The team management should be working on reducing his weight just like what you thought he should do. I believe that Zion Williamson has something in him that the Pelicans choose him as first overall and they should work on what lacking in him.

Don't be so worried about that weight, Zion was known as zion for what he is and with that weight of his, he has a very good preseason stats.
It will not be easy to change everything, there's a lot of things to consider that only the trainer or his conditioning coach would know.

He will be back soon and we will see him play in the regular season.
With that said, I believe that Pelicans is a team that we should watch, they might not be in the playoffs but for sure they will try to compete.

This is actually one weakness that I've thought about this kid. His knees won't be able to hold up with that body weight and those high jumps. He should be fine for a couple of years of highly competitive games but his career will probably last less than 10 years if he is not going to change his playing style as he grows older.
I disagree with you, the problem he has is his weight. he doesn't need to change the way he plays or his playing style. Well, one solution for Zion in order to have a long career is to lose weight so as not to hurt his legs again. Weighing now at 285 pounds, one of the toughest players in the NBA.
He will have to change his playing style once he loses his explosiveness or quickness to still become an effective player. Or do you still expect him to rely heavily on those aspects of his game after five years?
In my opinion, Zion is not a good shooter. he can play with his style as it is now only with a lighter weight. because the current style with a hard dunk is very entertaining.
I realize that his playing style does not suit his current body, it can make him injured. and in my opinion, the solution is he should reducing his weight.

Mate, that is why I said this in the first place

Even if he loses his weight, his athleticism will never be the same once he gets older. He will need to add more into his game to last longer in the NBA. Otherwise, no team would want some old player who only knows how to dunk.
in my opinion Zion is too overated. with the spotlight and the news that only focus on him as a rookie and draft pick number 1, surely he has a heavy burden. I prefer Ja Morantcurrent style of play, he has good speed and effectiveness and is a good shooter.

Chicago was kind enough to let him retire peacefully. I hope he got smart with the money he got from playing and not end up broke with life after NBA.
Well, that's another case, I wish that he won't be the same as Allen Iverson after the retirement.

I guess that he has enough knowledge on how to deal with the next chapter of his life after his NBA career.

Best thing to do after retirement is putting up business to sustain the lifestyle they currently have. These NBA veterans probably has a financial advisor (if they choose to, and that's the wisest thing to do.)
I guess its easy for them to put up a basketball clinic and training camps for all ages, since they have played the best basketball league in the world. That idea will most likely to sell a lot.
Good idea.

Just like Yao Ming when he retired, he became an ambassador and that fits probably his now point of view. There will still be some opportunity for this retired veterans as long as they will allow their doors open.

How old are you? maybe you missed those good old days when he's still playing at his peak?
Probably he have watched Luol Deng play, since It was in the 2010's when he's in the best days of his career.
But, didnt recognize how much effort and contribution Deng made in Chicago.
Those glory days, oh boy oh boy. He has been with the nicest era IMHO.

Well, Im a fan of superstars as well as those underrated players. Let me guess, Kobe fan?  Grin or prime D.Rose?
Both but more of Kobe fan especially when they were always on the finals. And his legacy will forever be attached to the Lakers, I hope this time that the team can comeback as before because of their strong roster.

A bit off topic I guess.
With the upcoming retirement of Luol Deng. Who's feeling a bit sad here that our childhood superstars are retiring? I won't mention the other superstars that have already retired but many of them are part of our childhood. Sorry for bringing nostalgia to this thread.
I watched him play but he is not really a superstar so it did not mark a lot to me.
Maybe if Lebron will retire than I would feel sad because we know he is the king in the NBA and he has a lot of fans although he also has a lot of haters.
How old are you? maybe you missed those good old days when he's still playing at his peak?

Luol Deng was one of the best piece in the Chicago Bulls, who competed with Lebron in Miami. He became a superstar twice and was included in NBA all defensive 2nd team. He didnt get too much attention and was underrated because of D Rose's presence in Chicago.
He's like the Lamar Odom of Chicago, remember how Odom became a perfect complement for Kobe?

It looks like we have to postpone seeing Zion play at the start of the Regular Season week because he reportedly suffered a knee injury suffered during the preseason and is expected not playing for several weeks.

We dont know that.
But if he could afford anything and just requires a good retirement then I guess we could say that he is still in good position financially.

But it doesnt matter anymore, a round of applause after his statement will be remembered forever in Chicago and that is all worth it than money.
Yeah, we have no idea about that but I'm wishing all the best to him and if ever I'll meet him in the future, I'll be glad to approach him and thank him for his contribution because he's part of the generation of NBA superstars.

Hats off to him, I guess we have to move on to next topic.

To reduce injuries, NBA should seriously reconsider shortening regular part of the season. I know that money is always an issue, and owners and sponsors are worried that they would loose too much money, but what we have now when top players are dosing their playtime during regular season ain't fun either, so many games look like exhibition.
And we all know that real stuff starts at playoff, so in the end we would have more interesting regular season, and healthier players in playoffs. Win-win situation.

This is not a good idea. Injuries are part of the game, where in fact players are payed to give their all no matter the consequences are. Shortening the games of the regular season does not benefit anyone since their revenue will only deteriorate.

I know this much, just judging from the NBA Preseason. I am liking the Chicago Bulls bench. One of there bench guys can shoot hell of 3 pointers. They stomped The Toronto Raptors the other day. I honestly think after last years season the Bulls need to play their bench. It is obviouse they are better!

They might be better but tops they are a #8 or #7 seed in the east.  They need some more pieces to start to contend.  I do like Wendell carter, he is a blue collar type of player every team needs.  I hope he develops into a good player.  Another duke kid who was great to watch in college too.  If they win 41 games this year and break even that is a win for them
