There is also the fact that MJ was literally the best player by far on a Bulls team that went 72-10 and that shows how awesome he was during a period where almost all teams were good as well, tanking wasn't really so obviously done as much as today and dude was just whole levels above everyone else. I hate it when people keep saying MJ didn't had help or Lebron didn't had help etc because these teammates all provide something but as soon as MJ left, that team tanked as much as Cavs tanked after Lebron as well.
I could agree with you on this, best players when they left will result to a disaster of the team.
When Lebron first left the cavaliers, the team tank, but when he rejoined, the team dominated in the East and even won a championship once, now he left, Cavaliers became a bad team and he made the Lakers great since joined with the Lakers, so we can say that Lebron is a special player who can carry a team like MJ, but TBH IMO, MJ is better than LBJ.

Not a hater of Lebron but actually he doesn't dominate alone since if you look up on the rooster which team he belongs you can see that he always want to get a strong player to play on his side, And look what he did in cleveland? He trade the potential and left when the boat is sinking  and now he go with lakers and do his best to acquire Davis and other stars to help him save his legacy, So in that thing we can never compare him with MJ since he is far to him and discussion will end unto that since the real goat is MJ.

We are talking about a 72-10 team becoming a mocking stock in just 1-2 years after he left, he was that good. Remove Curry from Warriors and they are still decent, not a horrible team, surely not a championship team at all, but not horrible neither. Plus Cavs suck right now because Lebron left but give them Kyrie back and a bit younger Love and you got yourself a mediocre team as well, maybe even push for a playoff if east is weak that year. MJ was just a player who literally was the best individual player I have ever seen, maybe you can find a better team player but nobody played the game as well as he played it.

Explained well.

Individual. That is the definition of being a GOAT. You can make an offensive push even if the best defensive player caught you.
He had been harassed, pushed, grabbed, and more ways to be stopped buy yet he could still make a shot.

But still, it takes a team to make a champion. It also takes a good coach to make it possible.
The Bulls have them both.
When Jordan is suffering from a fever, Pippen was there and so is Kukoc.
It's like fate brought them to make a great history.

We can "assume" he would be good anyway but also the fact that dude basically played the best possible way he could play for his period and for his time.

People shot a lot of midranges during his era and he was the best at doing just that, he didn't grew up in an era where everyone shot threes, actually nobody really grew up that much during that period, we are talking about league moving from that to three pointers since 2013-2014 period and someone who got drafted last year would have been probably 13-14 years old by that time and players usually learn what to do by that time, sure there could be some people who jacked up their shooting numbers but it is still the newest strategy in the book so far.

If Michael Jordan was a 2000 born player and grew up with today's technology and today's practice methods and today's love for three pointers, he would have worked on that instead of his isolation midrage fadeaways, which he would have perfected since he is a very hard working person and was quite talented as well.
Agree to that, MJ's mentalities is always to be the best, if he was playing in this era where shooting outside like Curry makes the game change then he will be the best competitor curry will have. MJ wants to be the very best and he always shows that from each games that he played from this league. The strong will to win and to be the very best will always be inside him both mind and heart.

Better to have a copy of this. There will be times when you just want to watch how great MJ is. Specially this quarantine times.
Also, a good display in a furniture near your television.  Grin

I wish I have some source to download those, anyway, watching it all at once is good rather than waiting for another episode to come. just like my way of watching anime episodes, I let it all end the season before I start downloading. MJ prime is amazing, it'll be fun to watch with NBA fans like my dad.

For sure this will be available for download soon, but hopefully you'll still have that kind of excitement of you'll not be busy when that time comes.
you know, if the pandemic is over, we can again room outside like we usually do and we tend to focus on other things, as for me, I'll be more focus with gambling, lol...

hopefully you guys are not bored right now because me, I'm already bored..

It's downloadable now in Netflix but you know that is only for offline like Spotify.
It is not like you really own it.
The expiry date for it is like 30 days if I am not mistaken.
Better though, than streaming it live which might get lags for most of the time.

Are you talking about the last dance which is a currently hot tv series all over the internet because it is recently released in this morning. It is the documentary about the legacy of the Jordan especially with the year 1996-1997. Probably that NBA starts like Lebron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden and many more are watching it.
I really miss the NBA now and also I really miss to gamble some amount of money, I know that the things will go back to normal where we can see that the NBA will operate normally again. In that way we can bet again and make money online.

Have done it before.
But, I just borrowed the copy from a friend and I immediately finished it in just 3 days if I remember correctly.

^ Coming from the guy who is a well-known killer beyond the arc, that's something. With today's rule, I don't think Jordan would need to improve on his three-point shooting. He can surely exploit the spaces in the perimeter given how the floor is spread in today's game. Anyway, we can just assume here since this isn't happening.
Exactly, the game has really evolve, from a physical game to now a very soft game and that is evident by players trying to make more outside attempts than going inside the paint. Just like the big man, supposedly they will master the inside scoring, but some big man now, also try to improve their 3 point shooting, so I think as the NBA continues, we will see teams more reliant to 3 point shooting.

Will definitely watch this.
I only have "The Essentials" for now and I want all the volumes of Michael Jordan. (Airtime, Come Fly With Me, etc..)

That DVD brings so many memories, and the ducktape on the side. Damn!

I just want to preserve the box from being torn apart.  Grin

I hope the kids in this time will also see this show.
There might be another "Michael Jordan" kid out there which will be inspired of how great a basketball player could be and how fans are screaming for him.
Someone who will love the game as much as Michael and Kobe.

It's getting a lot of attention now.
Quote
When people compare LeBron and Jordan, the different eras in which they play(ed) is always a focal point. The general old-school sentiment is that it was harder to score in Jordan's era because the defense was more physical and the game was slower, but a common counter to that is the athletes are better these days and Jordan, who shot just 32.7 percent from 3 for his career, wouldn't thrive quite as much in 3-point heavy league.

Kevin Durant says nonsense to that. Speaking with Jay Williams on the ESPN show "The Boardroom," Durant was asked where he thought Jordan would fit into today's NBA hierarchy.

"He can adapt his game to anything," Durant said. "He would fit in as the best player in the league. That's what he would be. He would have more possessions to do more things. More space for M.J. to go to work. We'll never know, but for sure he's a masterful basketball player, and like we've been saying his skill level is unmatched."

I haven't watched Fab Five before, I didn't even know those players were all at the same team neither, from even just the comments I just read about it, they basically changed the recruitment and rule processes in the NCAA world with how they were, I also really really love Webber so I will definitely be watching it for sure.

Plus, the last dance would be awesome as well, that is the last year they were all together and that was one hell of a great team, I know when you look at it at today's perspective and see them playing so slow you might think that game is changed and that team would be destroyed today but if they played a faster pace basketball with that talent, I believe they would be unstoppable, think of Jordan shooting 40+ times a game, that dude would average over 50 points a game.

I'll see if I can the highlights on YouTube after tge show, I sure wouldn't be chanced to follow this week's live.

Probably not the worst idea, each episode is 1 hour long minus all the ads and breaks, you'll definitely save some time.

Will definitely watch this.

Anyway, I will try to watch it as well and relive their magical moments particularly how Steve Kerr pull off the winning shot Smiley.

Kerr's winning shot was one year earlier, 1997 finals. In 98 MJ scores the game-winner over Bryon Russell.

Not sure if I have seen this documentary

It's a premiere!

Ah man, the NBA playoffs were supposed to start today, 18th April.  Embarrassed

Anyway, something that may cheer you up, ESPN will air "The Last Dance", a documentary following Michael Jordan and Bulls 1997-98 season. Five consecutive Sundays and 10 total episodes starting off tomorrow April 19th at 9 p.m. Eastern. Director is Jason Hehir, "The Fab Five" and a few other memorable '30 for 30' documentaries.
Ahh, actually I saw this recently on Pewdiepie's MyDay (on youtube). I get confused at first because he supposed to share about video games and stuff, right? Grin. Anyway, I will try to watch it as well and relive their magical moments particularly how Steve Kerr pull off the winning shot Smiley.

Not sure if I have seen this documentary but definitely I have seen the Fab Five already.

Yes, probably love to watch those again, I still remember one of my very first time watching NBA games  thru internet was around '97. And I vividly remember staying in office during weekends just to be able to watch NBA games and the Finals back then because I don't have internet that time at home.  Smiley

Not sure what would be the resolution that time, hopefully we can see some HD like video of this match.
Personally, I've not watch those games yet as I am not so active in watching NBA that time though I know Jordan and I also believe he was the greatest NBA player on his era, but as of now, it's Kobe Bryant which I think the best,.. disclaimer : it's my personal opinion only.

Anyway, going to to watch this.
