Yeah, that was the first game-winning 4-point shot in the history of the league. Magnolia is a good team, but I believe TNT's import is better than Magnolia's.
That will go down in the books. The first player to hit a 4-point shot was Chris Banchero, and the most recent was Scotty Hopson (Converge import), who hit a game-winning shot from that area. With the new rule introduced this season, the PBA has become even more exciting. A 4-point lead, which used to be a two-possession game, is now just one possession. With one shot, the game can be tied, but in the game between TNT and Converge, it was a game-winning shot.

Quote
I'm sure RHJ will make sure what happened in their previous game doesn't happen again. This is likely to be a double-digit win by TNT.
I have no doubt about this. I thought this season the competition would only be between Durham and Brownlee, but I forgot that RHJ is the import for TNT, and we all know he is an exceptional player.

I didn't bet on the first game, and as usual, DYIP continues to struggle, they’re still winless. For the second game, I backed NLEX along with bisdak, but I went with the moneyline instead of the handicap. I was so happy after the first quarter, but things went south as NLEX got dominated by ROS. I now don't trust this team due to their lack of defense. Just like in their previous game, when they were up by a huge margin but allowed their opponent to go on a big run, the same thing happened this time, and it’s just sad they lost.

You said it right, NLEX unable to protect that huge lead during the first quarter, when ROS start to play defense they've been outscored in just 5 or 6 minutes of the 2nd quarter, then unable to catch up in the 2nd half and totally being dominated.

It's unfortunate that they didn't learn from their past mistakes. I don't know if they can be a championship contender with the way they play. We all know that defense is a very important factor in winning, and so far, it seems like this team doesn't possess it.

Later, we have two more games:

Northport vs. Converge
TNT vs. Magnolia (this one is worth betting on). I'm taking TNT here.

I like this pick, TNT might be more aggrressive after that upset against Converge still wondering how that 4 point rule change the outcome of that last game, but what is done is done.. Hahahaha.. Good luck kabayan!

seems your first pick today also not good DYIP after trying to make that rally during the third got run out of gas in the final quarter, looking forward with your last pick! Good luck kabayan!

Congrats Kabyan with your 1st win and good luck in your 2nd pick!

Lost my second bet kabayan, Justine Brownlee had a monstrous game last night as he tallied his career high of 51 points which was enough to hand SMB its first loss in three outings.

For tonight's game, below are my picks:

DYIP +8.5 @1.87 vs Meralco
NLEX +4.5 @1.85 vs ROS

Yes Kabayan not sure what happened with SMB they rally in the third with Teng and Romeo's taking in charge with their offense but like what you said it's JBL who take charge and carried the Gin kings, as always, JBL do his task and bring that win for his team.

I always check the play-by-play, but it hasn't been available this season, now I know the reason. Despite that, I think the PBA isn't doing a good job of updating their website. Since they already planned that implementation, they should have ensured everything would work, particularly their website where we can get the statistics. Now, we have no option but to watch the game to stay updated. Also, I've noticed that there are already a lot of people watching the games. Are they still running a promo?

That's so frustrating on our part since we rely on their websites to get the data of the games and the statistics of the players but they have not updated their website. Maybe there is a reason why they did not update their website.

Anyways, we have two games for today.

My bets:

Converge +9.5 @1.89 vs TNT
SMB -3.5 @1.89 vs Ginebra

What a game for Converge, outscoring TNT in the last quarter and manage to escape that close game exchange of scoring both import played so well though only one team will win, Just in the impression that you'll win your handicap but not expecting that TNT will be that careless losing that game from converge, the highlight is that 4-point shot if that new rule did not implemented yet it's just an ordinary OT that we will going to watch out. But, lucky for Cnverge that the import risk that last shot and made it.

2nd game between sister teams not sure if how both teams will play around, looking to see Abarrientos to play well today together with JBL and the rest of Gin kings.

Congrats Kabyan with your 1st win and good luck in your 2nd pick!

Got my W but it wasn't easy. NLEX once again were too careless letting Phoenix came back from a huge deficit and even lead in the 4th quarter, good thing the comeback wasn't completed and NLEX bag another win.
Congratulations on your win.
Thank you, hopefully that will continue tomorrow.
You're welcome and good luck.

Great line up for the matches tomorrow. I've read somewhere that there should be a live update for each game that are happening like in the NBA but because of not yet updated algorithm for the 4-point shots, that's why those type of updates won't be possible for now.

IMHO, they should have updated all inline to this change. But it seems they're not prepared for it. It looked interesting and gathered the interest of the global basketball fans but somehow, they haven't fixed everything before implementing the changes.

We have the first game starting at 5 PM.

NLEX vs. Phoenix at Smart Araneta Coliseum. I find this match an interesting one as I predict it will be a high-scoring game. Therefore, my bet would be on the over 209.5. Yesterday, the game wasn't on a familiar court, so that's probably the reason why both teams struggled with their points. Today, this one should be a good match, and maybe it will be a close one, with OT being just another bonus to help this game go over.

It's a 50-50 game, although Phoenix is +1.5, but let's consider that. However, if I had to choose the winner, I think I'd go with NLEX.

Congrats on your win kabayan, that was a closely fought battle but luckily the NLEX Road Warriors took the win via big shots from Semeran and that booming three from Robbie Herndon sealed the win for the Road Warriors.
It didn't feel good to watch your team struggle after leading by a huge margin, but thankfully their shots were falling in the end. That was a classic example of how exciting the PBA is, where no big lead is safe, and a team can come back if they play strong defense especially a team like Phoenix, who excels at that.

Have not bet on the PBA games for the past few days as i'm out of town but definitely i'll be back on the betting board tomorrow.
Good timing as they'll start again tomorrow, just one break and the games will continue.

Ginebra vs. ROS game is starting soon, and the line is -4.5 for Ginebra. What do you guys think? Will Ginebra be a better team without Pringle and C. Stand, or will they struggle to find their chemistry?

For me, I think I'll just wait and watch the game first. If I see an opportunity at the half, I might take Ginebra, especially if they are down. I have no concerns about JB's performance, but I'm more focused on his teammates, especially the young players who were traded for C. Stand and Pringle.

For Gin kings fans for sure that handicap will easily be picking up knowing how explosive they are when JBL is around, though like you it's still better to watch the game first, if you have a chance to bet when they are down and the handicap change in between then the chance to win is more likely decent and who knows if ever that ROS start strong if bookies gives them the heavy favor odds that a good risk to take as for sure it's an eay double or more knowing how Gin kings plays during the last quarter..

As I was expecting, sometimes they aren't on the same page. I think they are still trying to figure out how to blend well with the new additions to the team. What I noticed in the game is that Ginebra has lost their dominance in the paint. They missed C. Stand in that area, as Go isn't of the same caliber, and Japeth is also getting older. I was looking for Abbarientos to have a good debut with Ginebra, but he was having a bad game. Most of his assists were not converted into points, so it's clear that there's a need to fix things for the team to click well.

I agree they missed the dominance of CStand, knowing him fighting for the position and trying to get that second chance point, Go is not a kind of player that will try to force figthing for that rebound no threat from him unlike with CStand who can give that solid 5 position either to create his own shot or to give some space for their gunners.

Though still early for them, lots of game to play and lots of practice to work together and same with your observation Abbarientos debut is not that much impressive looking forward to see him blending with those seniors and jive their games.

Not a good start for the Gin Kings and Brownlee as they fell to ROS. I wasn't able to finish the game, but I suspect it was Lanete, the rookie from Sweden (that's what I heard from the announcers), who was probably the player of the game. This rookie has proven he can compete, and he was very smart with his decisions. I see that ROS is going to improve this season, especially since they have a good import as well. By the way, I lost my bet too. Although I didn't bet on the Gin Kings' spread, I bet on the team total, which was over, but it turned out to be a low-scoring game and Ginebra didn't even reach 70 points.

Not good for DYIP; it looks like they're going to lose again. It's 43-51 after the first half, an 8-point deficit for DYIP. It's sad because Pringle and C. Stand are on this struggling team, and they might not improve with the current lineup.
Already a 23 point lead in the 4th with 6 minute remaining in the game, this is already a sure win by the Northport. Now, it seems like C. Stand made a wrong decision asking for a trade as he went to a bad team, they call it a farm team.  So hopefully he could get out early so he can still save his career.

Are you saying that he was the one asking for this trade? Wow, that would be an idiotic move on his part of moving away from the most famous team in the PBA hehe.

All this time i thought that this whole trade thing was the idea of Alfrancis Chua. They trade Cstand to Terrafirma and from there they would ship him to his final destination and that is Magnolia but maybe i was wrong.

That was what is written in this article.

C-Stan trade request tough to ignore, admits Cone
Quote
NOW the cat is out of the bag.

While Tim Cone lauded Christian Standhardinger as a pro in the truest sense of the word, the Barangay Ginebra coach said they had to begin thinking about dealing him to other teams the moment he asked to be traded.

“Once he requested a trade from the team, however, it was hard to step away from that,” Cone said Saturday in a message to SPIN.ph when the Gin Kings finally found a taker for Standhardinger in Terrafirma.
