The discussion of who is the GOAT will never end. The best thing to do is to keep it with yourself and not to argue since you'll be having lots of arguments, a never ending arguments.

Yeah, maybe that is just how it is going to be.
Still, I find it amazing for a player reaching the peak of his game. One of it is by taking that Most Defensive Player of the Year and then ending up a champion also.
MJ did that, just so to prove that is not just offense which could win the NBA and also to prove that he is a guy who really plays defense once on the floor.
Kawhi did that too. But it looks like everyone has forgotten it already.

Voted just now because after seeing the game between the Lakers and the Clippers, I think I already have my favorite team for this season, and that is the clippers. Lakers looks like the same team who can't hang on especially in the 4th quarter and Leonard looks very serious with his another mission to win a championship.

I thought Lakers has the edge since PG was sitting, but it was a complete opposite of my expectation that happens because Leonard is proving he can still carry his team without PG, so let's think of his, what if he will come back soon?

Have the same theory.
Leonard's eyes is on the prize. He want that championship once again and now for his hometown which will be sweeter than what he did with San Antonio and Toronto.
It is going to be the closure of too many questions about him.
They still say he ain't that worthy for being the GOAT but with him winning another championship just tells everything. No more questions about his skills.

Anyway, nice performance by Kawhi Leonard scoring 30 points that game with nice percentage. Probably the lack of team chemistry brought Lakers down in this game. But, congratulations to Danny Green for making points this game and shooting at a good percentage. That's above 60 or 70 I think? He really is a great addition with Lakers. A little bit shock but quite saw this outcome for clippers to win the game because of having a better line up. Remember they have a lot of role players and just so you know the other star haven't stepped his foot on the floor just yet.

Seems that the odds of Clippers to win the League are higher after watching the game against Lakers last night! And Leonard Khawi have a great performance with 30 points, last year we see that he's carrying Toronto Raptors and now he's helping Clippers and do a great job.

... Clippers being prepared enough surprising the Lakers from this opening game. Seems that they are much hunger as we seen how they played, Leonard still very impressive leading the team
with handwork from all ends giving his team mates the boost that's needed to show good quality minutes while inside the court.

This is not surprising at all. Clippers already made the playoffs last year and now you are adding Kawhi to their offense and defense. It is not just hunger, they are just the better LA team right now.

How about put a little blame to Lebron, he was under performing in this game and in the 2nd half he wasn't really shooting well.
Actually only Green and Davis who are really performing well in that game against the whole team of the Clippers.

Lebron only scored 18 points, that clearly says he struggle in the game because he usually score more than 20 points.
We can also attribute his poor performance to Clippers awesome defense. Kawhi did a good job guarding Lebron.

Well, yeah thats almost automatic, if I recall it correctly, Lebron only scored 2 points in the last quarter. I stopped watching when the score was 107 - 95+ or somewhere near that figure, with under 3 minutes left in the clock.
I was really disappointed with the result, infact, not because of Green's help the lead would've probably stretched to 20 points.
Although, I believed that was just another off-night from Lebron. Too bad It happened in the opening night with Paul George's absence.

Leonard is really on a different level, we saw him carrying Toronto last year, and the fans booed him when he was introduced and when he talked. But it doesn't bother him at all, missing his early shots and then coming off with seven straight. That's Leonard that we have known since his San Antonio days. Just focusing on the game and bringing that W.
He is full of confidence now and I think Clippers will really boost their stats this season.
Lou Williams, Paul George, and Kawhi  are all real threats, they are consistent with their shooting and we've also seen the effort of Beverly and Montrezl Harrell in their first game that's why the defense has really improve, they're really scary as an opponent and might end up the leaders in the ranking this season.

Not a Laker hater but it seems they can't get their acts together. However, it's just one game, maybe they have some ring rust and of course the chemistry is still in question.

The Lakers got beaten by the Clippers at the Staples center. I don't know why they keep Caldwell-pope in the game where he always throw away the ball. Also I don't see McGee in the whole second half of the game. I think it's the coach that's making this look ugly for the Lakers to play their debut in this season.
Hope you noticed as well that it's not only Caldwell-pope but even Lebron keeps throwing the ball, Clippers being prepared enough surprising the Lakers from this opening game. Seems that they are much hunger as we seen how they played, Leonard still very impressive leading the team

Aside from Lebron and KCP's sloppy ball handling security, but its the Clippers good performance in the game as a team that gave them the huge W. This team is undoubtedly still a good defensive team, while the Lakers plays no defense in the final quarter.

I dont want to see the Lakers struggle again this season, Im hoping they could figure out how their team improve on both ends of the floor. They should've a solid defense in the paint since they have a big line up.
Maybe, I'll give my final judgement to the Lakers team when Kuzma gets back to the game.

I voted for Los Angeles Clippers because it's my favorite team. I really hope this will be their season.
Kawhi Leonard is a fantastic player and he could be the leader the Clippers needed to become stronger and more competitive.

LeBron & AD doesn't light up much in the Second Half, especially after the third quarter. A pretty good debut for AD but even more so for Kawhi. AD scored 25 PTS, 10 REB, 5 AST & 2 BLK while Kawhi puts up 30 PTS, 6 REB, 5 AST & 2 STL. Overall, both teams played damn well. salute to the Clippers bench, they scored a total of 60 Points! Best bench in the NBA last season and perhaps this season as well. Relax, the two teams are not Full Power because Paul George and Kyle Kuzma still haven't played for their team. They will meet 2 more times in the Regular Season (hopefully also in the Playoffs). Clippers 1-0 Lakers.

This would be the time that Lebron James will get again his MVP on the NBA year 2020 because as what I've seeing in the peformance of the Lakers they are very good in the offense of their team but their defenses is kind of weak or not strong enough. But I am still hoping that this time Lebron James will get his NBA champion and MVP this season. Probably he will carry again his team into the championship. Go Lakers!

Clippers vs Lakers was also  a good game, this season will  be most fun to watch in years. Clippers showed why they are main contenders, and they were without their 2nd best player tonight. When Paul George comes back in a month or so, it will look even better.
It was an entertaining match. Defense was tough and it was like a playoff match. I particularly like Beverly's hustle towards the end of the game which made a lot of difference.

It's not like that. The coach has no business making a player look ugly. It's his job to select a line up that will work against the Clipper and they did well in the third without McGee.

They did well in the third but they collapse on the fourth with Pope making most of the turn overs. It's better to have McGee cleaning for the boards and looseballs than having that KCP on the floor.

Pascal Siakam looking good at the first game for the defending champ. The Raptors are gonna need performances like that from him to even have a chance at reaching the Finals again.

Meanwhile at Golden State, S. Kerr thinks Klay is unlikely to return this season.

Yep, Siakam showing that he will be the boss of the Raptors in years to come. But I must say that Pelicans didn't look bad at all, and it will look even better when Williamson comes back.

LAC vs LAL are tied after 3 quarters. Danny Green was on fire for the LAL (5 for 5 beyond the arc)!

~snip
Pascal Siakam is most likely to become a candidate to play for the all-star game this year. 18 boards and 34 pts is a spectacular season opener performance. I've already seen his potential during the 2019 NBA finals against the Warriors, and I was thinking, he's gonna be a superstar in the making.
If he can be consistent then I don't see any reason why he couldn't be in the All-Star selection.
