So for those who are asking about the new coach of NLEX, the name is already revealed.

NLEX taps Adonis Tierra as interim coach

To be honest, I don't know this coach but since the management trusted him, then I wish them the best and I hope NLEX will still remain as a team that could compete against the heavy names in the NBA.
I can't see any affiliate about their new coach aside from he's a former PBA player and drafter as number 2 before, that could be the reason why NLEX trust him for one year contract. Well, there's a lot of good imports that other teams are able to get, and I hope NLEX also got one because they have a good local players already, they just need to execute it properly every game. With this new coaching staff, let's see if they will become more competitive especially now that a new team will also come in PBA.

That's better for NLEX because there's not much expectation, so if this interim coach will fail, they can just look for another coach to improve the team. When coach Yeng arrived in NLEX, there are huge expectations from him but he failed that's why he goes back to his old team.

I'm seeing videos now coach Yeng training the ROS roster. Looks like his return to his old team is hyped, hopefully this would have a good result and ROS will once again be a competitive team like they were in the past.
Because fans missed him, ROS were really a great team when coach Yeng was still the coach, and slowly they transformed into a trash team when coach Yeng left he team, so the expectation is really high, he better not disappoint the fans.

I'm guessing, maybe this will be his last team before he will retire.
At his age, most probably he will retire as a ROS.

With how SMB perfoms last season, we know that they are still hungry for more title and if possible, maybe chasing for another grand slam is very possible for them with their current lineup. Though coach Leo mentioned from his interview that this upcoming season with the imports they've got 50% more while other teams have 100% upgrade with their respective imports, what he means by that is imports can guard Fajardo and that lessen their advantage unlike with all-Filipino Fajardo is really the big edge of the team.

Yes you are right that mate SMB aiming for more champions but this season is a challenge season for them because as we all know that every team has an import and those imports has the ability to guard fajardo and other imports ad well so we can see a good matchup this season.

But for me they will use that as a good challenge to perform more, knowing that the addition of those imports will really give them a tough matchup but SMB is a well-design squad they are ready to play and I'm seeing that Fajardo is not done yet, he still providing space and get an easy basket each time the team needs him.

I think Romeo is already healthy, we might see him in the next conference, and just imagine, SMB won the championship even without him, just think how good the SMB having a healthy Romeo. Also, if he is still not ready, there's no pressure on him as the current roster can still manage to win.

Even though the projected timeline of Terrence Romeo's return is 2 months after that last injury (June-August), I think he's still not in his 100% shape currently.

I don't see him playing until the mid-half of the upcoming conference.

Regardless, SMB is still a powerhouse team even if they extend the recovery period for Romeo. They can deploy him a few games remaining in the eliminations or go straight into the playoffs.

More like in the playoffs, they need a 100% Romeo so he can really help the team. SMB will surely reach the playoffs with the present lineup, so there's nothing to worry, Romeo could just continue with his rehabilitation and be 100% comes the playoffs time.

Seeing him 100% is quite entertaining, but let's hope that he won't be injured again as, during his stay with the SMB, he has been injured many times already. IIRC, he won a finals MVP, so you can really tell his value in the playoffs.

Indeed, the value of having him is quite high. His impact when playing creates more options. He knows how to find Fajardo and Tau, while if he needs to attack the basket or shoot outside, he's always having that. We need to wait for the final update and if he's going to be playing this season or on the next PBA openings.

This upcoming season is the best season to watch because there are a lot of teams who getting stronger and stronger plus the import they have has a average height of 6 foot 10  which is the big advantages of every team to have a good import.

Yes, he is still injured and recovering, it was not just a simple back spasm, but a slip disc. So he needed to take sometime out, and rehab that back so there is no timeline for his return because it is a serious injury that needed to be taken care of. And so we are still going to miss him, he said that he still nursing that injury and only 40-50%. So he need to sit it out before he can practice with SMB again.
Ouch, that's still a lot for him to go until he comes back in action. Well, still, with his injury he's still receiving salary from the SMB and he has chosen them over the B League opportunity so I guess that's what he's getting from his loyalty to the team.

We'll still miss him for the next season to come. And what we know with these injuries, when a player gets it and it's hard, we may expect him that he's not going to be full back on his former him.

Yes, no timetable for him to comeback, only him can say that he wants to play again if he feels healthy. At least SMB won and that is good enough for him. Of course, he wants to contribute, but his health is the most important thing for him. And it's good that he remain loyal as least to the PBA because we may have more time to see him perform, we will just have to wait. He brings a lot for SMB if he will comeback and play, so for sure, they are going to be one of the favorite to win again.

No update with his comeback, but he's on the bench during the finals. Though he's not in uniform but he fully supports the team and gives them some boost while cheering at the sideline. Base from the last repost, he is still in pain and he's trying to condition his body and with the therapies that he is undergoing right now, maybe we can expect him back after this new season (hopefully)

There's no announcement yet, so it's just an speculation we have here. We love to see him playing again as we miss his fancy moves, for sure he can still play, maybe not a starting 5 but as part of the 2nd unit, they will be so scary because they look like a starting 5 for a weak teams.

Romeo understands his role after being traded to SMB. He knows when the coach calls him to play, and unlike with Northport, before where he knows that he's one of the starters. He adjusted a lot for SMB and the returned for him was winning a title and a final's MVP. We are not sure though if he will be back just like what I've mentioned no update yet on his return the only good thing is he already recovering and the chance of seeing him dancing again is not by far, maybe another conference but might possible that it won't take another year for him to be back inside the court, hopefully when he comes back he already have that full recovery and the same Romeo that we are always wanted to see, he's still young and still on his prime.

Romeo plays a big role on their team and no matter how successful the team is, things would still be different with him playing and performing. I hope he'll get himself ready because lots of fans are still waiting for his comeback and to be honest, SMB will still be a big threat when he's on the team.

Together with Perez, Tau, Manuel and the goat of PBA Fajardo, they reclaim the throne and win the title.
I'm happy for Perez and Tau and for the other members of SMB who has won their first ever title.
Perez is just like Romeo winning his first title with SMB, I'm in the impression that he might have the same fate in winning the finals MVP but it's Fajardo who really make the big difference between these two rivals, unlike with Romeo before the numbers stated that he really have enough numbers to win the finals MVP.
Speaking of Romeo, where he is right now? Still, injured? And is there news that he's going back for the next conference? I haven't seen some news about him lately.
The last one that I heard was when he got an offer to play for B League but he refused it and chose to stay with his team as he said, he's got indebted to the management.

If they continue to do what coach yeng stated on currently happening on PBA for sure those independent team will go away. Alaska already leave the league because for sure they think that its not really good for their organization to continue their campaign in PBA since its been dominated by 2 big companies. Maybe if the commissioner is really serious to make this league fair they should have transparent salary cap so that there's no under the table deal between stars and it will be fair to everyone to have chance to be a contender team.

I don't know how can it be fair since we can't blame San Miguel Corp. and MVP group of companies if they can afford to offer a decent contract to those best-performing players. If they limit the salary cap, these best players might end up considering playing overseas instead of playing in locals.

For me, if the trade is between the best players of each team, PBA should weigh if it's fair or not. What I mean is, be balanced. For example, SMB wants Robert Bolick in exchange for their several bench players, that's not fair trade. Although we can't hide the fact that SMC is influential that's why even the trade is not fair, they will call it fair from both parties.

Something that the commissioners and the board can avoid if they are really doing their job, but the influence of this two giant companies continue to put things on their control, I believe that there's nothing that we fan can do from this kind of manipulations, the very reason why fans are no longer that much interested with PBA, unlike before where each team have good numbers of real fans even the ROS before which had been tag as the bad boys of this league they've got real fans who loves them and cheer for them.

That is the best they can do, do not allow big team to farm smaller teams. They cannot limit the salary but at least they can assure that all trades will be of fair value. This will allow independent teams to build stronger teams that will be able to compete with big teams. That will also make PBA a more competitive organization. It is better to watch teams competing in equal footing rather than watch one or two teams dominate the whole association.

On the other hand, I saw some rumors again that MVP team coaches will be shuffled. I don't know how and why but looking on how Coach Luigi Trillio coached the Bolts when Coach Norman Black is still out, I'm guessing that he might be the new coach of NLEX but we don't know since there are no news coming out yet on who will be the next coach of the Road Warriors. Any insights?

Most probably, NLEX does need an experienced coach because they always fall short of their target to be a championship team. However, Luigi Trillo vs Coach Yeng, I think Coach Yeng is the better coach but I don't want to judge because I believe that we should give a new coach a chance to prove himself for at least one season.
I agree but NLEX will still not be a championship team even though they have an experienced coach because their roster isn't enough for the team to be a championship caliber team.

I mean right now, if you want to win a title, you must have a star-studded team like SMB or even TNT who is loaded with players who are very good in our current league. Coach Yeng is more experienced than Coach Trillio but if MVP want Coach Trillio to have more experience in coaching then being with the NLEX is his best option. He coached the Bolts really well, so he deserves that spot but let's wait who will be the next coach of NLEX.

If they continue to do what coach yeng stated on currently happening on PBA for sure those independent team will go away. Alaska already leave the league because for sure they think that its not really good for their organization to continue their campaign in PBA since its been dominated by 2 big companies. It will continue and we don't know when it will end. Maybe if we will have a new commissioner or if the salaries will be transparent like you said.

Speaking of transparency, this has been said to the PBA many times already that the salaries of each player must be transparent like in the NBA but they aren't doing anything and I think they will do nothing about it which is kind of sad TBH as a fan because Coach Yeng is right that the league is being dominated by SMC and MVP and those independent teams are being called as "milking teams" where these 2 companies will make an unequal trade to them just to be stronger.

Maybe Romeo still injured right now, I did not saw him playing for smb team in finals I don't think so if he can play next season for the SMB team. And also if he is fully recovered for his injury then for sure he has a chance to play and have a good time again in PBA, as we all know that Romeo has a potential because he is one of the best dribbler and ball handler and a good shooter us well. Hoping so that in the next series we can see Romeo playing in the hard court.
