Sixers right now are not in rush in trading Simmons so they won't accept lower trade request offers.
I'm not sure about that. It could the case right now but that could quickly change the next day. I bet they continue to accept offers and negotiate since they are not really in a good position in the league. They could miss the playoffs if they won't continue with this and other teams are also aware of that.

If they are in rush, they have already settled but they are still waiting for a much good offer. I read an article before that if Sixers really wants to get rid of Simmons, they should accept even a role player in exchange. The problem here is, Sixers are considering Simmons as a superstar but other teams don' think that way.

The time is running and the more they wait for a good exchange, the more they are extending the team building new chemistry. Once the trade happened, their newly acquired players will have to work on chemistry first and we don't know how long it will get a good result.

Social media blowing up today on reports that Dame wants to pick up Ben Simmons in Portland. If Dame says it, Portland better make it happen. I don’t really see how they could pull that off, but it seems like the Dame/McCollum days may be numbered. This would probably be a good move for Portland, but more importantly it might keep Dame in a Trailblazers uniform.

The reason why the Sixers still not getting a successful deal trading Ben Simmon is because the team is looking for a much great offer than some teams already offered. They think Simmons is a big fish therefore they also need a big fish in return. But teams can't offer a much better than that. Ben Simmons then tells the Sixers it's not his fault why the team is not getting a good trade since they give him a high value. Simmons can just easily out of the team if the Sixers will adjust.

Portland can get Simmons but I see McCollum will be included on the trading block. Sixers right now are not in rush in trading Simmons so they won't accept lower trade request offers.

Phoenix Suns finally lost after a very huge win streak of 18 games as far as I remember. They were getting close to breaking a new record in NBA history day by day. But I was already feeling that Golden State Warriors were going to end their win streak by a clear win. And they really did by 118-96. Actually, S. Curry was not awesome again but he still played a big role in this win as he was one of the most scorers of the game. Still, I really appreciate Suns players and the coach. They are just having a wonderful season.  Cheesy

For me, it's not a serious problem though as I haven't seen Zion's stats drop yet.

I agree though that it's not a serious problem although it's only "for now".

In the long run, we will see soon the effect of it on his gameplay. New Orleans Pelicans won't be worried for no reason as they know the post-effect of gaining weight. He is just 21 years old and only played over a single season with the team. They are expecting Zion to be the face of the team.

In fairness though to Zion, he is still on his usual. It's like he can still control completely the current him and his body is cooperating. But I agree that he needs to work on his weight loss and not wait for the problem to start showing. I'm sure Zion can manage.

And just a segway, as a Dallas Mavericks fan for a long, I hope that Luka Doncic is now working to maintain his before weight. Last year, his weight is being noticed and has been a subject of discussion in the basketball world community.

Just to give some quite old news, a few days ago that the coach of Suns has been named coach of the month.

--> https://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2021/12/2/22814784/suns-coach-monty-williams-wins-western-conference-coach-of-the-month-honor
He definitely deserved it, considering that his team did not lose a single game in the previous month. By the way, I'm more than sure that Monty Williams will be the main contender for the Coach of the Year award if the Suns continue to play at the same level throughout the regular season.
I agree.

They're really the top performer and best team for the previous month. And they're under appreciated by many.

I would eye for him to be the coach of the year and hopefully that we get to see Suns at the end of this season and not just in the playoffs.

Rockets started the season with 1-16 and now they managed to win 6 in a row. I do not know what their success and where it came from but they have been doing very well. Same goes for many low level teams, Spurs ended up with 4 wins in a row too, and raptors are looking fine as well. I believe that great teams are getting tired and they want to relax until the all-star break a little bit which gives the teams at the bottom a chance to win some games.
So this is something to watch out for.
I confess, the Rockets' 6 consecutive victories caught my attention. But I think it's too early for me to have a possible conclusion that they will have a great chance of making it to the playoffs this season.

I agree with what was said above by others users, the Rockets need to prove that they are a competitive team and that they have the capacity to go to the playoffs. One possible answer that we might have is the result of the game in 12/08 against the Nets, in 12/10 against the Bucks and finally, in 12/20 against the Bulls.

Another point I didn't emphasize is the Houston needs to have that consistent performance throughout the regular season, after which I believe they will prove they are a worthy team for the playoffs (but I find that difficult to happen in this season)

Let's see what will happen in the future!

Looks like a good deal for the Sixers and McCollum but I'm not too sure about the Blazers. Sixers could finally offload that diva while CJ could finally have his real "breakout" season. He remains in the shadow of of Dame despite playing good in Portland.

Let's see what happens with Lakers during this period, they are barely at 8th seed, and that is a play-in spot, for a team that was seen as the leading contender of this season, they are definitely underwhelming to say the least. Lebron missed a few games that is true but even with AD and Brodie they should have been winning some games, AD had one of the worst seasons of his life and that is hurting Lakers a lot.

I've seen a picture of Zion Willamson during the Pelicans game against Rockets and he looked really huge. Someone even compared him to the WWE star Mark Henry Grin I feel sorry for New Orleans fans already. They have Brandon Ingram who played well but it would have been better if they also have him playing too.
Might be some kind of camera trick we don't know but it keeps circulating that he gains weight, hope the bubble burst but not too soon, I mean he should diet or something. What is going on with these future superstars it looks like they aren't that motivated enough.

There are no camera tricks but Zion Williamson is really getting bulky. He's already bulky when he entered the league and it's increasing continuously. Zion must already be aware of that but can't do something. It's too early for him to gain weight. He is athletic at that weight and if his trainer or nutritionist can do something about his diet, he can dominate the league for more seasons to come.

That's the hardest part, to work on diet compare to gaining weight.

This must be the photo you are talking.

He looks bigger there but he is an athlete, he can work on his training and conditioning before he can finally get back to play.
For me, it's not a serious problem though as I haven't seen Zion's stats drop yet.

This would probably be a good move for Portland, but more importantly it might keep Dame in a Trailblazers uniform.

It does mean that even Dame was frustrated with how the organization always ended up every season, and giving a hint that he might end up switching teams, he still wants to continue his loyalty to the team.

If Dame requests something, the Blazers should try to give it no matter what.

As of now, it's still a rumor. If happens, I think Simmons will be utilized more in the Blazers as a Small Forward instead of a Point Guard. He just needs someone to extract his best role and that might be Dame.

I don't know how they piece that trade together but if they can keep Dame, cj and nurkic on the team that would be interesting.  I can't see them being able to get Ben and keep everything together they just do t have that many other good pieces for a team that wants to win now

CJ would be a good backup for them, but I think the 76ers would be asking someone equal to Simmons and that is probably a guard which I believe CJ will be traded in case this will happen. Maybe the TrailBlazers will gamble on this as they always fall short in the playoffs against a better team, they need to improve especially their defense wich I believe Simmons could give.

It's true, the team is quite experienced and learned a lot from their past mistakes.
TrailBlazers' defense was quite weak in their past matches and there's no denying that but I'm positive they must have improved their defense by now.
In any case the game is even on both sides.

My question is... do you guys believe there are chances for the Rockets to participate in the playoffs this season?
No, not at all.

In the last 6 games that they won, only one team I believe is a good team, and that is the Chicago Bulls. The others are a non-playoffs team so I don't like to get hype so much with the 6 games winning streak, I need to see more games like the Rockets beating teams like legit good teams.

Their next game is against the Nets, if they'll beat the Nets, then I must say they are legit.
I must say that I can't argue with that fact, I mean, we knew that 6 win-streak isn't enough for them to be in the playoffs tree. They need to beat strong tough teams for them to climb the playoff spot. And yes, the Brooklyn Nets will determine if they're suited enough because if they can't beat the Nets then they can't also beat other tough teams like Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks.
Even so, Rockets ain't in the top picks and predictions to be a part of semi-finals.

My question is... do you guys believe there are chances for the Rockets to participate in the playoffs this season?
Nope.
I think that the team is tanking right now and focusing on developing the skills of Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr.

Its like the OKC where they are honing the skills of SGA, same with the Rockets that they are developing and furnishing the abilities of Green and KPJ. These 2 can be a future all-star so... I don't think that they will do it. Its good though to see them in a winning streak after losing 15 games. Maybe if Wall return and will play for the Rockets then they might have a chance next season Cheesy.
