After doubts, Melo confident he wants to play

What do you think guys? Which team he will play, hopefully he will be back soon, he might have already realize his past mistakes and change it to fit in a certain team. According to him, he can provide leadership within a team, you thoughts?

If he gets to play, then he can play any team. But to be a leader? I don't think so. Now that he is in the twilight of his career, it would be too difficult to change what he is right now and the way he play is outdated by the young and talented players.
With what he said that he is ready to play basketball now i think he will embrace any roles given to him and being a leader of a team is very far from it. He have to swallow the pride and face the sad truth that his market value as a player has plunged very low.

Let us hope for that to happen.

He is the Iverson type. Doesn't want to be as a second stringer but still a superstar. Problem is he aint that kind anymore.
He had been to different teams and that is already one clue that he is either bad with his skill set or he is bad in the locker room and the management sight.

If I were him I would surrender into being too much of a hard headed. You want to be a star again, then prove it. For now, better put your heads down and try to make up for the time that you loss.

Not in any team for sure, OKC and Rockets which his past 2 teams won't accept him anymore, he needs to be in other team, like the Lakers with a very small salary, I hope the salary thing will not affect his ego.

IMHO, he's better to be managed by others or go under others umbrella rather than lead a team.

He can't lead a team anymore, he has given a chance to lead NYK but there was no improvement on the team.
He needs to go down from his superstar mentality, I'm sure there's still a lot of teams that will sign him since he can still play and he has accomplish a lot throughout his career, except to become an NBA champion.
Right, he has to step out of his comfort zone and start to obey whoever the team leader he will have in his potential team. He has that kind of mentality that has been brought by his past experiences but he has to adjust, he's no longer on his comfort.
I'm not saying he's desperate to become a leader but he needs to downgrade if he still wanted to be adopted by teams and then showcase himself and prove them wrong when he's got in.
He has a disappointing performance in his last 2 teams, he should have learn on that, and use the break he has to think over and analyze his mistakes.
Though he is not getting any younger anymore, at 35 years old, he still has a lot to offer, but to lead a team? he should give that to the younger once and just contribute more on helping the team based on his experience.

I think Lakers is his best chance for a comeback. They have one more spot on their roster if I am not mistaken. I think he will be a last minute addition if the Lakers can't find another player to complete the team.

Comeback for what? He is already 35 years old and his prime days are over the best thing he can do now is to be efficient on the role he was given and judging how filled his position will be if he ever goes to the Lakers I don't think he will have the minutes for him to shine. For one he would be playing under Lebron which would be taking most of the playing time, secondly his skills won't match the kinds of plays that they will have which would center around AD and Lebron. If he wants to really shine he would just sign a contract for a non-playoff team just to take some more minutes.

Vince Carter still want to sign with a team.
Hawks are giving him a warm welcome if ever he wants to sign with them again.
I'm still an avoid fan of Vince although his prime is now gone but give him the few remaining years.

Though he's no longer a superstar for a team still this guy has contributed to those teams that he played before. Glad to see him playing and still remained onto the league.

2019-20 might be his last season. As for me, I'd rather seen him retired in Toronto Raptors' jersey.
Raptors deserve that, he was very popular in Toronto Raptors back then and Raptors was his first team in the league.
Also, I think it would somehow give some good news in return as Leonard departed from the championship team, we don't expect Carter to help a lot but it would help attract more fans to watch the game.

Last season, Toronto Raptors gave Vince Carter a 30-second standing ovation when he checked-in for the first time. They think that it will be the last season where they will see Carter in the Air Canada Centre.

This upcoming season, Carter, if ever will be signed by Toronto or not, will surely come back again at the arena. And this time, since he made an unofficial statement already about retirement, expect that the tribute video for him by Raptors fans will be longer.

I think Lakers is his best chance for a comeback. They have one more spot on their roster if I am not mistaken. I think he will be a last minute addition if the Lakers can't find another player to complete the team.

There are rumors back then about LeBron showing interest in recruiting Melo but no update about that rumor for quite a while now so maybe that was now removed on the list.

Carmelo, if he really wants to play again, should accept being underpaid, being a bench player and will just have limited playing time. Yes, he is still in good shape, at least, but no time now for his pride to take over again at any provided situation.

He had some good years with the Knicks but the eastern conference was dominated by Lebron during that time.  Melo also led the Nuggets to the Western Conference Finals and they had a close series with the Lakers.  Don't think he gets enough credit for what he has done.
Not only he has some good years with the Knicks. He's a good friend to Lebron also. This is why the chance of him playing with LeBron is not that bad. He also said with his interview that he could go back and he is willing to take the bench for the team. Man, take him. Although you can't take back the best out of him, still you can have the rest out of him. He's still a good shooter though.

Vince Carter still want to sign with a team.

Oh, The Atlanta Hawks is reserving him a spot, for real. However, Carter is not showing any interest, at least "for now".

This past couple of season, he joined rebuilding teams such as Sacramento Kings and last season, the Atlanta Hawks. Is he targeting another rebuilding teams?

2019-20 might be his last season. As for me, I'd rather seen him retired in Toronto Raptors' jersey.

That would be lovely.
It looks like he is giving some veteran advices with rookies and sophomores.
With that, he also have a good exercise which is paid by whichever team who wants him.
It is a good move and still a decent job.

Now this one is something funny.

Trying to escape the drug test. It is as if he is telling he is really positive.

That two chances was lead by two different superstars, Lebron from the east and Kobe from the west, Melo have it's own Identity if he only played well as a backup from Houston and not to ask for star treats he can help Harden and Paul, but without adjusting for the team he will be landed he's career might be over now, he should have a mindset-like Vince Carter who never ask for special treatment because he loves to keep playing the game.

He had most of his success with Denver Nuggets, his first team.

Of his 8 seasons playing with the Denver Nuggets, his team only miss one season of going to the playoffs, and during that time he has an impressive stats. Moreover, with the NYK, of the 7 seasons he played, he only lead his team 3 times in the playoffs.

He should be credited that's why he is start player but his pay now is subject to his performance, unfortunately, he didn't do good in the last 2 teams he played with.

Last year was the perfect time to rejoin the Raptors. He could have retired on the team where he played his best years and going out as a champion.

It depends on the price and roll he is willing to take. There's no doubt that he still got to offer and most teams would be willing to take him if the price is right.

He needs to go down from his superstar mentality,
That's the best he can do. He should admit to himself that he is no longer on his prime days. He should now open his eyes and realized that many talents in the industry already surpassed him. Actually what he achieved in his career is not bad at all, he almost got a championship (unfortunately Kobe and the gang crashed him Grin), became an olympic gold medalist multiple times and already gained the respect of people. In my opinion, I think he can now make a decent retire however he still one more season so let's see if he will impreswed the crowd once again before his farewell.

I'm starting to see Jeremy Lin version on the case of Melo. There would be teams that are going to adopt and low ball him since he's looking desperate to land for another team.

Is it really because of performance? age? competition? that's why no team from 82 teams aren't showing interest for this guy?
Do discrimination still exist in the NBA? I hope it's not the reason and i tend to believe too that it's business decision. When Yao Ming is still active in the Rockets roster, they got fans from Asia specifically on China because of him and it's good for the team and the NBA as well.
Yeah, I also don't see any discrimination at all. If I am on the head management of the team, there's a certain point in my mind to also think of trading Lin or the worst case is to abandon him because of his performance. What did he contributed on the finals? Almost none AFAIR! Even VanVleet made a greater performance than him. For me he was just overrated. With his current state I will not be surprised if he will left NBA forever and just play in the Asian region.
