Well deserved award specially for Giannis this year. Although there's some argument early, but he proves the vote when he carry his team, just fell short though. I don't think that Trae Young got robbed though, Luka was more impact and gets more media attention (that turns into vote). But overall, Luka as well deserves the award.

Been reading crazy, sense, nonsense, jokes, memes, appreciation, hates, etc. comments earlier about the NBA awards night.

Pointing to the 2019 Rookie of the Year, some think that Trae Young got robbed. This guy is also good, no question about that, but during the early to mid-phase of the season, Luka Doncic already making names and shows great numbers. He even got the leads on Rookie of the Week stats and Rookie of the Month stats several times.

This kind of argument by nonsense fans makes me believed that once they are against on a certain player, they will ignore the "real numbers".

Trae Young fans should not be worried at all. Atlanta Hawks will be composed of young and athletic players next season that might become a future asset of the franchise for few seasons to come.

Lakers are always idiotic when it comes to financial management, they always fail at cap calculations and that has been a thing ever since Kobe was alone and playing there without getting any decent help until they got Odom and Gasol.

Now, they got Lebron and AD which I am quite happy because AD is young and can stay here for a long time but Lebron is old and unless they find some 3&D players quickly they are not going to content at all. This is the year they need to contend and if they do not get anyone specific for Lebrons needs they are not going to win anything, with Paul and harden fighting and getting older plus that many injuries in warriors, if Lakers can get some good shooters around Lebron and even semi-good defenders they have a shot at the title right away, without them there is no way they make it to conference finals.
Not really a fan of Lebron but he maybe old but still can play well. It's just he already got accomplishments that's why it seems he isn't that thirsty anymore when it comes in getting a ring. It's like he is not giving it all like he did in Cavs. Hope the addition of AD in their team makes Lebron fired up again. I agree, they need more realiable outside shooters to make their team more competitive.
People tell that Lebron is old because he didn't able to make it on playoffs but with this addition with AD lets see some fire once again.
The results of NBA titles is really non-surprising yet Giannis do really deserve that MVP title after all the hard work and performance he had made.Congrats!

Wow it's nice to see that Giannis has been nominated for two categories even just for one category I'd like him to see get the award any of the two but being part of the finalist is already a great achievement for him. How about the rookie of the year? I'm sure that many are eyeing for Luka Doncic.
I do somehow anticipated that Giannis would really get some no. of categories. He's worthy with those awards and it isnt questionable

when we do talk about his performance which we do see on our very own eyes and it is really a very good achievement.

What excites me on next season is the young players + new rosters.Love to see on which team will take the top spot and also
does Lakers is capable now?  Grin
Yessss, Giannis won the MVP award while Luka Doncic is the rookier of the year. Congratulations to these two players that I really like, they both deserve the award.

There's been a lot of disagreements with last year's MVP but I don't think anyone would argue about Giannis winning this time. I mean, compared to others, he delivered on bot ends of the floor. If I am not mistaken, he declared at the start of last season that he'll win the MVP award.

It was totally well-deserved for Antetokounmpo.
He was the best player in the league and he kept a consistent performance from the start of the season. From the first game till the last one he was the best player in Bucks and he was always trying for the best of his team. Congrats to him and I wish him to continue that for many many seasons.

I have checked the free agent list and aside from JJ Reddick which would be a great addition there are couple of others that would be great fit as well. Considering Lebron will play power forward and AD will play center they need 3 players for pg-sg-sf and that means for PG they can still chase Kemba walker, that would be a great addition but if they want someone cheaper and just not spend too much money on PG spot then they can get Patrick Beverley, he can defend like no one else can and would be great to defend curry or harden when faced, plus he can shoot not that bad as well which Lebron teammates should have.

For shooting guard they can get JJ Reddick and for cheap I am sure but if they want to they can look at Danny Green as well, I know Danny Green would probably not accept it but a decent offer would get him as well and he is a better defender than Reddick even though a worse shooter.

Not even close and I'm happy that we have a new MVP. I'm sure that this will inspire Giannis more to play hard and bring his team to that NBA finals and a trophy.

So congrats to him and we hope that we will see him push a bit more next season.

It sure did inspire him. As he said it, "It is just the start".
He do want a championship although his Dad told him never to be greedy, a championship is still in his focus.
He was so emotional with his speech. That was a season MVP only. What if he does get the Finals crown and the MVP? Floor could be flooded with tears.  Grin

That will be one of their big problems starting now.
How can they stretch that little amount they have into getting good players.
They will need a second team when their stars are resting. Lebron is not getting younger and AD is a big man which need like 10 out of 48 minutes rest.

Luca Doncic was named as the ROY, good for him, he really deserve the award, also Lou Williams got another 6th man award.
Waiting for the NBA MVP now, anyone knows when it will be announce?

Won't disagree that they have awarded it towards Luca Doncic but it was really a close match after the all-star break against Trae Young. But among the two players he was the most consistent shooter and aside from that he have shown an all-around contribution aside from just shooting the ball. Other than that he had actually helps the Mavs win a lot of games which without him it would be an easy L for the team.

I agree, they need more realiable outside shooters to make their team more competitive.

They have Kuzma to do that for them but they definitely need more since one player who are doing it is very predictable.

If they will get one veteran good shooter like  J.J. Redick, their line up will be scary.

Congrats, I thought it's gonna be James Harden again, Lol, but Giannis deserves it though, powering his team to the ECF and just fell short to the eventual NBA champion Toronto Raptors.

I was just going to answer the harizen comment and this popped out.  Grin

My pick could have been.

Giannis as MVP and MDP.
Luka Dončić. We all saw how he became one who could lift a whole team in just minutes.
Lou Williams. This man should not be in the sixth man. He is like Iverson when he is out there with his offense.
Pascal Siakam. Oh Yeah! He deserve it.
Michael Malone. I do think he deserve this title. He doesnt need a superstar and yet he got Denver to number 2.

Congratulations to all those who will win this titles. It will now be glued to them whenever they will be analyzed.

Damn! I cried in Giannis speech.  Cry

I guess even if they will disagree they can't do anything to change the reason, there is a criteria being followed here and it's very clear that this guy did an outstanding job during the regular season. One big achievement of the team that we should not forget is he led his team to have the best record last regular season, it's only an MVP can do that.

I'm also trying to check online if the information already available, but still there's nothing to be found, still needs to wait until further announcement both Harden and Giannis got a good chance bringing the award.

Last season's performance showed how this players deserved the awards and be part of the candidates.

I guess it will be announce today, it's possible that there's a close competition between the two that's why they have to carefully tally the points.
I guess Harden will get this one, just not sure, either of the two, it's a well deserved.

Thanks for delivering that fresh news. I was wrong with my prediction but congrats to Giannis he deserve this win, and at least he got his first MVP award and I hope he will continue to improve so they will reach the NBA Finals next season.
As I mentioned earlier both contenders really show how great they are last season and whoever the winner he really deserve the award, Congrats to Giannis this young star still have a lots to show and with his physical condition right now he can achieved more.

Without lebron in the east and Leonard ain't sure to stay with Barney, Bucks have a good chance just keep improving.
