The nets gave him $100m+ contract, I'm sure they arent going to let a player say when they are hurt and not hurt after an Achilles injury.  The medical staff will have to clear him to play before durant gets any say on if he plays or not, that's what the team medical staff is for.
Yeah they've invested that much to him and there will be a sure return to the management. They wouldn't waste a big amount if its necessary, I think he's already well and can play but not to the extent of his superior before.

Guys, I got some news about KD.

Kevin Durant Could Potentially Make Return From Achilles Injury This Season

What do you all think? Can we expect the same Durant this coming season?

As long as they say it will be Durant's decision by now. And the medical background should be real by now.
Unlike with what happened with GSW medical team where they are being unprofessional into pinpointing the what the the injury of KD is.

Looks like they have discovered something new to haste the process or there could be some medical equipment more advance in New York?
I dont know. I am just speculating. But if they do, then it is a good thing. Kyrie will have an easy time to lead the team.

It wont be Durant's decision, it will definately be the nets medical staff that will clear him.  With injury like this athletes usually say they can play but if they went out full force they would end up getting injured again.

The final decision is on Durant of course but I think he already learned his lesson when he re-injured himself during his stay with the warriors, this is a completely different team where he is the one that is expected to lead the team so he cannot afford any possible injury here that would only make the situation worst.

That's right. Durant's decision with regards to whether he play this season or not is vital for his health and for the team he's into. I don't think he will force to play despite the injury he's had.

Exactly, the management would be fool enough if they cannot protect their investment.
They will clear Durant to play but it's not only up to them since Durant knows how he feel so they will consult Durant if he is already willing to play again.

Durant is a star and we saw his dedication in this sport, so I think he is a warriors that would not feel a small pain to stop him, for sure we will see him playing again next season, prepare for that while we hope and pray that he will not be injured again, it's hard to witness a star player retire early because of major injury.

As long as the medical staff charged to him will allow him to play then he should play. But I wish all the best on him for this season. If he has to take a rest, take a rest. It's a serious injury but if the medical professionals see his recovery well, why would they stop him to play?
It's just about what he feels and what the doctors' findings about his condition.

Maybe because Durant recovery is good, before they said that he will be out in the whole series but that was just an estimate, they can't really tell because if the body of Durant is willing to heal faster because of his love to the game, that would happen.

I think the fans of Durant will be happy with this news, seeing him play with the Nets this coming season will increase more their chance to be a great contender in the East and will face the best in the West, if it would be Durant vs Lebron in the Finals, I think this is going to be a classic match up.

How the hell did Durant earned any respect? Dude literally went from a team that could beat warriors on 3-1 if Durant didn't screwed up and then next year he joined a 73-9 team and they eventually won couple rings together, even without Durant Warrios had a big chance to become champions on all those years, sure Durant made a HUGE difference but the difference was "most likely champions" to "definitely champions" and nothing more.

He doesn't have my respect for sure, even Westbrook is in rockets right now but he has my respect over Durant because he had to leave instead of bail out like a snake and talk bad things about his old team. That is why Durant will never be a great star in my eye, no matter how much he scores or how many rings he gets, he will always be a snake to me.

Not liking how a guy handles his business is one thing but saying he isnt a great star just ain't right.  Top 5 player in the world right now (pre injury).  No one can cover durant on a consistent basis, no matter what he is getting his in a game.  How is him going to a team like the nets change your mind?  It's not like the nets are set up to be world beaters

Right now, I am trying to sense that there is a blackballed thing going on with Melo, I don't know if he did something wrong with rockets or even OKC because dude is literally not given a contract by force, we are talking about 30 teams and 8-9 man rotations which means 250+ players needed for the league and owners can't possible make us believe that there are 250+ better players than Melo, that is not possible we all know Melo is still a better player than half of the league.

This is why I think this is more personal, either they don't like his character or his treatment to teammates or something, no idea why but its too obvious its not related to basketball. We see players saying "Melo needs a contract" but we never see any player saying "we should sign him to our team", that means maybe even players do not want him on their teams? I don't know but he should definitely be playing based on his talent even now.

There is nothing wrong with his character.  The issue is his high usage rate and changing his game up.  Melo balled in his prime, his usage rate was real high and he is comfortable playing that style, his game isnt situated to play off the ball that's not his game.  That's why he isnt signed because there are better role players that can play off the ball better than melo.

KD is one of those faces of this league, and without him, this season will be not an interesting one for the fans who loves him playing.

We might have a different thought on this.

Kevin Durant is no doubt one of the faces in the league but to think that this season might not be interesting because of him, maybe not playing, is out of the context. I believed even a pure KD fan will not think of this.

If he will play or not this season, nothing will change. Maybe good since we will see more competition in the East. However, I will not expect too much for the Nets this season but instead, I want to see them full force in the season 2020-21.

This is something each team has to consider too before letting them play.

That is surely considered.

NBA teams are very professional handling such cases. Players are not just allowed to play because they want.

These injury talks reminded me of the time D. Rose (Bulls) was cleared by team doctors but doesn't feel like he was physically and mentally healthy to play . The same goes for Kahwi (Spurs). This is something each team has to consider too before letting them play.

What do you all think? Can we expect the same Durant this coming season?

The majority knows that he will be out of the whole season so it doesn't really matter or surprising if he will play or not this season. If the doctor cleared him to play, then up to him if he will play or make the whole season his resting period.

We as a normal NBA fan can't just say he should just rest or don't force to play.

He is expected to be cleared after All-Star break. If he feels well, then why not. He is the one risking his career if he will just play while not fully recovered so I know he knows what he doing.
Career wise and for future good health condition, it's better to stay at bench and rest, it could bring more good investment for the entire franchise. Though it's not bad if he will be cleared and be allowed to play, it's still his option whether to take chances or to keep resting for the best outcome for longer healthy condition.

Meanwhile, some experienced doctors have recommended athletes who suffered an ACL tear to have two years of recovery before playing again. That's a long period for Klay Thompson and not good for the Warriors if he ever plans to follow that recommendation. https://news.yahoo.com/warriors-klay-thompson-sit-two-192810043.html

If I remember correctly, Adrien Peterson (NFL) has one of the worst ACL injury of any NFL player but come back very strong in less than one year. So with proper rehab and recovery, I think Klay Thompson can comeback in about a year and became 100% again.

Two years though is too long for someone as elite as Klay to sit down.

Anyway, I'm sure by heart he has all the intentions to play and contribute, so it's really up to him and the doctors to give the go signal and resume his career early.

Kevin Durant Could Potentially Make Return From Achilles Injury This Season

What do you all think? Can we expect the same Durant this coming season?

I think he's not going to force the issue of his injury. I mean, he has a torn Achilles tendon which needs time to fully recovered. I can't believe this kind of news, but if he does come back this season it would mean he is willing to take the toll from his kind of injury.

He will not force to play just for the sake of playing, he will play because he is already healed and fit to play. He has learned his lesson and KD would not want that to happen again. KD playing this season is just a possibility and it all depends on the progress of his rehabilitation, nothing is definite yet but of course we all want him to be back healthy this season.
