I just saw a social media ad on Shaq's NFT. I know many former and current professional athletes are into crypto but this still caught me offguard. I thought he wasn't into this market because it was too volatile for his taste. Anyway, I guess he found it less risky to sell himself than investing in other coins/tokens. I would probably buy his NFT making a FT shot (talk about rare)
That's probably the point, selling his own will benefit him, and that's the way to minimize the risk by using his popularity. NFT has been growing now, even the celebrities are already into it and it's good for us since we love NBA and crypto at the same time.

But Shaq is a investor too, so probably he doesn't want to missed the boat on the NFT hype.

How about Ben Simmons drama?

Quote
After staying away for two weeks to start the preseason, 76ers All-Star guard Ben Simmons reported to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Monday night -- much to the surprise of an organization that had expected him later in the week, sources told ESPN.

https://abcnews.go.com/Sports/ben-simmons-reports-philadelphia-76ers-sources/story?id=80529998

So it's kinda awkward for Philly to suddenly see Ben Simmons reported for practice. But still a lot of concern whether he will really sit it out for the rest of the season.

Nash even said that they were considering not having Kyrie at home games at this point. Not that we "know" for sure what is going to happen but at least we are aware that there is a chance he may not get vaccinated at all. He is that kind of person, he was always that kind of person, he likes to create riff and get the news, and become the attention.

If every single player gets vaccinated and then only Kyrie is left (and maybe some no-names) then it matters for him to get it, plus I do not get why players do not get it, these are rules and think how important it must be for someone to get vaccinated when it becomes a rule. Why would anyone imagine something like "NBA put a rule on a vaccination that might hurt me"? Like why would NBA hurt you? Why would NBA want something bad to happen to you? Do you realize how HORRIBLE that would be for NBA? They are doing this to help everyone, not hurt anyone and Kyrie is too stupid to see it.

^ Gotta give credit to Steve Nash for planning ahead and preparing the whole team playing without Irving in the regular season and even in the playoffs. Honestly, it's the right thing to do because they couldn't control Kyrie's decision. We should accept that as well as fans and bettors.
He doesn't have much of a choice.  Cheesy That player is just unpredictable with his decisions or wherever his thoughts are.
True. I still give him props for acting swiftly. With what he did, I'm pretty sure the Nets are in better shape mentally than the Sixers.

@gagux123 - Kyrie doesn't want to get vaccinated, let's say it that way. So he is really a pain now, not sure how long the team can tolerate such actions for their superstars. Yeah, we give credit to Nash for thinking ahead, but in the long run, it might bite them in the ass if Kyrie wouldn't play in their home court.

I think the list is short but I don't think the NBA can punish them.  I guess you would have to look into each individual contract for each player to see what the teams can do.  But yeah as of now kyrie isn't vaccinated.  Be funny if he was just holding out so he didn't have to really deal with the preseason, most vets hate preseason.  We'll see if he ultimately eventually gets vexed before the season.
Yes, you said an interesting point @wheelz1200
I believe Kyrie doesn't want to play in the preseason (we all know that preseason is a "warm-up" for the regular season).

I believe it is worth studying the contracts of some players who are opposed to getting vaccinated, including Kyrie. In fact I don't know if this is in the contract, but it is interesting to analyze this point, because there may specific clauses for this.

Poor Ben. He’s had a rough few months. Besides his shooting woes and attacks from his own fans, now the guy looks like he’s going to be the first star to fail at trying to force a trade. That locker room is going to be one extremely awkward place to be when Ben Simmons walks in and plays the silent game with everyone.
Definitely. Even in Wrestling matches they chant "f*ck Ben". It's awkward for both fans and players and maybe even their management as they should find a way to sell some tickets even with Ben around. I bet many Philly fans are now doubting if they should even buy a full season ticket or just watch it live in their televisions. The other option is just watch Netflix which is pretty much cheaper than a ball game.   Roll Eyes

Getting vaccinated has nothing to do with his current religion because as of now, every religion in the world probably recommended getting vaccinated but as far as my knowledge, no one in the world forces us to do so in an obligatory way except if we are members of some associations where the administration will oblige their people to be vaccinated. It's better for them to get vaccinated to avoid being suspended in the game where every game is crucial and they needed it most if they wanted to get to the NBA finals.

This is just a short-term problem, eventually, Irving will be convinced to get vaccinated as that has been the rule in the NBA and he is necessary to play in every game so the Nets' chances of winning would improve. Let's say the team will allow this kind of status, they might win games at home without him and quality in the playoffs, the question is, what would happen to the Nets in the playoffs where they will likely play more games at home if the series will extend to 7 games? So I don't think the team will tolerate his principle.
wow, now that I realize.... Kyrie Irving hasn't been vaccinated yet? I swore he was already vaccinated and able to play. Is there any possibility that he will be punished by the NBA?
I know Andrew Wiggins also had a problem related to religion, but he got vaccinated.

Can anyone tell me which other players have not been vaccinated?

Yeah I'm definately watching the first game.  Might not even see anything different on the court though of the professionalism kicks in.  Sixers got to know they are better with him than without him.  But when they are losing definately going to break out the popcorn for the first public fight.

We will really see what the Lakers are made off in the regular season. And most likely they are not pushing their body or not giving 100% in the game. But we all know how Westbrook and Lebron has that killer instinct in every game. So let's wait for regular season and then we can judge whether chemistry is a problem or not.
The regular season is different compared to preseason, in the regular season, the Lakers will give everything they have to dominate as they are expected to win in the West, and in the East, it's the Brooklyn Nets. We were expecting to see these two teams play in the NBA Finals but if the Lakers' chemistry will be a mess, I think it will not be realized.
But the Nets will have a big problem.

"I think we recognize he's not playing home games," Nash told reporters on Sunday.

"We're going to have to for sure play without him this year. So it just depends on when, where and how much."
They might have a strong bench but Kyrie is still a big addition to both ends of the floor if he could play the whole season. Doesn't he even care about his team? About how bad these guys want a championship? Griffin, Aldridge, and Harden. Three veterans who are in pursuit to claim the throne as early as they could possible get it before they retire from being a basketball player. I bet even Steve Nash want it so bad that he had said everything to make him take the vaccine.

CP3 after the loss in the championship last season was ask during an interview in the past if what will he do after, he said he will go back to work and start training again, so his character is really a hard working guy, he wants to improve himself so he can carry his team again to compete in the NBA Finals.

Last season was a big success for them but a disappointment in the NBA Finals, so I believe what we see in their games this preseason is a statement on how serious they are this new season.
For me, CP3 performed very well last season, even though he lost the finals to the Bucks, CP3 played an important role for the Suns as he led and guided the team as best he could to the finals.
I'll be cheering for the Suns and CP3 this season!

Until the regular season starts and we have like half the season going, we are not going to know how great Lakers will be. Westbrook was good at Wizards last year as well when he actually got it going but it took a while before he was that good, he wasn't good right off the bat and it takes time to learn to play with him. This is why I believe Lakers in their first 30 or so games will be a good team but not at 100% just yet.

I believe that after that's over, we are going to actually start to see them be awesome, that is when they will actually be providing with some real game because their chemistry will be great together after a certain amount of games. AD and Lebron is great together already but they got so many new players that they need to learn to play together, westbrook and rondo never played together, Melo didn't play with any of them as far as I remember, Ariza will probably be defense only so I doubt that would be a problem. Well all in all it will just take some time.

CP3 counter Melos magic hehehe! what an amazing individuality from these 2 close friends.
Going back to your opinion, it's indeed true that the game earlier shows that Lakers still unable to find the right chemistry inside the court.
Turnovers and those miscommunications are more likely killing them, but it's good that they are seeing it during this preseason and they still have
time to work on it and adjust.
So far, Suns shows chemistries, whoever inside act their individual roles and that's how the system works, they are good and still contender
in this upcoming season.

The match was a perfect example showing that only having world-class players can only do so much for a team. Team chemistry is also equally very important. Lakers were lackluster in every sector, in attack and defense as well. Anthony Davis and Carmelo Anthony in this age still played like beasts. DeAndre Jordan and WB disappointed me the most. WB played almost half of the whole match but he was unable to perform. On the other hand, the Suns played very well coordinated. Even if you look at the stats, you will see that they played a "team game.' 6 of their players scored more than 10 points each and the Suns scored 52% of their field goals compared to the Lakers' only 37%. Maybe give them some time to build the chemistry between then and then the Lakers can be a fierce side for anyone.

Yes, maybe we will see Russ and Lebron together in the game or Russ coming off the bench to lead the second team.

There is no chance we'll be seeing Russ come off the bench to lead the second team.  The guy is one of the best basketball  players in the world.  The Lakers are lucky to have him on their starting unit.  He's been struggling pretty bad shooting from the field in the preseason, but I'm sure it's because he's working on things and getting ready to make a push for a championship.  I have complete faith the Lakers are going to start kicking some serious ass once they get a feel for each other.  Usually I'd say it takes at least a season playing together before a chip is possible, but I think these old guys will find their stride by the all star break.

Like what I previously mentioned, as an individual player, Lakers are fully stacked with exceptional talent and superstars. I think their first five and bench consists of all-star players back on their prime.

Their game earlier against the Suns show on how the Lakers lack their team chemistry and ball rotation. Though Melo showed a vintage performance of his non-stop 3s and deadly midrange shots, their turnovers what killed them starting on the 3rd quarter. Chris Paul showed an exceptional performance on his 3s earlier. His just really an outstanding PG across the field.

It's preseason, you can't get anything from anything that happens in the preseason.  How many times in every sport does a team not win much that wins a ton in the reg season and vice versa.  Some teams play more benches and save minutes for their stars and some play their stars.  It's not indicative of how "serious" they are.  Trust me they are probably real serious about wanting to win, just as are every other team in the league.

Indeed, they will try to go back to the NBA Finals again as they fell short last season.

Judging on the NBA Futures, I think they have a chance to compete as they are next to Bucks on the favorites to win with +1500 betting odds.
