Celtics now adding some power in the painted area.
Celtics Sign Enes Kanter
Quote
Kanter, 29, returns to Boston after averaging 11.2 points (60.4% FG, 77.4% FT), 11.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 24.4 minutes with Portland in 2020-21. He was the only player in the NBA to average at least 11.0 points and 11.0 rebounds while playing in all 72 games last season
Now they have Horford, Williams, and Kanter protecting the rim. If they want to go small ball, they have Smart who can be positioned to small forward which he is pretty good at. I think this completes the Celtics roster and they just need Brown to be healthy again for their offensive force. A lot of chance for Schroder to prove himself if they keep on adding big guys only.

I love Kanter when he was a Celtic and its good to see him back again in green uniform.

Horford + Kanter is already solid in the middle, maybe they can play together or combination of them with Williams to protect the rim. I think it's a well built Celtics team right now, not perfect, but still it can contend on any team in the East. Also adding Dennis will give them more depth offensively.

Bring Lance Stephenson back to NBA! Cool
After being close to returning to the league last year with the Indiana Pacers ahead of the Orlando bubble, now the player may have a better chance to show he still has the right qualities to play at the highest level. Lance will hold a workout in these hours in Las Vegas where several NBA teams will be present. The goal is to convince them to give him a chance. Representatives from the Bucks, Nuggets, Sixers and Nets are expected to attend.
Stephenson hasn't played in NBA since the 2018-19 and his last professional experience was in China with Liaoning Flying Leopards in 2019-20.

I think they just need to manage the minutes of Leonard like what Raptors did when during his time there, the "load management" is very helpful.

I think it's not necessary to do it. Kawhi was able to enter the playoffs healthy last season. That's the purpose of load management. However, in the playoffs, Kawhi Leonard got injured. That's where load management got wasted.

He just needs some boost from his teammates. We already saw that when he got injured last playoffs, his teammates step ups. If they will manage to sustain it, no need for Kawhi to always carry the load.

IMO, they can keep their team intact because they already have a championship team, as long as PG13 and Kawhi Leonard are healthy, there's no doubt that they can compete very well with any team in the West or East. LA Clippers has huge confidence in Leonard, the reason why they signed him with the biggest contract of Leonard in his career.
I firmly and agree with you. Well, they got coach Ty here and that's more confident than ever that they can pull this off. I think they should extend a contract for Boogie? His presence has been seen on the frontcourt on the WCF though but still skeptical, this guy is a free agent.

All eyes are turned to Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets for the new season. Nothing changed about it actually. People were expecting to see a final series between these two teams but even one of them couldn't manage to promote to the NBA finals. They had big excuses of course.

At Lakers, A. Davis was out for a long time because of an injury. Lebron was also out for some time. And it affected the team deeply. After they came back, Davis was still struggling to adapt to the games.

At Nets, we couldn't watch the trio many times. Because Irving and Harden both had injuries for a long time. KD had to do his best to carry the team. But he saved the team until a point in the end. Bucks eliminated them by benefiting from the situation.

This time, I hope that both teams have a really good season and play-off period and one of them promote to the finals.
Way more like the most overrated team right now, the roster (Lakers) isn't on the prime age as far as I'm concern but still deadly looking AF. I just wish for all teams to be healthy and let's see what could this next season might bring for us fans.

All eyes have been on the Lakers super veteran team lately so I'm glad the Clippers finally making some news hehe.  I went on to check their roster and found out they still have a lot of veterans that were former all-stars. I'm not that excited to see this team play for next season.

Anyone else who would like to see Rajon Rondo perform like his "bestfriend" Chris Paul?

We will have to see regarding Rondo's case, we don't know what happen to him when he transferred to Clippers. He went from one of the best point guard with the Lakers, to nobody during the playoffs. Perhaps the coach put him on a limited minute with their series against the Suns and just inserted Pat Beverly to help bring down the ball or Reggie Jackson, maybe he was nursing some injury hence the bad performance.

As far as the roster goes, still complete in my opinion and when Leonard comes back healthy, I think they can still be a good contender in the West.

Rondo would certainly do if given enough minutes, or maybe he is still adjusting as it was his first season with the Clippers and the team relied heavily on the starters. I also thought that Rajon Rondo would be as good as he was with the Lakers, but it did not pass my expectation yet, but I trust this man, I know he still has a lot to share with his team, so I'll be patient with that.

Prime Rondo was different. He was so consistent with his game in the Celtics. A good pass first point guard who could kick out passes to a spot up shooter like Ray Allen. He's also a good defender and a hustle player.
Rondo today became inconsistent, as a result he won't going to be a starter but a good back up point guard.
Yeah he still got game, but CP3 had a very good performance last season compared to Rondo.

No changes from the Clippers roster right? Kawhi is re-signing with the Clippers new max contract.

Yeah, never heard of any trades coming from the Clippers, all are just rumors.

Nicolas Batum though will have to finalised his contract, but for sure he will still be a Clipper next season.

If Rondo is still inconsistent next season, I'm speculating that he might be traded mid next season. After his stint with the Lakers and won the ring, it seems his game went on a downward spiral with the Clippers.

No changes, they might try to just improve the whole roster with their skills.
Terrance Mann could be their key player if only he could be consistent with his game.
He already showed what he is capable of, he just needs more courage to make those shots without hesitation.
I remember one play where he stopped in the middle of the paint, there is no defender in front of him but he decided to pass it.
His offensive awareness should also be trained, making the right decision as fast as he could whenever he holds the ball.

Lets also take note that they also have a very good coach in Ty Lue. It might be a long time ago but we can't take the fact that he is the coach of the Cavaliers who won in NBA Finals against the 73-9 Warriors with a 1-3 deficit in the first 4 games. That shows how good he is in handling players.
I don't doubt that Ty Lue is a great coach for the Clippers. However, winning the title in 2016 isn't a good example because Lue was hired only in mid-season, and it was his first time as head coach. I mean, he hadn't enough experience in handling players at that moment, but it wasn't a problem because Lebron had a huge motivation to get the first title for his hometown.

^I agree that Kawhi staying is a great news for Clippers, however they have proven time and time again that they are not the team everyone expected them to be. Sure they are a good team, and surely they are much better than just a few years ago, they really sucked big time for a while there, from the great "lob city" period to Kawhi+pg period it really didn't look great for them, so this is a lot better.

However, let’s be honest here, they are also not the title contenders that we assumed they would be. Even Suns played on the finals last season which nobody saw coming, so I am not saying that Clippers will not. All I am saying is that they were seen as the heavy heavy heavy favourites, like saw as high as 4.45 for winning the league on their first year. I am not saying they are bad, obviously they are a great team, but at least we can now agree that they are not THAT great.

Leonard is staying with the LA Clippers.

NBA free agency 2021: Kawhi Leonard agrees to four-year, $176.3 million contract with Clippers

With this news, I still consider the LA Clippers to be one of the favorites to win the NBA Championship next season.
I think they just need to manage the minutes of Leonard like what Raptors did when during his time there, the "load management" is very helpful.
Sauce please!

Looks like my man PG13 will still have his duo two-way player from here on out and hope they'll last long and get that win that Leonard promises to the Clippers Nation. Just want to wait on the poll again to vote for Clippers. I think there will be change on rosters again and hope they'll get some best role players. I think they'll have to let Big Z stay or Reggie Jackson and Batum or maybe not change so much on the roster, they are best role players for Clippers as I see the past playoffs.

IMO, they can keep their team intact because they already have a championship team, as long as PG13 and Kawhi Leonard are healthy, there's no doubt that they can compete very well with any team in the West or East. Load management really helped Kawhi but I just hope that with this Load management, it will help him not to get injured into the post-season again.

The only problem is on the playoffs, just like the case of James Harden, he was only injured in the regular season but he has to rest for many months in order to recover but comes playoffs time, Irving got injured so he has to come back even if he is still not 100%.

I think Kawhi could play in the series against the Suns, but they did not force him because they don't want to aggravate the injury.

He is recovering from a Knee injury but he has not undergone surgery.

When Kawhi got injured in the playoffs against the Jazz, they defeated the top seeded Jazz with the help of PG13 and other players.
I think that with Kawhi, they are still considered one of the top teams in the West.

Thanks mate, so yeah, I would consider his last season playoffs was his real test as he was given enough time and role, to be the outside shooter they needed, but unfortunately, when they play on the road in the series against the Bucks, he didn't score that much.

So that's where Korver can teach him as development coach, and partake all the experience he has with Harris to be steady and constant specially on the roads during playoffs.
A big problem with shooters is when their hands are shaking during a tight game.
I think he could give him tips on how he could control those emotions first. I mean, Harris is a sharpshooter already and he knows that, the stat sheets show it too.
It's just that time against the Bucks that I saw him out of place or out of order. Just a bit of shake in that shooting position will mess up everything.
The Nets did a pretty good job putting Korver in their team management with his history of unorthodox shots.  Grin
What upgrade do you think will be given to Harris? Quick-release?

Korver is a good backup for Harris, if Harris will struggle again, he can of course help because he also has a lot of playoffs experience already. What I'm seeing is that the nets are really competing with the Lakers in getting veterans at a minimum salary, of course, this also gives an opportunity to the veterans to have their championship in their career.

The Nets will sign Korver, not as part of the roster, but as a player development assistant coach. Try to refer to the discussion above.

But even for let's say he signed as a player, there's no such thing as a competition between teams signing veterans. That's weird. Cheesy

The Nets have hired ex-NBA sharpshooter Kyle Korver as a player development assistant coach.

Maybe they really need to hire him as Harris their 3 point sharpshooter was not sharp during the playoffs.

Since 3 point shooting is the game now in the NBA, they need to also improve their 3 point shooting, I know the Nets are already good 3 point shooting but they need some consistency especially in a high intense game like the playoffs where defense is very tight.

Is this Harris first playoff appearance though? I'm asking maybe he is also affected by the gitters of having his first playoffs that's why he was inconsistent with the game against the Bucks.

So adding Korver as a development coach is good indeed for the Nets. Harris though is already a good percentage 3 point shooter, maybe what Korver can bring is to prepare him coming from screen. Or Korver can help the rest of the team in free throws as he also have a good free three shooting during his prime.

I think he has already a playoffs experience as his first two seasons is with the Cavaliers, but maybe he is just a rookie at that time and he was not given enough minutes. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/harrijo01.html

He played 5 seasons already with the Nets, and only in last season where the Nets entered the playoffs so most probably its his real playoffs appearance with some good minutes.

Here's the playoffs log for complete information.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/harrijo01/gamelog-playoffs/

If I'm not mistaken, Korver is a great defender too, so he can also teach some tricks on how a shooter will defend at the same time. This is a good development for the Nets, they really are serious about improving their players and they've seen other teams are a big threat to their campaign.

This coming season could be their last chance, if they will not win a championship, then people will conclude that the big 3 is not effective.
