The Road Warriors franchise is for sale, multiple sources told SPIN.ph.

After coach Yeng Guiao's departure from NLEX seems like the above statement is coming to fruition. Though there are no solid evidence yet but if there is smoke, there must be a fire lol. Attaching below the article written by a very controversial Spin.ph contributor Homer Sayson, you be the judge if what he is writing is true or just pure rumors.

I just wish him all the best with his career back to ROS and I guess he's got more control there than what he has left with NLEX.

Since Rain Or Shine has no sister teams, there should be no supposed hindrance on their future trades. I miss the strong ROS where in All-Filipino, they can compete competitively. It's good to see that Coach Yeng is again working in a team that has no sister teams. He is capable of extracting the very best of a certain player and can turned that into a good role player.

Although I think he is changed now and not that strict in practice. His bad mouthing for any errors that his players committed during the game is more of giving a determination rather than discouragement.
Coach Yeng is a veteran coach and just look how the ROS way back years ago when he is the coach at that time. ROS is going in the playoffs, and they are one of the strongest independent teams at that time. When he left, that's when the ROS crumble.

Looking at the roster of ROS right now, they don't have an all-star that can carry the team, but I believe like you do that he is capable in extracting the talents of these players. Players like Nambatac, Santillan and even Shaun Ildefonso. I believe that he can help these players unleash their full potential. I just hope that MVP or SMC will not milk ROS and will make unequal trades "again".

We've known Coach Yeng as a fierce coach. He is yelling at his players and spitting bad words to them in the court but outside, there are many players saying that he is the complete opposite.

Different approach and different take from the players, they are all pro and understand the value of everything, if you are a good player you will not look for the bad side but instead you will treat that as a good motivation if in case your mentor yell at you. There's always a good reason that you develop and adjust. As long as you are willing to handle and take it, things will be go smoothly between you and your coach.

We don't know yet if there's a good improvement that will take place. Coach Yeng just went back and for sure, a lot of adjustment was needed.

Belga and Norwood are no longer in their prime even they are still deadly, but the body movement, especially their speed, is un-match now with prime superstars of their opposing teams.

NLEX wasn't really a popular team. It's always the TNT or Meralco which usually goes to the finals, so they don't need a good coach I believe. Well, coach Yeng was good but I think he was not given everything he needs, the reason why his team was underperforming.

Actually, NLEX has a big chance making it to the Finals last season in the Governors Cup because of their import KJ McDaniels. As mentioned by other user here previously, KJ McDaniels were unable to finish his playing career in NLEX because of the delays that surely affected his own timeline to follow. He is averaging a monster stats on that conference and a top candidate as a Best Import if only he able to finished his tenure.

Aside from that, NLEX finished 2nd on that conference and still secures the twice-to-beat advantages in the playoffs even the team faced several problems like, best cager Jericho Cruz rejects the NLEX offer and choose to signed with SMB, Kiefer Ravena leaving the team for his Japan stint, Calvin Oftana's season ending injury and lastly, KJ McDaniels decision t return home.
That was a golden moment for NLEX but still failed to utilize it, they have multiple opportunities but it looks like it’s not their time yet. Well, with a lot of changes happening on them right now I’m pretty sure they are still working to be one of a great team in PBA. From getting a good players up to hiring a good coaches, NLEX is trying to rebuild their reputation and it may take some time before we saw the result. Let’s see if they can get another good import this time to help their key players against the big teams.

Well, he's famous for bad-mouthing his players but that's him and his part of the way of approach to his players. Basically, if a player sees it that he's been bad mouth, it's up to him whether he'll take that personally, as a way of encouragement and do better so no bad mouthing every official game or every practice game.

IIRC, he has mentioned that he's got really no power for those trades. And it's like a little expose' through his words but not that vulgar, sort of giving a hint with the trade that happens.
I just wish him all the best with his career back to ROS and I guess he's got more control there than what he has left with NLEX.

It is not really an expose if everybody knows that some teams are farm teams of bigger teams. But I think it is the first time that I heard a coach speak it out loud. And it is sad that PBA is tolerating one-sided trades. I guess because only a few teams can attract large crowds in their games like Ginebra, San Miguel, and the like. PBA let them do this because they know that their tickets will sell out if these teams play in the playoffs and especially in the finals. But it is also detrimental to the competitiveness of the league because, at some point, you already know which teams will make it to the finals, and which have the highest percentage of winning.
He's just well spoken and there's no hindrance that he had told it vulgar to everybody and that's why he's one of the best coach out there.

Nothing against Ginebra and I agree that Brownlee really bring boost to this team, that's why they keep having him from time to time. But if SMB will play the same hypes that they've shown last all-Filipino cup, I can say that they still have the upper hand, they've got two imports as the other team needs to take care of Fajardo while the real import will make the damages in terms of offensive productions.

Import plays a very important role on tournament that have import because Filipino players is no match against import on 1 on 1 and also they have most of the FGA attempt. Team that usually win the championship on tournament with import are those with a very effective import like Ginebra which Brownlee is always reliable and consistent on finishing the tournament to victory unlike other import that usually choke on the Finals.

I believe Brownlee is still the despite he is not that explosive during regular games since he is always showing a very dominant performance in and out when Ginebra needed him the most.

Agree with that as they didn't make it to the NBA Finals, so there's not much to expect from this team.

The popular teams in the NBA are as follows based IMO.

1-SMB
2-Ginebra
3-Magnolia

4-TNT
5-Meralco

NLEX supposed to be popular so both owners will have 3 teams that are a championship contender.
This is PBA mate, we are still far from the level of NBA.  Grin
Anyway, NLEX is indeed not a good team considering their previous standing but of course having a good coach in your team can still make a good difference all they have to do is to find a good players and once they have it, they should start creating a more effective strategy that can actually compete with those top teams. I believe they still have the chance, and it's actually good to see new names in the finals and hoping that NLEX can be on that level someday. Let's see how that changes affect the team on their upcoming games, NLEX should prepare more if they really want to get at least a semi-final spot.

Hey Yo' Kabayan, it was PBA I know it's just a typo error but just to make sure for those who are not familiar with our local basketball league, and I agree with your selections, those 2 giant companies owns those well-known franchise and they are keep dominating the league. They've got the money and the influence so they are really doing well in manipulating trades.

Coach Yeng voices it out, but jut like a gossip nothing happened as the commisioners are out of hands touching those big bosses.

That's fair for the NLEX, but they weren't really that consistent though. Anyway, do you think KJ McDaniels will still come back as an import of any PBA team? I like to see him as he can compete with Justin Brownlee, because if not, I'm afraid, Brownlee will still win as the best import.

I also miss Durham which was the best import of Meralco.

NLEX would be bringing in Earl Clark as import this coming Commissioner Cup so I think KJ McDaniels will be out of the picture unless someone needs to be replaced but I doubt McDaniels is available, he should have been the first choice for NLEX as an import. Brownlee will always be the favorite to win the best import because of the complements the locals give to him, I mean in an AFC Ginebra is a title contender, and bringing him in will only make Ginebra stronger but we have to see first how the imports of TNT and SMB perform as these teams are also the team to beat this conference especially now that Junemar is healthy.

KJ McDaniels leaving the team was the huge factor for the team to struggle. They have built a chemistry and we can really tell how dominant KJ McDaniels is as an import, saw him before in other team, and he played better with NLEX, it's just unfortunate, they could have a chance to reach the NBA Finals as I think Fajardo that time was still injured or not 100%.

Another rumor though, I thought the assistant coach of NLEX already get the signal to coach the team for at least a year. Well, another Reyes in the league most probably it can create that speculation and that connection as a sister team. Most probably the Josh is trying to make his own name in PBA since his dad is quiet old now and can now have his retirement.
Yes, it's another rumor that I've just read. And whatever Josh will do, I don't think that he'll ever make a name for himself. There will always be a connection from his father up to both of their careers and to the issues that they're part of.

Let’s see if NLEX will settle for that and wait for their final announce with regards to this.
We'll have to wait if that's for real or not.

I believe Adonis Tierra is named interim head coach until a new head coach is found. Meaning he can still be replaced as head coach. The rumor that Josh Reyes as the head coach of NLEX can still be true. We know how close they are to MVP.  And if this is true, it may be a way to groom him as the new coach of Gilas too. I am just speculating here but it is not very far from the truth given how favored they are with MVP.
Connections after connections even if there's a lack of experience, still, having that closeness to the management will hit him the work as the new coach. Still, we'll wait for the official one.
