They saved themselves in paying him out for the rest of this years salary(cause they paid him $5 million just for sitting on the bench since the beginning of the season anyways ), so they let the Pistons take that on instead.

Oh well, I think they didn't saw that Blake with be injured that's why they traded him. The decision boils down the the team needed some changes that's why they have to let go of their 2 top players. (CP3 and Blake).
In the end, its just business and nothing personal, but yeah maybe they got lucky of offloading him at the right moment and that's too bad that he got injured and hope that he can recover soon.
Really interesting in the West though. We still don't know we will in the playoffs specially in the 4th-8th spot.
