I forgot how long his contract with them.

But I'm sure that he's still one of those big contributors to the team. Mad respect for the guy, this thread is a witness how hard he went through being a choice of a team.

Almost there's no team that wanted to him before.

PORTLAND, Ore. — It appears new Portland Trail Blazers fan favorite Carmelo Anthony will remain with the team for the rest of the season.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Blazers will make Anthony’s contract fully guaranteed for the rest of the season. The deal is worth $2.15 million, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

Ok, thanks.

We are likely to see again him probably the same hardship or it wouldn't be hard this time as he has proved himself.

We don't know his status now since that season was already over, or there maybe some fresh news out there that I didn't read but one thing I'm certain is that his salary is not really his usual salary so if he will get signed again by the Blazers, that might significantly improve.

Is there any fan of Beasley in here? I've read a bad news how he acted against a family. This is hot news for him and his wife.

https://www.nba.com/news/minnesota-timberwolves-guard-malik-beasley-charged-with-threatening-strangers-with-gun

Not a fan of this guy, in the news it's "Malik Beasley ", I thought it was Michael Beasley because this guy looks like into drugs.

I've been laughing at his interview in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkRtHNhK2OA) as he looks high, so he was the first one that came into my mind.
Same. I thought at first it was Michael.
CBS made an article about this 4 days ago. I guess the NBA website is kinda late posting it.
I haven't followed the news and there is really no update up until now.
Marijuana and drugs. This is a big one if proven, he will lose his job for being foolish.

Lots of rumors getting out.
Lebron James might recruit Tristian Thompson.

There are some stories about NBA players here and there, we know most of the NBA players are usually decent people because these are the people who from young age start training and improve their body and they work like a soldier every single day and when they get older they get millions of dollars and they do not need to do anything illegal and they will always have money, so you do not hear about them doing anything all that often.

However we know for a fact that at one point in his life Zach Randoplh literally managed a drug business illegally, he was caught and they sentenced someone else but obviously he was at the helm with how much he made from NBA as well. There are things like that which I think shouldn't really matter because it is individual but I am sure Malik will find a very very difficult time to get back in the league, he wasn't a good player to begin with and after this he will be done.

Yeah, his salary for the previous season was only $2 mln, and I hope too that Anthony will continue to play for Blazers next season because he looked really helpful in the first round of the playoff. Nevertheless, he has the status of a free agent at the current moment.

I think this Malik was a new player in the NBA but if you're talking about Michael Beasly I was a fan of him in the early days but I think the guy didn't prove how he's pick no.2 on the draft. He's been with LBJ on the first debut in the Miami but unluckily Beasly doesn't get a ring along and he's been drafted to Phoenix, he's been with Lakers in the 2018-19 but right now on Nets what an unexpected turn of events he could have a ring by now.

Well, we are not talking about Michael instead it was Malik, doesn't ring a bell I really thought as well that it was the Beasly I know but sad how and her wife will be on that thing. Was really the pandemic made them like this? The guy also been arrested 3 or 4 weeks ago you could read an article here and I think the guy doesn't learn some lessons.

We can all check together.

Here's his information https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/beaslma01.html

I knew it, he was playing with the Denver Nuggets for quite some time that's why he is familiar, he is not a starter AFAIR but he's been playing with quality minutes as a reserve.

Everyone is incredibly hyped about all this Nets staff things but we are talking about staff here and not the players themselves. Of course staff is a big deal, of course when you have great coaches and great assistant coaches you do get better results but lets be honest players are the ones that make a team a good team. Look at Lakers for example they had Frank Vogel and he is not a great coach at all, he is not a horrible one neither and I find him decent but he is not a master class coach at all, yet they won a championship. Look at Pop on the other hand, dude has been awesome for 20+ years and finally couldn't make the playoffs. So at the end of the day staff of Nets could be as great as it gets but the players will be the ones that will make the difference. I think KD and Irving would be a good pairing but thats about it, they are not going to make it to anywhere further with just those two, they need one more star to get the load off.

Do you think the Nets are weak on the player's side?
I want to quote myself but I freaking pressed the "delete" button instead of "quote". My bad.  Grin

I am just going to repeat it.
Dinwiddie, Allen, LeVert and Joe Harris.
These guys made a name for themselves and not because they have a star on their side.
They also made the playoffs because of their skills and hard work.
Nets might be the complete roster by now adding 2 all-around players like KD and Kyrie.

Agree with your statement, even last season when Irving was playing healthy, nets had a good standing but unfortunately Irving is just not too consistent but he will be able to share that burden to Durant once he came back and Nets are very much dangerous when everyone is playing like a real team.

Imagine what Durant and Irving can do consistently in one night, even both could score at least 20 points, this team is already a monster.

No question about that, but coach and the staff developed chemistry even you have all the best players without teamwork nothing will happen to the team, everyone  have there own role inside the team, from the management to the players they co-exist for the best interest of the team. With good partnership, the development of the franchise will move forward, if both ends are willing to work alongside with each other they will gained the desire of winning the title.

Warriors will not be able to use number two draft pick properly that is obvious, they are not going to get someone who will change the team like crazy, it is going to be a rookie and it is going to take a time for that rookie to be even decent, this is not a year where the top draft could change a team suddenly, there is no Doncic or Trae or Zion in this draft hence that draft pick doesn't worth much.
I'd like to agree with this possible drafting decision of GSW. Probably other teams would focus to other veterans that can add power to their team.

Like the example of Melo. Almost no team wants to take him until the last minute then made the team got a good progress on the bubble.

We will see if Melo is really something helpful for the Blazers as last season the Blazers have struggle.
Now, they are complete, they got their Center back, so hopefully Melo, McCulum, and Lillard would be able to bring this team to the playoffs again.

I don't see any improvement when they don't give a good fight with the Lakers.
They got almost sweep by the defending champion now.
I forgot how long his contract with them.

Lead assistant coach is Jacque Vaughn as well, I know many people talk about how Steve Nash is the head coach and how he got MDA to work with him as an assistant which will be awesome, MDA worked so hard for the past 20 years that he probably wants to take a little break and instead of just staying at home and going out to fishing which I believe is the ultimate "waiting to die" move, I guess he just wanted to continue working but lay off like 99% off the stress, and with Jac as the leading assistant coach MDA could even take days off whenever he wants to as well which will probably happen more frequently since he wants to have a relax year.

Also Tiago splitter is a player development coach there and they were looking to get barbosa as well so they are really filling the team up with staff this season.

The coach becomes the assistant coach of his ex-player.
This is something weird but let's see what will happen.
Mike D'Antoni reunites with Steve Nash as Nets' assistant coach
New Brooklyn Nets coaching staff.
1. Head Coach - Steve Nash (former Suns 2-consecutive time season MVP)
2. Asst. Coach - Ime Udoka (former asst. coach of 76ers) - specialized in defense
3. Asst. Coach - Mike D'Antoni (former Rockets coach and Suns coach of Steve Nash) specialized in offense
4. Player Devt Assistant - Amar’e Stoudemire (former Suns played with Steve Nash and coached by D'Antoni)

Look at this Brooklyn team, they are now fully packed and ready for war.  Grin

I like this one they are fully packed with the groups of friends  the personal engagements with each other will developing this team.

Announcers voices are now lingering back into my ears hearing that Nash - Stoudemire combo. We know how great the sun back then, with this two superstars, just can't push it up to win the title though since Spurs are also formed their own Big Three and they dominate that time. But now, reuniting with their former coach they will work to build this franchise with their two Superstars.

The coaching staff already have the chemistry, hopefully the players will also build the same.

Nets is a great team, they have veterans in the persons of Irving and Durant who can lead this team to the NBA Finals, that is provided both will stay healthy in the duration of the season, regular and off season. One star down will already bring a fall down to the team especially if its Durant, hopefully he has recovered well, if other players like PG did it, I believe he can as well.

For the next season, I expect that Brooklyn nets is going to be a team that is exciting to watch in the East.

Wow, I like the coaching staff.

An assistant coach specialized in defense and they also got D'Antoni who specialized in offense, great combination.
It's Steve Nash first head coaching job, it must be a pressure on his side, hoping for his success here.

I remember Jason Kidd's first head coaching job, it was a success but later things weren't going at a good path.

There's a pressure for Steve Nash since there are probabilities many will expect that he will bring a good experience on his team but this is not enough since even if Steve Nash is good on coaching but his rooster is trash still they cannot move on the higher spot next season so better to build a strong play off contender team and get those valuable free agents to  help their team on next season.

Seriously, you think Brooklyn Nets is a Trash team?

Come on dude, they are now considered as one of the best teams in the NBA, they have Durant and Irving, remember.
They qualify to the playoffs last season IIRC, and they will be back again with their best players.

betting odds don't lie.
