Unlike now, they are full of I don't know how to describe but with coach Yeng, he might bring more competitiveness with those young stars

It would be nice to see more from Nambatac, knowing the style of coach Yeng he will give motivations and allow his players to bring all the best that they've got.

This is probably the reason why Coach Yeng is hired back to ROS.  Since Coach Yeng had previously brought ROS to a championship and I think 5- 6 finals appearances, the management is hoping that Coach Yeng can tap the potential of these "you don't know how to describe stuff"  players and make the ROS team more competitive in the coming cup.

He only got three former players, Belga, Norwood and Ponferada not sure if though with Ponferada but for Belga and Norwood they are part of RoS championship caliber squad

I believe Ponferrada is part of the ROS Commissioners Cup's championship squad.

I'll just share what I've seen in a post from a basketball page that the coach that will replace Yeng for NLEX is going to be none other than Chot's son, Josh.
Well, the management isn't naming him yet due to the fact that he's still in the hot issue that the father and son have taken it. If this is going to be true, then everyone is already going to smell the connection between the two teams. So, we're going to have that sister team again and likely that these two would be open for trades and, might be just exclusive to them.
Another rumor though, I thought the assistant coach of NLEX already get the signal to coach the team for at least a year. Well, another Reyes in the league most probably it can create that speculation and that connection as a sister team. Most probably the Josh is trying to make his own name in PBA since his dad is quiet old now and can now have his retirement. Let’s see if NLEX will settle for that and wait for their final announce with regards to this.

At least the chemistry between coach and players and other stuff is already there.  It will only need a few adjustments from coach Yeng to fully utilize the talent of his players.  Besides coach Yeng Guiao is already accustomed to his subordinate since Coach Yeng and Garcia have good chemistry during their coaching partnership days (Guiao being the head coach and Garcia as the assistant).

For sure the chemistry is still there but some of the players whom he trusted have been traded or moved to another team so this will be like starting from scratch for coach Yeng Guiao. I don't know what will be the complications of him vocally criticizing the PBA when he moved back to ROS. Does the league sanction him or heed his call for a transparent transaction of trades of these super-rich companies like SMC and MVP?

Even James Yap can't make ROS a competitive team this coming conference, he will be just there so ROS/PBA can formally retire him and give recognition to what he brought to the PBA.

He only got three former players, Belga, Norwood and Ponferada not sure if though with Ponferada but for Belga and Norwood they are part of RoS championship caliber squad, I used to remember when Chan and Lee was still in the lineup it's always entertaining to see them playing like the Badboys of the NBA, they are physical but very talented squads who don't fear any team.

Unlike now, they are full of I don't know how to describe but with coach Yeng, he might bring more competitiveness with those young stars

So Coach Luigi Trillio is one of the candidates of becoming the head coach of the team and I think it's expected (at least for me) knowing how he handled the Bolts last playoffs. We also saw Coach Jong who has been a head coach in PBA years ago. No idea who the 3rd coach is since he is in the UAAP and I'm not watching UAAP games.

Most likely Dulatre's job will be very short because they will find a more experience coach to head the coaching job, however, there's still plenty of time for coach Dulatre to prove to the management that he is deserving to be the head coach, I'm sure that's also his mind as no one would want an assistant coach forever.

That's a challenge for him, he was given a chance now to coach NLEX, so his performance is very important to pass the expectation of the management. if he can make this team successful, there's no reason for the management to look for a new coach, even if it's a popular coach, or even if it's coach Tab.  Grin
There's always a big expectation for the coaches to deliver the best system and it is indeed a good exposure for coach Dulatres, if NLEX will finish on a good position in the upcoming conference, most probably he will stay with the team to continue the system. We cannot expect him to perform very well on his first year, there's no coach that can make the team better again in just a short period of time, usually for you to have a good system it will always take time. Even the top coaches can't make a good team from a scratch, it will always depend how they work on it.

He is not new to the team as he was the assistant coach, so the system is not new to him, if he see something to be fix, then for sure he would do that to improve his team and he will get the credit as a coach. Remember, when coach Yeng left ROS, Caloy Garcia which was an assistant coach that time was the one who assumed the post and he become the head coach for many seasons, until this time he was back being an assistant again if I'm not mistaken.

So for those who are asking about the new coach of NLEX, the name is already revealed.

NLEX taps Adonis Tierra as interim coach

To be honest, I don't know this coach but since the management trusted him, then I wish them the best and I hope NLEX will still remain as a team that could compete against the heavy names in the NBA.
I can't see any affiliate about their new coach aside from he's a former PBA player and drafter as number 2 before, that could be the reason why NLEX trust him for one year contract. Well, there's a lot of good imports that other teams are able to get, and I hope NLEX also got one because they have a good local players already, they just need to execute it properly every game. With this new coaching staff, let's see if they will become more competitive especially now that a new team will also come in PBA.

That's better for NLEX because there's not much expectation, so if this interim coach will fail, they can just look for another coach to improve the team. When coach Yeng arrived at NLEX, there are huge expectations from him but he failed that's why he goes back to his old team.

Expectation vs reality and coach Yeng did not suitable for the NLEX team because his system was not capable for the players that's why they will not  reach the magic 4 last season. Also maybe that's a good decision that coach yeng go back to his old team because if he is there for sure a big chance of winning is weaving next season, because they already have a bonding and build a chemistry from the old players in Rain or Shine.

I don't think the blame is on the players, I believe it's the coaching job is not good. It's my personal opinion only, so now that he is back with the ROS, and assuming they have good players, then can we expect that ROS will improve and will become a championship contender?

Well looking in the article, he is the assistant coach of the NLEX so maybe he can do the job as he has been the assistant coach of the Road Warriors for 8 years. He knows his players and knows what are the adjustments that he will do for his team.

We don't know him because he is only an assistant coach for NLEX under Coach Yeng and now he will be the interim coach of the team. Interim meaning the management will continue the search in finding a new head coach.

On that article, it also says:
Quote
Dulatre said the search for the next coach is in the level of top management even as names like Meralco assistant coach Luigi Trillo, Gilas Pilipinas assistant coach Jong Uichico, and former UAAP champion coach Eric Altamirano have been mentioned in the coaching search.

Yeah, remember that name, but it is still as interim coach status so, it will be short and under the microscope of the organization and see if he is a perfect fit or not. And he has the experience as player and assistance coach of Yeng in NLEX. so they just relegated him to full status as (interim) coach. It is also mentioned that they are getting the services of ex-NBA player Earl Clark as reinforcement for the Commissioner's cup.

He was a champion couch and that’s why many are expecting from his system that much but he failed on NLEX not because of a bad system but it looks like their players is not good enough to have a good battle with the top teams. Now that he’s back to his old team, it still not guaranteed to see him back in the semi-finals, there’s a lot of works that needs to be done for sure with ROS, and they should start the adjustments now. ROS is a good team with a caliber players, better to maximize those skilled players and have a better plays, they still have the chance to go back in top for sure.

Yes, he is still injured and recovering, it was not just a simple back spasm, but a slip disc. So he needed to take sometime out, and rehab that back so there is no timeline for his return because it is a serious injury that needed to be taken care of. And so we are still going to miss him, he said that he still nursing that injury and only 40-50%. So he need to sit it out before he can practice with SMB again.
Ouch, that's still a lot for him to go until he comes back in action. Well, still, with his injury he's still receiving salary from the SMB and he has chosen them over the B League opportunity so I guess that's what he's getting from his loyalty to the team.

We'll still miss him for the next season to come. And what we know with these injuries, when a player gets it and it's hard, we may expect him that he's not going to be full back on his former him.

Yes, no timetable for him to comeback, only him can say that he wants to play again if he feels healthy. At least SMB won and that is good enough for him. Of course, he wants to contribute, but his health is the most important thing for him. And it's good that he remain loyal as least to the PBA because we may have more time to see him perform, we will just have to wait. He brings a lot for SMB if he will comeback and play, so for sure, they are going to be one of the favorite to win again.
The morale support is all what he can do on that finals but still, he's part of it no matter what his health condition is and he's under contract. SMB is one of the teams where PBA players can really retire well and be part of it unless they're being traded by the management itself.
AFAIK, if a PBA player retires and he's going to retire under SMB or its sister company Ginebra, they're being assisted with some business that will be given to them.

I'm seeing videos now coach Yeng training the ROS roster. Looks like his return to his old team is hyped, hopefully this would have a good result and ROS will once again be a competitive team like they were in the past.

I'm guessing, maybe this will be his last team before he will retire.
There’s no rumor about retirement, they are too focused now on the hype and probably will make ROS great again with a help of those hype. They have to get a good players to catch up with the big teams, now with their old coach I think their system will start to improve. There’s no announcement yet with this, and maybe this will just a hype at all, let’s see this upcoming conference imports are really looking good and interesting to see new imports.

Red Bull Barako and Rain-Or-Shine before it's not just about being handled by a good Coach Yeng but their roster is really deep during their prime day. Seeing the current ROS roster and they are not involved in some trading nowadays, I doubt Coach Yeng can turn the team competitive again.

The team needs to reshuffle their roster but I doubt ROS will pay decent money to sign a caliber player that can act as their main man. Hoping that their signed import next conference is one of the best and can bring a boost for the team.

You are correct, the current lineup is not that competitive compared with SMB and MVP teams, they are way far from these two giant companies, though coach Yeng may add good motivation but if the franchise is not willing to spend more money for much deeper squad, the chance is slim for them, unless the import that they will going to have this season can lift them.

I hope that James Yap will play good minutes now with coach Yeng. I'm looking forward to hear his name again before he retires his jersey.

To be honest, I don't know this coach but since the management trusted him, then I wish them the best and I hope NLEX will still remain as a team that could compete against the heavy names in the NBA.

NLEX is good during the 2021-22 Governors Cup because of their import of KJ McDaniels. They beat most of the top teams in that conference.

Unfortunately, because of the pandemic and Governor's Cup always halted, McDaniels didn't finish his PBA stint and need to return home.

If only they can hire an import with the same power skills like McDaniels, they can compete again with those top teams.

I remember that. It was saddened that McDaniels needs to choose his family over his work because of the pandemic. They almost have that title chased, but unfortunately he needs to go home and be replaced and the chase didn't work in their favor. Hope to see them with the kind of import who will bring them to that level and give them the title.
