-season, the 76ers are desperate to trade Simmons that they even approach the Warriors to have a trade which includes Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, the #7 and #14 picks in the 2021 NBA Draft, and two future first-round picks.

The salary of Simmons is quite high (around $140M in the next 4 years) and I don't think that the 76ers will just get bench players in Portland for Simmons. For sure the trade will include either 2 of the 3. Well, lets see if this rumor will become a reality as Simmons really is having a hard time right now with his current team.

I've seen a picture of Zion Willamson during the Pelicans game against Rockets and he looked really huge. Someone even compared him to the WWE star Mark Henry Grin I feel sorry for New Orleans fans already. They have Brandon Ingram who played well but it would have been better if they also have him playing too.
I saw that on one Facebook page, so it's legit. Bad news for the Pelicans supporters indeed. They should also assume something else is happening if it's not about his diet. Health issues.
That's why his detractors says that he should hire dietitian to help him out control his weight otherwise if will be very difficult for him to comeback if he is going on see-saw diet, not going to be healthy in the long run for him.
He is young and active and this is why I question the diet issues. In my own experience at that age, I was so thin when I was playing basketball even though I eat a high amount of rice and carbohydrates until I worked behind the desk that I got weight problems. But at Zion's age, weight should never be an issue for him and he can easily cut it down.
I could say there must be something else about why he can gain that much weight in a short span of time. Metabolism? Digestion?

Rice FTW to gain weight, LOL, it could be his genes really, but during his college days he was also big isn't it? that's why his shoes give out because it can't take that weight.  Grin

And even though he is active, we all know that if you really eat a lot without any control you are bound to gain weight.

So I agree it is more of his eating habits more than anything else. He could control what he eats, or look at what he is taking. Maybe less carbs will do.

Yup, that's it. It's true that he could hire some professionals that could help him get in back in shape but some are forgetting that he's too young to be gaining that much weight. What would happen if his metabolism slows down as he grow older? By the time he's over 25 y/o, he'll probably become too slow and less athletic. I can see more serious injuries every season.

Miami Heat are hosting Memphis Grizzlies now in FTX Arena. These teams have similar statistics now in their own conferences. So I'm waiting for a competitive game until the end. For now, Grizzlies seem to be the better side but we are not even at the end of the first half. Everything can change in the last two quarters. And I don't expect Heat to lose so easily.
