San Antonio Spurs-Memphis Grizzlies

This is Potentially interesting round. This teams played 4 games in this season and both win twice,on their own court. Off course, play off is totally different thing than regular season and Spurs showed us numerous of times how serious team they are, great job coach Pop and his assistants are doing, but nobody can win that easy on Grizzlies court, so we might have ourselves a six or even seven game show to watch.

The play off is starting now is gonna be very interesting for me Houston vs Oklahoma and Boston vs Chicago will be very interesting. Wont pick any winners yet will wait little cuz play off is little different from regular season.

The houston vs OKC i think will be the most interesting for the first round and it would most likely determine who's gonna be this season's MVP. It's quite tight between russ and harden and whoever leds his team beyond the first round would definitely have a big boost for their mvp claim.

everyone is calling him MVP, so he probably won't, specially if OKC is eliminated in the first round

The word you used is "IF" so just wait.

And you are wrong. There is no impact for the criteria when choosing MVP if Oklahoma City Thunders will eliminated in the first round of Playoffs.

If the playoffs result is included when choosing a MVP in the whole season then how it was called "SEASON MVP"?
That's a correct analysis, this coming playoffs is not part of the criteria in determining the season's MVP. Based on my analysis, it's pretty clear that westbrook will be the MVP, the triple double thing is a solid statistics as a basis and I don't even think if anyone could even compete to his stats.

Stats are one thing but winning games is another. WestBrook may have the better stats but Harden has the higher wins.

Anyway, we'll find out soon.
yes mate if performance wise westbrook really got the advantage but for me overall can be taken by harden he also improved and he also take the game into a new height we can't say yet who will win the mvp raise but this 2 old buddies are really making some good edge.

of course the MVP title is not only about who is the better player.

let's say, a certain player is hyped to win the MVP, then everyone bets on him to get the MVP and the odds for the others increase, then the unexpected happens and the betting houses get lots of profit and people with inside information too.

there have been some strange stuff happening lately, for example when the Cavaliers announced they would rest their main players against the Thunders, then when the game was about to start they changed their minds

here is the draw of the playoffs:

Boston (1) vs Chicago ( 8 )
Washington (4) vs Atlanta (5)
Toronto (3) vs Milwaukee (6)
Cleveland (2) vs Indiana (7)

---------

Golden State (1) vs Portland ( 8 )
L. A. Clippers (4) vs Utah Jazz (5)
Houston (3) vs Oklahoma (6)
San Antonio (2) vs Memphis (7)

The most interesting match is Houston vs Oklahoma.
Are balanced also these 2 matches: Washington vs Atlanta and  L. A. Clippers  vs Utah Jazz

I'm sure with the playoffs coming in, Cavs will step up their game. The month of March was truly a disappointing for them. I'm expecting Cavs to begin acting like they are the defending champion and start to win basketball games again in succession. I'm seeing Deron Williams as the X-factor that would help them closer to another ring this 2017. Other worth mentioning is Kyle Korver, coming off the bench and providing needed offense specially in the 3 point line will definitely help the Big Three.

Deron Williams is only a factor when those 3 superstar are having an absence on a game. When currently the Big 3 is present, his performance factor is on average of 5 ratings out of 10. Why? Because of the playing time and play decision. Since D Will is the new arrival, he can't make his own set of play like he always doing in his previous teams.

The best thing to covered that is to play Dwill with the bench squad most of the time.

I agree, Williams has been playing pretty good without the big 3, but with them on the floor he's a non-factor or just doesn't seem to mesh well with Lebron or/and Irving. I think they are not used to having a ballhandler and don't give him the ball enough or just don't use him well enough. He's definitely a very special player that can even be the fourth best player in this team.

Also Lue has been awful handling different lineups and rotations, now the season is over. On a positive note, Edy Tavares the new addition played a very good game with 6 pts, 10 rebs and 6 blks! He's definitely a rim protector the Raptors were terrified and avoided driving to the hoop. Let's see if he gets any minutes in the playoffs though, I doubt it, but he is young and has plenty of potential (he was signed for 2 years!).

I heard that whoever is the MVP will be announced after the finals ? It was usually announced after the first round when did they changed that ? Does anyone know when the voting begins ?

I mean do they watch the playoffs and THAN vote ? Or do they already started to vote ? According to the answer if OKC beats Rockets and people vote after that, Brodie could be MVP by a big margin, otherwise its head to head.

Russell Westbrook surely have a happy night after Oscar Robertson salute him before their last game began.. And the crowd was really cheering for him for all the hardwork and effort throughout the season. And now they are preparing for their playoffs match against the Houston Rockets, with his MVP canditate rival James Harden as main opponent.

And the best part for Westbrook here during the ceremoney is, Robertson called him a MVP which makes the whole crowd cheer more loudly. Smiley

As a Cavs fan I'm glad this season is over, it was awful to watch and the team had a lot of up and downs, especially in recent weeks. I hope they can "flip the switch" and enter playoffs beast mode soon. I'm sure they can beat Indiana in the first round but the Pacers always give the Cavs some problems so I don't think they can sweep these series unless the mindset changes 100%.

As for the rest of the series, I think Bucks agains Raptors could be interesting in the East while in the west all series have something too look for! In theory Spurs, Warriors, Clippers and Rockets should advance but as we know there've been plenty of upsets in first rounds in recent history. Let the games begin!

I lost today on betting on Spurs against jazz. My bad i didn't listen to my instinct. Spurs now was preparing for their play-offs game. Deym coach pop. He is a very strategic coach by sacrificing remaining match on regular season for preparation. I will bet again on spurs when thry play against grizzlies.
I lost also for the spurs. I didn't expect it's a thrown game for them but im contented because all of their star players played unlike in cavs also lost with them.

Coaches do that all the time, especially Pops. You should've known.

Anyway, the Playoffs are here! It's that time of the year again. Excited for the HOU-OKC matchup Grin
yes coach pop really have a good thoughts regarding to how to rest his players and how to do good preparation for the play off
we should know that if we do watch their previous style as they already secured their place in the playoff they surely needed
to plan for a good strategy and make it smoothly accomplish to advance again in the next stage.

For Miami Heat go to the playoffs they must win today(most likely will, they won against the Wizards in Washington) and Indiana must lost at home against a crippled Hawks team or the Bulls lose at home against the Nets. Odds of home winning are less than 1.05 for both games.

But next season they will come back and go to the playoffs and surprise everyone

Miami has been very unfortunate, deserved to go to the playoffs. In the second part of the season he has had an incredible average with 30 victories in 41 matches.
next year can win its conference
