CP3 + HARDEN + BUTLER?
= ROCKETS 30W -52L - First time not to make a Playoffs appearance since 2011-2012 Season.

Actually I think this would work if Harden will become a willing passer and Chris Paul will play on a consistent PG position.
If Harden would still be Harden, I don't think we will see some improvement here.
As far as I remember, there's an ego issue within these players. They are strong in terms of invidual and past performances but as a team I don't think that they have blended well for the past season. Is there a roster change for Houston Rockets and any of them will be eliminated from the team? if not I think they will try to blend well for the upcoming season and honestly this team is really strong as I've said for individual players but well it's a team game so I hope they'll do well soon.

@jakelyson. It is a risk, however, maybe the extent of Kevin Durant's injury might not be that bad. His handler and his doctors know more than us.

I agree, he would not make his own decision without consulting the experts and professionals since it's his future is at stake here.
Also remember that Durant is a star which most teams are rooting for him to play with them, so I think that decision was the right thing to bring more entertainment int he other team, not only for the warriors since he have proven enough.

I do not see that happening. We already know that that was the cause of the friction between CP3 and Harden. Harden refuses to be couched or play off the ball. And if you add Butler, it would be just what he said ...

BUTLER will be more valuable in other team but not in Rockets, not with Harden particularly.
I would rather see him teaming Lebron James if possible than with Harden honestly, he actually deserve a better team as we know what he can do in big games like in the playoffs, if we followed him in the last playoffs against the Raptors, we saw how valuable he is.

How about KD? He declined player option with GSW. Do you think it is a good decision, Achilles injury, and everything?

I've been scanning some basketball rumors and read some interesting moves. As we await the situation on Durant and Klay, how about the latest on the Rockets - Rockets Working On Clint Capela, Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker Trades As Part Of Jimmy Butler Pursuit

Can you imagine a harden, CP3, and Butler big 3? Their locker room would be interesting  Cheesy

That's quite a long time rumor and NBA enthusiast are waiting for the update. Surely, Harden will stay or should I say, Rockets will make him stay.

Just feel like a bad move here if they will market Capela, Tucker, and Gordon too but they have no choice if they are targeting big fish. They need to destroy their current core lineup.

CP3 is done at the Rockets i think. The Rockets is willing to trade their point guard as stated after the playoffs that they are rebuilding around Harden and they are willing to trade anybody. They are interested on getting Butler which for me interesting move since Butler is a ball hugger and might not work for Harden.

It is just the same as the story of Russell Westbrook.
He can pull some good games and break records if he want to but yet he could not get to win a ring.
He is also an MVP and almost a triple double every game and yet still fell short. He had different players who sided with him who are now champions but why the hell when it is with him they could not get it?

At the end of the day, if it is really for you then it will be done.
Just need to make the efforts higher and also the will to win the game and not just for statistics.

I can see a lot of fire in Giannis, I bet in 2 to 3 years he will be more than just a monster in the basketball court and then win that NBA championship.
Yep, he is still young and just entering his prime and if Bucks will upgrade some players then an eventual ring is on the horizon for him in the next 2-3 years. Russ and Hardens are all statistical players,  Grin. Setting records after records and as a result they falter when they are needed to bring their team to the next level.

I think it is the difference of teams success as well. Last season Harden won the MVP and his team was around the same places as this season, so when you look at it harden and rockets didn't do anything out of ordinary for them, it was expected of harden to lead rockets to top of the west conference.

On the other hand, Giannis made bucks a lot better this season (of course coach bud had a lot to do with it) and then bucks became the first seed in the east. Which means giannis both improved himself but also improved his team as well. That is why Giannis got the MVP, not because he was better than Harden but because he was the most "valuable" player, if we gave the award to the best player ever then KD or Lebron would have got all mvp's in the past decade every single year.

I have to disagree with you winning NBA awards is more of politics and personal biases nowadays that is why there are a lot of questionable players winning an award like Rudy Gobert taking away the DPOY from a lot of worthy players not even mentioned in the top 3. Other awars such first, second, and third team all-nba all have very questionable inclusions but we cannot really do anything since unlike the All-star games fans aren't the ones who are voting its all up to the media on who they want and who they think who will win.

If CP3 gets out then there will be a lot of changes.
Got to stay healthy if he wants that crown again.
But why not aim better. Get the Finals Championship trophy and a ring. That will be better than just aiming for a season MVP.
It is like Steve Nash once again. Same coach different team but with same gameplay. Steve Nash ball hog but with lots of assist. This time Harden ball hog but with lots of dribbles. Grin
He should really change that to save some stamina. Grin

It is still Gianis who deserves it for me. He is an all around guy. Hell! He should have also that Most Defensive Player crown.
That is what I'm trying to say, he had a good season, but they always fell short during crunch time. I don't want to used the word "choke", but since @harizen said it, then Harden should not be just a statistics player but rather go for all the marbles of it, winning a NBA ring.  Grin. Speaking of CP3, he said he wanted to stay with Houston so let's see.

I don't think team record should matter at all, I would just give the mvp to the best player in the league.

For example in MLB: Alex Rodriguez won the AL MVP in 2003 and the Texas Rangers had a  Season Record of 71-91,  The NBA should take notes from the MLB.

Congratulations to Giannis Antetekoumpo for taking the MVP. There are some people that disagree with this decision but I don't think this is a mistake right? Here is an article saying that Houston Rockets disagree with this decision.

And whose crying there? The voice of those many people who voted for Giannis is bigger than those who questioned this decision, being all around player deserved the award, better luck next time for Harden's fans, as there's no chance anymore to change that as Giannis already won the MVP.

Still think Harden should have gotten the MVP over Giannis.  James Harden had a historic season with his PPG that hasn't been matched since Michael Jordan.  I still wish they would go back to the old format and award the MVP during at the end of the season and not after the NBA finals.
Let the others take the title, Harden already got it and it has been decided that Giannis had won the MVP. The guy deserve that and we have seen his performance for this season and no doubt that it belongs to him. Whatever their standard of choosing now, we just have to respect the decisions and it's over now. No one is comparable to the living legend, it's MJ and no one can par him.

Can't blame his own thoughts. If you look at the numbers, Giannis and Harden numbers are really closed. Harden got the most PPG but Giannis put up great numbers too on other factors + the other criteria which increases more his chances to grab the NBA MVP awards.

They deserved both but this time, Giannis got it.
Yeah, Harden is also an amazing playeer and has been a contender for each season as MVP but this time it wasn't for him so let's just move on. And if there are people that still can't believe about the title that was awared to him, the guy has been impressive and appreciate that he's able to reach farther than other teams for the last season. I can't believe it that there are people that can't appreciate and can't be happy on what this young guy has achieved.

I think the media voted for Giannis because it was a break out year for the kid. Sure Harden had a historic season but that's just it. I mean it was expected of him to carry the team against the KD less GSW but he fall short again. I'm sure next season both of them will be amongst the top 2 MVP prospect so let's see if Harden can turn it around next year.

The decision made was right. Again, as I mentioned, stats might be closed but numbers don't lie. Giannis really won this.

Looks like they are pissed-off of the voting results because Harden only got 23 first-place votes out of 101.

But why not aim better. Get the Finals Championship trophy and a ring. That will be better than just aiming for a season MVP.

Yes, instead of complaining, they must focus on finding a solution on how not be choked during playoffs lol.
