There's no betting odds yet but I believe Blazers will be the favorites to win.
The Blazers has experienced players compared to the Grizzlies that composed with young fellas and not that much of experienced in the playoffs. Dame is on the zone when playoffs is approaching, literally on fire.

Trail blazers waving to Lakers.

Goodbye to the 22-year streak appearance of Spurs to the postseason.

--> https://www.si.com/nba/2020/08/13/spurs-postseason-streak-snapped-22-years

And while we are talking about it, Portland Trailblazers got in.

It is a heated game and Damian performance is really amazing with 42 points also with great players like McCollum and Whiteside. Levert really showed something but it is not enough. Either way, I am concerned about Trailblazers having Carmelo Anthony on the court in this game. That last minute shot by Carmelo might've stop them from going to the series.
Congrats to Portland!

This season has full of surprises. But commend to Utah Jazz for winning the game.

I guess we get to see more from the other teams, hopefully good news and not like this one anymore.
yeah..now that the western conference is a little bit confusing of which of the three teams competing for the 8th place for play offs. This is really something good between this three teams and my bet here is the trailblazers team. Carmelo Anthony and Damian Lillard were carrying the team just like what lebron did when he was playing cavaliers. I will watch closely on this team in the western conference.

Still my bet for championship is the lakers because of Lebron and other strong players like anthony Davis.
Everyone is betting for Lakers and there's no thrill anymore what to expect. Let's have them set aside as the majority is with them.

@Russlenat, thanks for sharing this information, the information is not confirm, I though Blazers would already advance in the playoffs. This is exciting to watch, if Blazers wins in the first game, they will finally advance but if not, it will be a win or go home for both teams.
Your welcome.. It would be fun if the Blazers will lose in the first game and we will see a do or die game in the next schedule.

There's no betting odds yet but I believe Blazers will be the favorites to win.

Lillard is the MVP in the bubble if there is an award, so he should win this one, they have the advantage so I think they can.

If there is an award like that, at least they will be recognize for their effort.

The stars for this bubble is Lillard as the MVP and Suns for finishing in the bubble with undefeated record.

Are you excited with the first playoff series between the Grizzlies and Blazers? Lol...

here's the rule of the game.

NBA playoff picture: Play-in series schedule for Trail Blazers vs. Grizzlies

Quote
How will the play-in series work?
The play-in series is limited to only two teams: the No. 8 and No. 9 seed in each conference’s playoff picture, provided those teams are separated by four or fewer games in the standings.

If the team that enters the play-in series as the No. 8 seed wins the first game of the play-in series, they are officially in the playoffs. If the No. 9 seed wins the first game of the play-in series, there’s a winner-take-all second game.

Essentially: the play-in series has two games maximum. The No. 8 seed has to win one game to lock down the final playoff spot. The No. 9 seed would have to beat them in two straight games to make the playoffs.

and schedule.
Quote
Trail Blazers vs. Grizzlies play-in series schedule
Game 1: Saturday, Aug. 15 at 1:30 p.m. ET

Game 2 (if necessary): Sunday, Aug. 16 at 3:30 p.m. ET

Yeah, they are tied with 76ers with most playoff streak, right now the leading team to playoff streak was Rockets with 8 playoff streak, still 1/3 of what did the Spurs and 76ers made.

What a feat, the 8th winning streak of Suns was just denied the Grizzlise Clinched Play-In Game, they sure are the NBA bubble greatest team though (Suns).

When to people vote for the MVP? I mean isn't it suppose to be already? If it is going to happen anytime after the headbutt that could change things, not statistically or team wise or anything but the narrative could change. After all NBA wouldn't want a head butting person as their MVP. I agree that just one move shouldn't change much about mvp race, however we can't influence people and some may actually think like that.

I think it is not as important as previous years, this years MVP will be basically like an MVP of a lockout season, not as important as the other ones. Plus Giannis got one anyway, it wouldn't really matter too much if he fails to get this year. I feel like Harden should have been given a chance, even maybe Jokic because Nuggets are doing so well thanks to him.
There's no public voting for the bubble MVP according to this post it's only going to be for the sportswriters and broadcasters.

It might not be that big compared to the other MVP award that Giannis received but still it's a good way to mention the players who did well during these times.

Harden and Jokic would only have a chance if their team would be winning most of the time like the Suns and Blazers but it's unlikely for them since they'll be judged only for the 8 matches they've played.

Out of all teams, Portland has the best situation, they simply have to win and they secured 8th spot. Next in line is Memphis, that can get 8th spot if they win and Portland losses. Phoenix has to win and then hope for Portland and Memphis to loose in order to secure 8th spot. Spurs can't reach 8th spot, best for them is 9th, if Grizlies and Phoneix looses.

I think both Portland Blazers and Phoenix Suns are gonna win their games. I am not sure about Grizzlies though since Bucks are a difficult opponent but it is also hard to say since they are without Giannis. I think it's gonna be Blazers to secure the 8th spot - Nets have playing quite well without their regular players but I feel like it's gonna end here today against Blazers.

This is the day for the low seed teams, Grizzlies and Suns have already won their games, we are about to find out if Blazers could also win hours from now.
If Blazers would lose, Suns and Grizzlies will be tied at the number 8 spot.

Interesting game for the Blazers, a must win for them.

Blazers are leading at half time and I'm kind of split in two. I have 2 Croats, one in Blazers one in Suns. I would be happier is Saric goes through to playoffs with Suns, but if Blazers go through it is still ok. Suns are a very nice surprise after the break and it would be shame if they don't make it.

Tonight is the night! We are finally going to learn who will play who for the playoff spot tonight! I can't contain my excitement, in few hours there is going to be the most exciting game of NBA for a long period of time. well playoffs could actually be more entertaining but not at around first round for sure, probably not even second round, the only thing that could be more thrilling than tonights games would be actually conference finals at the very best.

I am still in full support of supports, if we win and 2 other teams loses, we are making it to play in for sure, it is going to be so much fun, I want the streak to be alive! However if it doesn't happen, that would be dissapointing but understandable, we are missing a big piece with Lamarcus Aldridge and I think that could be a quite valid reason why we couldn't make it to playoffs.

I am fan of Giannis and of course with the team also that always shows good plays. Now that they are already in the playoffs then pretty sure that they learn on their loss during the finals in the eastern conference where Kawhi made a lucky shot. Anyway, past is pass and no one could make it back to happen again. It was a good experience for this young team though and if it will going to happen again then pretty sure they can make more adjustments and will got probably this time. Well I hope of that to happen.
There's no lucky shot, it's literally a ball bouncing on the way to the basket, whatevs. They clearly are the favorites by now as well as the Lakers to the West but hoping that they'll not choke up again this time.

True. This could affect and cost him the MVP race but let stats speak that for himself and the race. I'm a fanboy of his and very disappointed when I've get to see him did that.

So frustrating being a fan.  Undecided
I don't think that would totally affect on the race but let's see, I'm still rooting he'll get it again this time, not with just some headbutt hindrances. Physicality then get heated, that's basketball, love watching old time era.

He will not win the MVP this season because of that, lol.

Giannis was supposed to be a good example for the fans, headbutting his opponent because he got heated is wrong, now, coaches knows his weakness, they will exploit him in the playoffs and I don't see any chance Bucks will advance in the finals, sorry, that's because of the headbutt.

Meanwhile, have you seen Lillard goating again? Damn that guy should get an award being an MVP in the bubble.

Not a smart guy to handle his temper, if it was Kobe and Lebron, they'll just let it go but they'll still win in the end.
They make a revenge that is not obvious to the fans, lol.. anyway, what is done is done, I think there's less competition with him on MVP race, so he'll still win.
