I think blazers need a coaching change more so than any player improvement. At one point they had an amazing lineup with Dame-CJ-Evan-Harkless-Aminu-Nurkic and even Collins. That team could have had serious chances of becoming champions if it wasn't the beast years of warriors, same team right now with an amazing coach like Steve Kerr or Greg Pop would be able to get a ring this year I am 100% sure about it.

It all depends on how you play a player more than how a player plays, Steve Kerr saw his team and realized what he had so he made his decision about how they would be playing, Blazers never had a stable coach that would be capable of moving the team into a system that would optimize the talents of their best players to be used, its just pure ISO at this point.

Forget about Denver, they are still the same team but we know what they are capable in the playoffs, they got beaten by the Blazers which was swept by the Warriors in the WCF, so they are not counted as one of the best team to have a chance to win in the NBA finals.
Don't sleep on the Denver team. They are silent but they are very deadly, they are up there with SA, Blazers, Lakers, Clippers, Warriors. Also, don't underestimate the one year experience added to Jokic and the whole team.

I am supposed to say that also until I read your reply. Thanks for saving me some effort to defend Denver.
Portland is a strong team so it aint a shame to lose with them. Lillard is now on his prime and maybe he will do better this year and is aiming for the crown.
But still, when it comes to team plays it is Denver who have the 2nd greatest next to Pops.
Even with their roster they became one of the top in the West and also they won against the best coach of the league defeating San Antonio Spurs.

Don't sleep on the Denver team. They are silent but they are very deadly
Yes, they are deadly. Many people are still doubting them because they don't have popular superstar players but they are a tough team to beat.

Don't go there. Before, GSW dont have any star on their midst. They just became stars after winning a championship.
And hey, dont forget about the 2004 Detroit Pistons. No stars, just pure defense.
This is what Michael Malone is trying to pull by now.

Does any team interested in signing melo? I think he is interested in teaming up with Durant and Irving in Brooklyn. But I guess his career is over this time because of his injuries.

With that said, I think Blazers should also be in the discussion here, CJ and Lillard are still the top two scoring guards in my opinion.
They will have their time. If Blazers can follow what the Warriors did in adding pieces to their two best backcourt shooters, they will be more dangerous. They badly need some players who can defend well and score at the same time.
That's important, but what improvements they have done so far?
It seems like there's no big movement within the team and they just rely on their best players to still dictate the future of blazers this coming season.
I'm saying they will not have the same success they had in the last playoffs because it's a different west now, a more improve one.

Beverley and Iggy, what a combination in defense. It will be great if they acquire him.
Kawhi, Iggy and Beverly have a same quality of skills they are all a big threat both defensively and offensively, signing Iggy will be a good move for Clippers, they are aiming for much higher chances for this season together with Kawhi they also need a backup support with a star quality skills which
is entitled describing Iggy, with Zubac, Harrell,George, and Williams  it's an interesting team to watch out.

Doc Rivers needs to build good chemistry  and allow the team to form a solid teamwork  with good ball rotations.

Oh I almost forgot, I only pointed Iggy and Beverley as defensive players while their stars are really the best of it.
Yes, Kawhi and PG13 are one of the best defensive units in NBA and Kawhi already won the defensive player of the year.

The Clippers team will be like a wall to the Lakers but let us not forget also about Denver.
3 teams are now the crowd favorite. Clippers, Lakers and Bucks.
They are forgetting about what Denver Nuggets did last season.
Their defense is also one of the best and it will be great to see them head to head against the Clippers team.

I agree, Denver is good but we all know that Blazers beat them because Denver is somewhat all Jokic, Lol. As far as Iggy goes if Clippers are going to snag him then that's against upgrade to the team. And I think we will see him and Lebron guarding against each other again if ever those two are going to clash specially in playoffs.

With that said, I think Blazers should also be in the discussion here, CJ and Lillard are still the top two scoring guards in my opinion.

I have my favorite team but I also like Denver, however, I don't see them beating the favorites this season.
Jokic alone can't give them success in the playoffs, we've seen enough in the last playoffs, Blazers were successful against them because they have a lot of scorers compared to Denver. Also, Jokic already scored his usual scoring, but not enough to help his team, he need someone who is reliable enough to help him score, Blazers had Damian Lillard, CJ, and Kanter (paying with injury), but they can't beat the team.
They don't have to beat your favorite team, someone else might beat them Cheesy but joking aside, it's not like they were beaten badly by the Blazers. It was a very close series and the loss may also be attributed to the inexperience of Jokic and some of the team members. Things could have been different if he had the same number of high level playing years with Dame.

I think they would have to give up something and they wouldn't want to give up anything for an aging Iggy. I have said this during all of playoffs and I am saying again Iggy wasn't a good player last year. Not just playoffs, he wasn't good all season. He still has a bit of defense left in him but he is just a huge void on offense and that is really not worth the time he gets.

Plus, clippers have a great lineup right now, PatBev-LWill-PG13-Kawhi-Harrel. That five is probably the best lineup in the league, they are literally bringing the defense back to NBA, it reminds me of the 2004 pistons times but during those years Pistons didn't had a superstar, the team as a general was good but no individual player was superstar, here in clippers they have Kawhi which is going for a GOAT debate if he wins a ring this year too and maybe PG13 could be considered a star too.

None of them have a superstar ego as far as I know and that will make it easier for Doc to make their roster work.

Anyone read the rumors that the Clippers is close to signing Iguodala? That's probably the best line up for next season if the Clips land him. Imagine how many good/great two-way players they have.
Havent heard of this but if this is a rumor lately, sure he will be a good part to the team's roster.

A good team and having him is a plus.

Iguodala was never been a liability in any team he joined AFAIR, so I don't think if the Clippers are still capable they would not sign Iguodala.
Leonard is good, they have a leader now that is team oriented, so with a improvement, it will make them a better team which is hard to beat.

They have to prepare a good team in the west and having a veteran with multiple championship experience is a big plus factor for the team, I wonder if their betting odds to be the champ might increase once this guy is gonna be on board.

He is really a good addition to the team, I mean we have seen what he can do as a Golden State Warriors, specially in defence. But you can't totally sleep on his offence as well and he can deliver big time plays. He will probably came as a six man again with Clippers but definitely he will having him will give Clippers a lot of options here.

Clippers will become more better if they will acquire Iguodala, I remember that both Leonard and Iguodala have success when depending Lebron James, in fact, they all won as Finals MVP against Lebron's team. So it will be good for the Clippers defensively, and Iguodala is a veteran so he can provide great energy for the team, and hopefully he will not face injury problems so he can play a lot of games to help his team.

Clippers is surely gonna make it to the playoffs even without Iguodala, but Iguodala is a big help for the playoffs due to its experience and skill as well.

Yes, will be a good addition in defense.
Despite all the injuries that Iguodala has taken he is still with average speed that can take on some players in their prime and even young ones.
That winning steal against Lillard will not be forgotten which made them win the a game on WCF against Portland.
Add also the insights that he could give to all the players there about defense and footwork. He is not one of those types that you could just break an ankle in dribbling.
Beverley and Iggy, what a combination in defense. It will be great if they acquire him.

While we are talking about salaries and contracts, here is a one good example to it.

Kawhi Leonard and CJ McCollum which are now 2 of the best in the league are now earning 9 digits with their total salary.
Even being almost last prospect for being a good basketball player, they still made it through.

https://www.celebritynetworth.com/articles/sports-news/kawhi-leonard-and-cj-mccollum-were-barely-on-the-radar-coming-out-of-high-school-and-they-each-signed-nine-figure-deals-this-offseason/?amp=1

CJ McCollum deserve the contract, he is so consistent and he can help his team win in crunch time.
One of the best back court duo in the NBA is CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard, and they are the reason why the Blazers are consistently going in the playoffs.

I hope next season they will improve more because the competition is getting higher, they reach the Western conference finals against the Warriors but this coming season, we have a much more improve Lakers, Rockets, and the Clippers, that's a tough job for them beating any of the aforementioned team.
