The New York Knicks put the Carmelo Anthony trade talks on hold for now.

It's clear now that chances Melo will be played on other team next season is possible or that paused trade talks will reconsider Melo to stay at the team . The closest team on the rumor that Melo could be transfer is the Houston Rockets. Sounds like a big 3 will be formed- Chris Paul - James Harden - Carmelo Anthony. Really a BIG isn't it but I don't see any threat from them especially Melo and Harden. Both are ball hogger and have an attitude of sole playmaking. Anyway, here comes again the CHEMISTRY thing and if that blockbuster transfer will happened, hope they can blend the chemistry properly.
Melo needs to change his attitude in the game, he paired up before with one of the best point guard which Allen Iverson but it did not work out well, I think those time are the only closest of the glory days of Melo and after that I did not see anything more interesting about him.
Both Harden and Paul are play makers but when paying in one team, they need to step up on the rule that is task for them to do.

the big three before on Miami heat and it's like undefeatable but everything changed when they parted ways. And it's clear that Lebron has it's own will to bring a team and his making the spirit of his teammates playing well.

Refer to my post above. Miami Heat's big 3 was formed while currently having a better competitor team. And in their first season, they are lost to Dallas Mavericks in NBA finals. But prior to finals, the playoffs are close and it's really unpredictable who will be the last team standing. If it compare this past season, it's way too different from Golden State Warriors which is really unstoppable and no competition much more when Durant joined the team.

About Lebron, he can really bring a team no doubt. I watched some of Lebron James games during his Cleveland Cavaliers era prior to his transfer at Miami Heat and all I can say is awesome as he is the only one lifting Cavaliers up.

It's far from currents situation in the league. GSW isn't that comparable to the old big 3 towers. I hate Lebron before but when seeing he play, he has the talent and there's no doubt he can bring a team and can lead it to the finals. I want to see him play more and he has a very strong performance from the past seasons.
GSW will dominate for some more years as they got really young star players and the chemistry already been build inside the team steve kerr
really put this team up to a well competitive team that compose of superstars and talented hassle 6th guy players, just remember how mj,pippen,
tony K, dennis R and Ron H. of the chicago which he play the big shot coming from game 6 of 1997 finals, he rebuild this with his own version of
curry,thompson,kd,iggy and green. great comparison.

It is their momentum and I guess it will be longer time for them to dominate. And their only rival is the Cleveland Cavaliers and that's why Lebron needs to do something or the management of Cavs to ensure proper training, boot camps and more plans to come to make sure that whenever they will face with GSW. They are much more prepared.

He is not opting out he is going to get paid all his money to go in the end. Dolan had an option to not pick up rest of Phil's contract at end of last season and he picked it up and than just fired him months later where Phil will get all his money for doing nothing. Dolan did the same thing with Isaiah Thomas and Larry Brown. Lol in 2011 before the nba lockout - knicks had a team option on Chauncey Billups for 14.2M they chose to pick up even though it was an overpay only to use their amnesty clause after the lockout to pay Billups all his money not to play so they could sign and overpay Tyson Chandler. Wasting the amnesty was the reason amare was riding the bench on a max salary as the knicks kept getting worse.

Melo is overrated player for me. No offense for his fans. He can't even carry a team even now or distributed much after bringing Denver Nuggets last 2009-2010 season into their first conference finals. That's the highlight of his career and follow up season is kinda not that interesting.

For me, New York Knicks must retained this player if Melo will agree. Revamp their bench as this squad doesn't have a second team. Don't just acquired injury prone player to saved salary cap. They must do what Boston Celtics after their decision to recruit young players and disband their championship lineup. It's a risk worth trying for.

Is this official? Is the bulls will really release butler and remain wade instead? This is a great loss to chicago bulls. Timberwolves has lot of good players even without them. Karl Anthony Towns is enough. He just need time to get more experience. NBA must set a limitation to avoid superpower teams.

Every team has their own jurisdiction to make some boost on their line up. It's like everyone seems to have good choice and set of their players and still there's no guaranteed even they have super roster still, no one is sure of that they can lead in the brackets. As only 2 teams will remain in the finals to beat for this season's championship.

They actually have a rule for this. NBA executives have a right to not approve trades. They have disapproved Chris Paul trade to Los Angeles Lakers back in the day and their reasoning was LAL being so strong.

But It seems like Adam Silver stopped this tradition especially after Wade-LeBron-Bosh trio. They are basically bussiness man and if they feel thats the right marketing move, they should take it and I totally respect that. But with such unbalanced teams, the league is not what it was before.

By the way, Lonzo was a blast last night. Long way to go for this kiddo.

No idea that they have this type of set of ruling for the roster for each teams. I'm also seeing that trio, the big three before on Miami heat and it's like undefeatable but everything changed when they parted ways. And it's clear that Lebron has it's own will to bring a team and his making the spirit of his teammates playing well.
Going back to the supposed-to-be trade of Chris Paul to the Lakers back then, the league disapproved of it because back then, the New Orleans Hornets were still owned by the NBA, before it was sold to its current owner. It would not have been fair to the owner-to-be if his team would be devoid of its superstar and the value of team would really diminish.

The Miami Heat were far from unbeatable during the Big 3 era as they were only able to win two championships in their four years together. But they were very strong nonetheless but not as deep as the current super team of the Warriors.

yeah it is obvious for the bookies that they still the best team in the NBA also i bet we will get to see one more final where the Cavs will face GSW they have been the top teams for the past three seasons with the Warriors missing out a Championship of the season 15/16 with both teams managing to keep all of their major stars i doub't to see any other team step up to the finals despite that some trying to build teams so maybe the season after this we will see Houston Or San Antonion getting a shot at the finals but i think they will still have to face GSW at the end

Too early to predict but what else should we expect for team with low odds other than Golden State Warriors.

Still this superteam will having the same lineup next season and with just modifications from their bench. Actually they are not superteam but best team prior on Durant's landing.

I remember the comparison between Durant and Lebron James' switching teams. Lebron James formed a superteam meaning there are lots of dominant teams back when Miami Heat big 3 was formed like San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City Thunders, Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic any many more. While on Durant, Golden State Warriors is  currently the dominant team when he transferred. What your thoughts? Smiley

You pinned it.

That's the difference of Lebron James and Kevin Durant switching teams. KD when landed at Golden State Warriors, they are currently the strongest team in the NBA. When Lebron joined Miami Heat, there are lots of teams who are currently the strongest. Los Angeles Lakers was the defending champion that time. And not just Lakers but other west teams are taking spotlight back then.

Golden State seems unbeatable and its quote is really low

You said it right, they are truly unbeatable but we'll see if this coming conference is still in favor of them. Many players and teams changed and adjusted their roster to make their line ups powerful. No one knows if this conference is still with them or their streak will end up and will be passed to others.
No one knows but we have seen them grow as a team and the longer they play together the more they get better.
New players in a certain team whether they are a star player or not, they all have to pass in an adjustment period and success does not happen overnight but as we saw in the last season we have seen Durant struggle a big doing his rule but eventually figure out and showed up big in the playoffs.
It's all about understanding your rule and lay off those pride, star players needs to trust their teammate because they won't have success without teamwork.

The Wizards have signed Potter for 4 year making a $106.5 million max contract making him.the highest paid player next season at $24.8 million for the Wizards all i can say after this move is RIP Wizards honestly i have no idea why teams constantly are willing to pay guys who barely move the needle.

That's a big contract for Potter.

I don't know why there are teams that are paying big if they can get some rookies who are playing good.

Well we can't interfere with their decisions. It's their money.
yeah if they can build another curry who only got small salary when he's rookie days i think those young guns deserve to be pick and got some time
to showcase their talents, hope owners will look for another new face that will make some high impact to this league.

There's no need to build another Curry. There's more uprising players and rookie's they only need to discover some new.

Teams are building their rosters and they want to make sure each of their players has names and experience.
If I the Wizzards used the window between the kings reneging on their offer sheet to Otto and the nets signing him to one to negotiate a longer 5 year term contract with more guaranteed money for Otto but making sure he is not paid more than Bradley Beal going forward it would have been better because this contract may lead to some unwanted locker room tensions between players it may not go public but it surely it will be there

It’s an arms race in the West right now. Either you create a super team or just watch from the sidelines, as evidenced by the migration of superstars and concentration of high-caliber talents on several teams. Meanwhile the East continues to have a star-drain and it might only be a matter of time before Lebron decides to take his talents somewhere in the West.

Why would LBJ go over to the west? He controls the east, that's a very good advantage for him. But it's true, the conference divide is now farther than ever.
It was clearly see on the All star game that the West players dominates East even LBJ is on the East, there many fresh players with good calibers on east. LBJ will be staying on the unless LAL offers him a good amount of salary. I hope that LAL will be LBJ team once he decided to switch.
