I was curious to find if he really wants into coaching but sadly man that wasn't on his mind as I've read one article explaining such once he retires from his career instead he wants to be a broadcaster.

Yeah, coaching might be his chance. If he does love basketball which there is no doubt then he might really do it.

Does he have an interest in coaching, I think we should know that first. I would agree 100% that he has achieved a lot in the NBA but he failed to get at least 1 championship which is the ultimate success for a player and a team. Anyway, gotta respect the guy, at his age he still managed to compete with the young players and I think he can still play but he choose to retire at this stage. Good luck to him in his journey outside the NBA.

He'll totally be missed but his legacy will forever remain on the court history of basketball. Imagine he played for 4 different decades that's already a record-breaking and one of the oldest players to play in his NBA career, Olympic medals, and much more though he haven't got a ring. What's your hunch guys, will he be a coach for NBA or some minor leagues? I think it has a possibility, who knows he might get a ring if he does.

Vince retires with a successful 22-year career. A superstar who ranked the 10 best dunks in his career.
The pandemic accelerated his retirement and I think he made a very wise decision.
There is too much uncertainty in the NBA. The virus is present anywhere, affecting people very close to them.

Vince is one of my favorite players, it was a pleasure to watch his game. I remember his first seasons in the NBA when, together with his cousin Tracy McGrady, they led the Raptors to the playoffs for the first time. They did not achieve great success, but this young team was great to watch. It is a pity that VC does not have a championship title in his collection, but unlike many veterans, in recent years of his career he chose weaker teams like Grizzlies, Kings or Hawks, where he could count on more minutes on the floor and to help young players. Respect for him for this choice.

Which is a big problem.
If one of those players went to a populated place or infected even just 1 person.
How would that person know he or she is already infected too.
Put in the news. It doesn't matter. Pride is not something to keep now. We must all help each other.
There is no shame in that, it's a good thing to trace it easily.

That's what I have mentioned from my last post, the resume of the season might become less interesting to watch due to players who opted out not to play, plus these players who came out positive. Though these players could still recover since we have like more than a month left before the resume. If the NBA could isolate all the participating individuals inside the facility where they planned to resume the season (In Orlando I guess? Disney world?) as early as the first week of July, then they could successfully bring 80-90% of players to play for the season resume.
Nevertheless, the NBA resume remains uncertain with the rising number of covid positive players. Things doesn't seem to go their way so far.

Cousins already said that he will not be playing for any team this season and just going to wait out this pandemic playoff and he is going to see if he can land a team next year. Its still going to be very hard for him to get a deal because everyone knows how injury prone he is and any team that pays him knows that there is a chance that he will get injured and they will pay him for nothing, so he is not going to get a big deal. However I am sure he will get some offers even if its minimum or not and no way he will be out of the league this early, its just about who he will sign with. Wouldn't it be weird if he ends up signing with Kings again? They are doing very well thanks to the trade they did to send Cousins and if he goes back on Free Agency that team will be quite quite good.

Waived by the Lakers, if he plays, which team do you think he would suit this postseason?

Most of them might be asymptomatic as they have a good immune system, but there is test that would determine if you have the been infected or not, that's why the list keeps adding, so let's just see how long this list will be and wait for the decision of the NBA.

As of now, there's no announcement yet whether the latest list of infected players would affect the reopening of the season, but IMO, they will  not get affected with this and they will go as plan.

If I'm not mistaken, Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings, and Indiana Pacers are few of the teams that resume their practice in their respective facilities last month, with the exception of Jokic as he is on his country, Serbia. Although it's not a team practice (limit of 4 players on the court), still, some players exposed with the one who has a virus. Contract tracing will be tough.

To add to the list;

- aside from Sacramento King's Jabari Parker and Buddy Hield, their teammate Alex Len was also tested positive.
- Derrick Jones Jr. from the Miami Heat is the recent one who got tested positive to the virus.

I'm sure these players will be fine in a couple of weeks just like others NBA players who got cleared with the virus since the pandemic virus struck the NBA. Almost just a month before the NBA tip-off, for sure these players will be healthy.

But my concern is, will NBA still push for the resume if more players are tested positive (from those participating teams). I mean, obviously, teams can play without these infected players (considered as injury) however it will bring an impact on the overall team performance especially if the player/s involved is a star or good role player.

Vince Carter Announces His Retirement

Vince Carter, one of my early favorite players in the league and the reason why I always pick the number 15 jersey in some basketball league I've participated in the past. His retirement is expected this season. Lucky to have a chance to see him in person way back when he visits our country, fortunately, one of their events held on my Alma Mater.

He is receiving a standing ovation for 2 seasons if I'm not mistaken as teams thought that will be his last season, so at least he experienced it lol.

With more players added to the infected cases of the CoVid-19, we cannot be sure if they really need to resume the season with this state or not. I think with this latest news, they need to have an urgent meeting to consider their decision because more players will be at risk. we cannot tell if they are not a carrier of this virus because some might asymptomatic all this time and they can only pass the virus to others. I think until they can find a complete vaccine of this virus, they need to suspend the game.

I think all of these cases are starting right now because before these days players were let alone and just warned to be careful, there was nothing that teams would care about and since players were "at home" and not playing there was no need to rush them into getting better.

Now that we are starting up in a month teams want all of their players healthy which means they will start practicing and start training very soon and that requires players to get tested and the players who test positive would have to go home and not go outside until they recover (which they should have done already to not get it to begin with) and at the end of the day all of these players will recover in a month, recovery is usually around 10 days and in a month they will be fully recovered and not infected anymore and will be capable of playing without infecting anyone else.

It would hurt NBA a lot of there is no continuation of the season. Hundreds of millions USD lost, thousands of jobs, salary caps going down next year etc..so yeah, it would be pretty big hit. And current situation doesn't look too good, I would say that we are much further now from the July 31st than we were couple of weeks ago.


This list is just a tip of iceberg I am afraid, there will be much more players tested positive in the coming weeks. But maybe it is blessing in disguise, those players that got positive now will be safer later on, and won't get virus again. I guess it works that way.

If this grows in a huge amount of players being positive then we might not really see an NBA this year. I hope not.

Like I said, maybe most of them are not having the symptoms or their bodies can take it since they are all physically healthy.
Not just NBA, it will be the government which will stop to resume the game.

Not sure, but I don't think NBA would dare to resume if they knew the whole league is at risk of getting infected. These players that are now crawling out carrying the virus had been already isolated away from anybody. And for sure, contact tracing has already been done  .

They have to be certain that all were virus free from to teams, and upto the staffs that is involve in this upcoming date though, or else they would be prevented by some higher authorities from allowing the game to resume.

Yes it might, and it will not only hurt the NBA but it will also affect the profit that sports book are going to make if the NBA will resume.
I'm just saying my disappointment upon seeing the news, but you know, business are more important than lives for some, so I guess NBA will resume even if a lot of us will disagree on that.

My question is, will does it hurt the NBA at all not to open this year or maybe the upcoming months? I think if more and more players opt-out to play that will force them to postpone it, anyway, I wouldn't consider if the champion this time the real deal not until we saw the home-court advantage like what we always anticipate to see.

I guess this is not good anymore, it's just one day since Jokic was reported positive and we are seeing more.. I don't know, if I said that I'm excited about the NBA season to resume before, maybe I would like to change my mind now and I hope that they will just postpone their reopening.
