Dennis Schroder is just looking for a bigger contract than what the Lakers is offering him, perhaps he just want to maximise his potential while he is still healthy. But obviously, LA doesn't want to provide or at least they don't have the capacity right now to offer it to Dennis because of salary cap.
Staying at LA is no longer good for his career, with LeBron and Westbrook in front the rotations for him might be harder, he won't gets good minutes with healthy King James and WestBrook, Better to find another team since he already decline the extension of his contract.

Schroder just isn’t worth the money that was spent on him or that he’s seeking. The Lakers grabbed him and Harrel because they had roles they wanted to fill and needed talent. They both vastly underperformed and like KCP, their contracts needed to go. I feel like the Lakers aren’t carrying a bunch of dead money around now (except Luol Deng’s contract) and are in a pretty good place to sign more superstars when Westbrook and LeBron get too old for title runs.

Knicks already have Kemba Walker recently acquired, and they have Rose as well, if Schroder goes there, then they have a 3 guard rotation, not sure if that is a good idea. Unless. they will get Schroder and then trade him again.

Might better to think deeper for the knicks they need big players and role players not a star quality individual, Kemba and Drose plus Barrett and Fournier good enough for the frontline.

They need back up for Randle Big Man who can create and deliver inside, it will give more space for their shooters if they've got options inside.

They have also Marc Gasol, another big men who has experienced as well, and a threat to the outside. He didn't get a good exposure last season, but I'm sure Vogel will insert him if needed as we have seen in the playoffs against the Suns as he hit crucial 3. They let go of Caruso, but added Ariza to play the defense for them against shooting guards of the opposing team.
Thanks for the reminder. I forgot about Marc Gasol.
So yeah, they are really filled with Giants.  Grin
In terms of speed, I think Westbrook and Schroder will be ideal for it and they were teammates, right? Did Schroder reach WB when he was still at OKC?
But the only problem is, Schroder turned down the $84M extension. Which means? He doesn't like playing with WB? Or is it Lebron?

Where would this dude fall? What team does have the cap to fill for him?

He will be out with the Lakers, he was only there to prove his value and I think he will be able to land a good team. I'm not sure what teams really need a good point guard, but as of today's standard, PG is now bigger while Schroder is short, so a team would only give him a max contract if they sees him like CP3 and Trae Young.

And there's a rumor, maybe he would fit with the Knicks.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a lot of moving parts in NBA free agency, with a number of their main rotation pieces being free agents this summer. The biggest name among those is point guard Dennis Schroder who refused a contract extension to experience free agency for the first time in his career.

If they like a healthy and talented Point guard, they should go with Dennis Schroder. Though I can't say that he is a superstar but I'm sure  Dennis Schroder is an underrated player. His numbers are consistent and he can provide offense for the team if needed.

Drove was never the starting guard.  There is plenty of time for kemba to get 20-30 with drose getting 20 and getting time at the 2 for Fournier, Burks and IQ.  Refer there are always injuries through the year.  You can't ever go in with players that are semi injury prone with just enough guys to get it done.  The kemba pick up is low cost high reward deal.

How about this news? LaMarcus Aldridge seriously considering return to NBA after retiring last season with heart issue, per report.

I guess it will be good to see him playing again, but he need to be cleared first, by the NBA's medical team.
He cannot play at a high level anymore so I would rather see him become an ambassador of the sport and play community games than rejoin the NBA. He can also become a sports analyst if he's good at it just like the other retirees. It will be interesting how he'll converse with Shaq or Barkley if that happens.

We understand his passion for the sport, but if his body has already given up, he should not force it. Chris Bosh also ended his basketball career early and he has to accept it because of his condition, he was operated on at first, came back to sports, and later get operated again and has not come back anymore.

So if LA will play, he might face his problem again and we don't know if it will be worst next time.

Thing is, his body is not getting any younger, so the healing time will take time.

Maybe they can get Cousins since he doesn't have any contract as of this moment (IIRC).

He is not fast too, and he is also prone to injury, so I don't think it's a good idea to acquire him. In fact, he did not even have a good minute with the Clippers, his prime is over and teams are not interested in getting him anymore if he will cost the same amount of getting a younger and healthier center.

According to this article - https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/ny-nets-free-agency-primer-20210802-ixz4xun3kncfjagob2274xfove-story.html

Quote
CAP SPACE: $0
Forget about signing free agents outright. The Nets have committed $119.6 million to Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden alone for the 2021-22 NBA season, plus an additional $17.3 million to Joe Harris and another $9.8 million to DeAndre Jordan, the veteran big man who signed a $40 million contract but did not play at all in the playoffs last season.

Net's won't be able to acquire more players anymore due to their low salary Cap.

Durant, Irving and Harden all belong in the top 10 superstars in the NBA, hence, they are paid with big money, and Nets now are facing the results of being greedy and too desperate to win a championship, they need to face the next season with the current line up or some minor additions through trade.

I guess it will be good to see him playing again, but he need to be cleared first, by the NBA's medical team. In any case, there could be many teams still interested on his services, he could still be a good man in the middle for any teams and he can contribute to the offense as well. I'm not sure if Nets will have the first crack at him.

Interesting and I'm sure KD would love to see him playing back to Brooklyn,

He can continue his quest for the title, still good place for him to play with this top 3 scorer. If he able to clear his medical condition for sure Nets management will take their step, his presence inside will help KD and if they'll still have Griffin plus Kyrie and Harden amazing all-star starting line up!

I hope he can play though, but a heart problem is a serious problem, clearance is needed for him to play. LA is already an accomplished player for me, hopefully he will think wisely not to sacrifice his health for his passion, Nets can still find a good big man that will help their chances of winning the NBA Finals.

But he is not so effective anymore, with his condition, he might not also be given a lot of minutes, and he is not getting any younger so I doubt we will see our expectation on him. Nets has to find a big man that is 100% healthy and a young one, I know they can as they already saw what the current line up can do in the playoffs and they have no choice but to improve.
When he is in the Brooklyn, he is the starting Center of the team and he averaged 12.8 pts in his few games there. Not bad already knowing that he is almost past prime.

With what you said though, I agree that he isn't that effective right now and they need to get a younger center. Nets have DeAndre Jordan still but the problem is his speed. Well, they traded Jeff Green to have some salary space so they might get at least one reliable big this off-season. The only question is who will fit to the team. A quick search in google into which Centers are free as of this moment and there are many but not that popular. Maybe they can get Cousins since he doesn't have any contract as of this moment (IIRC).

If NBA doctors will clear him then, he can still go back and play. For sure there will be battery of test on LA before clearing him.

Still a good addition to the Nets, Griffin was not a full center but he try to cover that middle for the Nets. But imagine if they have LA and Griffin at the PF position and healthy Durant and Harden and Kyrie another line up that can match Lakers.

Kemba Walker to the Knicks after getting a buyout from OKC… The deals just keep coming. The NBA looks a lot different this week and it’s still so early in the process. Yeah that is what I am probably most excited about, seeing what Zach Lavine can do with a legitimate roster around him.  If he can't get them to a decent playoff seed then it will show he is not the super star that some ( or he ) believes that he is or is becoming.  To actually win a championship we would still need another super star, but this is certainly a good start for him.  I have to imagine if he plays well this year he will be offered a max contract..but we shall see.
He is even trying to showcase what he is capable of in Olympics. Just recently, USA won and Zach Lavine's steals was on the spotlight for turning the game over.
I think he got 2-3 steals + airplane dunks on that game against Australia.
Until Mark Gasol prove his worth with the Lakers, then I might start believing that he is still a good piece for their success. Gasol is good, no doubt about it as he already won a championship back in Toronto Raptors, but playing with Lebron could be different so he might not fit with his current team.
That's the problem. How could you show how worthy you are if there is no minutes that will be given. He could've burned that bench just from sitting the whole time. But, whenever he takes over he dominates with inside and outside shots. He may be a veteran but he made some good adjustments using his shooting skills.
