If I am the Lakers management then I will pick Iggy too. Lebron got no say to this. He aint like Kobe who can control which player to get or whom to pick. Yeah, they are close but the Lakers management wants a championship and not some dramatic number 7 for entertainment only. Grin

Lakers doesnt need much of an offensive guy, they already got 2 of the best in their midst. Defense might really be the key and when we talk about defense Iggy had made a lot of defensive winning moments.

I would agree on that brony thing that only Kobe can control which play to get or pick. They really need Iggy on the team to be get some more defensive tactics along their side. Hope they can read this thread lmao.
If giving them a chance Iggy is one of those best pick to be added from the team, It will bring good defensive weapon plus the fact that Iggy also is a good offensive player if the team needed him to operate then he'll be able to deliver, Lakers will be more entertaining to watch if the coaching staff will be able to work things out with this new squad.

I have a feeling that Lakers will get Iggy.  Grin. Iggy is a good addition to the team specially in defense and clutch plays. And it will be good to see how Iggy will shutdown either Klay (once he played and recovered from injury) or even to some extend Curry, his former team mates.  Grin

I feel old now starting when Kobe retires. -_-

I feel you bro. Same Era where Dunks are raining.

Carmelo Anthony is definitely on the Lakers plan. However, they are working now with another small forward. Yes, with Andre Igoudala. Memphis Grizzlies is expected to trade him as they didn't really intend to keep this veteran since his departure from the Golden State Warriors.

As far as the latest rumors are a concern, we can expect an update this week until next couple of weeks.

It's official. Vince carter has signed a one year deal with the Atlanta Hawks. Next season will also be his "last dance". Good for him, he deserves all the standing ovation he'll get from all courts he plays.

And who do you think the Lakers would trade to for Iggy? For sure the Grizzlies will be expected to demand for a key player. I think the Lakers is pretty solid now if everyone is healthy in the opening of the season. From the starting five, down to the bench.
Anyway, Melo is a good addition too, if he have accepted the fact that he wont be in the starting line up anymore. He will be great in the 2nd squad for the Lakers though.

No chance for the Raptors now, and he could retire with the hawks I guess.

This guy also set a record as well - Vince Carter returning to Atlanta Hawks for record-setting 22nd NBA season

I was searching how much he will receive for this contract but could not find, anyone?
Base on this site --> https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/ATL.html

He'll receive around $2.3M.

That's still a reasonable amount for a veteran who does not have to play a lot of minutes, it's most likely his popularity is getting paid for, and I'm pretty sure that investment will have a good ROI since he could attract the crowd. He is just an intelligent player to last that long season in the NBA and he has really improve his 3 point shooting and he can step up whenever he is called for the team to help.

Toronto Raptors can now finally create a tribute video knowing that the upcoming season is the final NBA journey of Vince Carter. As I mentioned before, Raptors crowd did some standing ovation on him last season thinking that will be Carter's last game at their arena. And now, since it's official, no confusions on their part now and can now finally bid an official farewell tribute.

Are we just forgetting about Jamal Crawford at this point? I mean yeah Carmelo is an important storyline, but Jamal's dropped 50 on his last game as well - not too shabby, eh?

Clippers should sign him back on a vet minimum or something.

Yeah, he can't play defense but he can entertain the hell out of any crowd still and he's looking younger every year.

After getting PG and KL, the Clippers don't really need him especially that Lou Williams is still with them.
Having said that, I think he still deserves to be signed somewhere else but that may require him to agree to a huge pay cut.

I heard some rumors that Carmelo is going to sign for a European Club.
To my ears, this cannot be true. Carmelo spent all his career in NBA so there is no reason to league NBA for new experiences.
We just have to wait and see.

2.4 - 2.5M USD. I think that should be enough just for consideration for this man. Also he will giving good advice with the team.

Sorry about that.
Yes Jamal is one of the entertaining guys in the league. Also, other players from each team that he joined tells he is one of those veterans that you will love to play with. Never a hard headed, a good listener and also a good adviser.

The three time Sixth Man of the Year is still hanging there and waiting for the right team that will take him.
I do think there will be one before the season starts. Some teams might still be scouting internationally before they will add this veterans in their roster.

Nah, I don't think so, he had his time with the Clippers back then. And with him saying this?

I doubt that they are going to rehire him. He is already 39 years old, sure he will have some games that he can score more points. But teams now are looking for someone who is consistently is both defence and offence.

If I were him I would surrender into being too much of a hard headed. You want to be a star again, then prove it. For now, better put your heads down and try to make up for the time that you loss.
I hope he has that kind of attitude and his lay off time was enough for him to realize what's good for him.
If he will be able to play with Lebron, I think they will do better but he should understand that when Lebron is in the team, he is the boss.
There are still some players who are rooting and believing in Carmelo Anthony. Remember that Carmelo Anthony is also best friend of Lebron James, you think guys Los Angeles Lakers can able to get Carmelo Anthony?
Even on this article: Lakers News: Kyle Kuzma Thinks Carmelo Anthony ‘Should Be On A Team’ For 2019-20 NBA Season. Even Kyle Kuzma still believing on Carmelo Anthony that he should be in the team for 2019-2019 NBA Season. Carmelo Anthony is one of the best players also, I know there is still some left on Carmelo Anthony.
Maybe tomorrow we will see some news about him signing with in a team, and well hopefully it will be Lakers so the excitement in the next season will start. If it will be realize he will be signing with the Lakers, I don't think he will be a starter as him and Lebron has the same position in the court.

There's no question about his scoring ability. The guy can score. But he seem to be dragging any team he's on down. Doesn't matter if he's got good teammates. Its probably attitude. Of course he's likely in the top 20 to 30 scorers today but team would expect leadership fron someone who takes a lot of shots. He just isn't doing that. And time's running out for melo, i think.

Right, he has to step out of his comfort zone and start to obey whoever the team leader he will have in his potential team. He has that kind of mentality that has been brought by his past experiences but he has to adjust, he's no longer on his comfort.
I'm not saying he's desperate to become a leader but he needs to downgrade if he still wanted to be adopted by teams and then showcase himself and prove them wrong when he's got in.
He has a disappointing performance in his last 2 teams, he should have learn on that, and use the break he has to think over and analyze his mistakes.
Though he is not getting any younger anymore, at 35 years old, he still has a lot to offer, but to lead a team? he should give that to the younger once and just contribute more on helping the team based on his experience.
He have the experience and other characteristic of being a leader but to offer himself that way, I think that's just too much imo. If the team sees him and asks him to be a leader then he just have to go but if he's the one offering himself, it's desperation. I agree that he can contribute more about his experience and on how to play and teach the young ones but leadership is something that he should just let others do. I'm thinking that he's not willing to be under on anyone's leadership these days.

Following for the update of Melo on which team he will sign, and hoping he will be able to play this season, I mean the full season with enough playing time.
