Looks like NLEX will have a chance of breaking their losing streak tonight, the game against the Ginebra now goes to OT and NLEX are leading by 3 points with 3 minutes left in the game, if they will handle the ball well and make some effective plays, they might upset the heavy favorite here.

I'm not watching the game now but it looks like they already won the game.

Based on the play-by-play record, the score is 120-117 in favor of the NLEX.
https://pba.ph/playbyplay

Brownlee had 39 points but Clark had a great game as well with 37 points, and Trollano contributed 26 points from the local.

I would say it's a huge win by NLEX. Never though a good team like Ginebra will be beaten by a struggling NLEX team. Ginebra seemed to be a very unpredictable now, you can't rely them against a weak team but you can trust them against a good team, I guess I'll just follow that trend for me to be profitable in betting.  Grin

TBH, even if Jordan Clarkson and Brownlee will play alongside each other on the FIBA'23, we will still be having a hard time winning games in that big tournament.

I definitely agree with that but at least our team will be more competitive, I'm not expecting they'll win most games but watching them give their opponent a hard time, would already make the fans happy. I now remember the old Gilas with TR47, they don't win most games but they are fun to watch.

Basketball program in other country is so advance while in Philippines they seems stuck with the old system so its nor surprising at all that they will lose on big games knowing that they are so underdog on that tournament. But at least the experience is so good and we can see our flag been raised battling on sports which is number 1 love by Filipinos so for sure even we know that they will lose on power house country still the excitement of fans still there because many are curious to know if they can defeat or make the life of Nba stars hard in the court.

I think that's not the case, what I believe the problem is our height because if you look at the international games, you can tell the height average of other nations are taller than ours, so with their physicality, we can never beat them.

Honestly, if only Jordan Clarkson was recognized as PH local under FIBA rules, that's a great boost to the National Team since we can see him playing alongside our chosen Naturalized player. PH should now rush to officially grant Justin Brownlee to be the naturalized player for the national team to prepare for the next window games.

If PH successfully wins their next window games, Jordan Clarkson will be suited up for the FIBA World Cup next year.

For others that are not aware, the FIBA World Cup is always held when NBA is on break. Only the game qualifiers are being conflicted with the schedule.

Agree, he and the one chosen as the naturalized player could be a great boost to the team. Justin Brownlee will be there playing window games and as a backup, if ever Jordan Clarkson won't suit up in FIBA23 due to other reasons as NBA is on a break during that time.

Win or lose on our next window games, we still qualify or PH has already a slot to the FIBA'23 as the co-host of that event along with Japan and Indonesia if I'm not mistaken so window games are just a form of tune-up games for the PH squad this time around.

TBH, even if Jordan Clarkson and Brownlee will play alongside each other on the FIBA'23, we will still be having a hard time winning games in that big tournament.

I agree that we will still have a hard time winning but it will be more competitive if both will play, the chances of winning is better compared to only one of them playing, but there's nothing we can do now since JC was recognized as naturalized and not as legit Pinoy blooded player.

We will see what's the outcome is when the game start. If the team will continue playing the way it was the last time. The chance is there for our Nationals.

It isn't a sad news because they knew it from the start that there will be only one naturalized player that can play for each team.
2 is better than 1 like they always say, and Clarkson isn't always available since he's also playing in the NBA so we will expect some conflict of schedules, so a secondary naturalized player like Brownlee

Yes of course, but if they can both play the better, hehe.. anyway, our naturalized player will not be tired because we have two and they are both ready to represent our country anytime. I already saw Clarkson played with Gilas but have not seen Brownlee yet, so I'm excited to see and have the comparison of their performances.

Brownlee will serve as good backup since JC is not always available unless he will show his interest playing then Brownlee will give him the spot, for now, we will check if how brownlee will impact the nationals, gilas is alredy forming their solid combination, adding brownlee to tha squad will give them extra offensive threat.

We will only see if what addition can he provide once the game starts for FIBA competition.

Brownlee could play in the FIBA ASIA while JC will play in the FIBA world. I guess most of the international competition, it will be Brownlee that has more available time than JC because he is an NBA player and they have a long season. Anyway, it doesn't matter though, both players are great and they are loved by the Filipino Fans.
You know the PH fans when it comes to basketball. If they like a basketball player, they will be loved so much that even the player himself will be grateful to it. That's how we PH fans are when we like a player. Just look how we are seeing Brownlee and Clarkson right now. Even Blatche was loved by the PH fans and now, Prosper is the one who got the attention of PH fans. More to come.

Brownlee has more time than Clarkson, but it will still depend. I don't know if it's possible, but can a naturalized Filipino player still play outside PH and sign a contract with other teams other than PH?

Yes you are right that mate once they added Justin brownlee for the team Gillas Pilipinas then it will makes the team more stronger than before and also it's a good option for the team as we all know that Jordan Clarkson currently playing in NBA which is they have longer season and Jordan Clarkson sometimes can not play in Gillas once his team has a sched to play. And Brownlee must fullfil the needs of Gillas pilipinas team.

To many conflicts for Jordan Clarkson so the best option they could take is Justin Brownlee since he's also a good contributor which we already see in PBA. For sure eventhough Clarkson is not around for sure they can rely on his skills so hopefully Brownlee can submit all things needed so that Gilas can get good help and their campaign will became more exciting. Also hopefully they will not insert the Ravena brothers since this could ruin their rotations.

Not a sched or something, but the season should be over before Clarkson can play with the Gilas as it will also take time to practice before playing in the actual competition, and that cannot happen while the season is still on going. Also, right now, he is the star player of the Utah Jazz, so his team will surely not gonna him to loss his focus on their goal to be in the playoffs.

BTW, Brownlee and Clarkson can't play together as FIBA only allows one naturalized player at a time so i think it would be Clarkson that will play.

That's really sad but it's okay because they have Clarkson who can carry the team. He will surely be an all star this season in the NBA, so that alone is already a big plus factor for the Gilas team to be recognize in the FIBA. What they need is a good chemistry, not only Clarkson will contribution, everyone should do their task although it's very obvious that Clarkson will do a heavy load.
Clarkson isn't always available to play in the Gilas Pilipinas so it's good to have a 2nd naturalized player like Brownlee that can join and participate to different tournaments aside from the FIBA World Cup.

On the upcoming world cup, Clarkson will play no doubt and I think Brownlee already knew it. The chemistry is starting to build up already and our team played very well on the recent window for the FIBA World Cup against Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

That is a very bad news about gillas pilipinas as they are needing another star player to improve well anyway as you said gillas have Jordan Clarkson which we all know how he play in the court and also kai sotto is plus points by them as he is a big man who can work in the center and a good contributor as a defender and for rebounding the ball. Now all can gillas do is to build their chemistry in order to have a good play.

We should not expect that we will be a strong team in the FIBA world because we are not, maybe competitive but we will not belong in the top 10. Having Clarkson is good, and since Clarkson is already a superstar in the NBA, he should be able to make Gilas team an interesting team.

Hopefully he won't easily get tired as FIBA world competition are very physical, and with his body size, I doubt he would dominate inside.
