I don't think people are concerned with getting infected with the virus, if the government did not impose restrictions, we might still see a number of people going to public places despite the increase of virus spread. Now, that the audience is allowed already, expect that it will be soon the same as the NBA where the crowd is not anymore doing social distancing and wearing masks because they are confident they won't get sick as they are already vaccinated.

Knowing how hard-headed pinoy was, it's no surprise if after PBA allow live audiences we might not see proper implementations of safety protocols maybe from the gate they will show respect but after getting inside wild crowds if there's still interest will break those rules, just look how politicians are breaking the safety protocols.

Sorry to drag them here but I just showing example of how crowds are unable to control when excitement is already in them.

Hope for the best regarding to this decision. Smiley Wink

Starting next week, PBA will now allow live audiences in Araneta Coliseum. The requirements are people should already complete their vaccine doses. We know that the PBA live audiences are not that much even before pandemic unless it's Finals or Ginebra is playing. We hope that the return of audiences will boost their revenue to cover those losses in the bubble operation for 2 seasons.

Even I think only a few will watch live for now because of safety reasons, it's good to see that we are now slowly going back to normal.

Still few, due to this pandemic, people are also concerned about Omicron, though there are also fans who missed the game,
those who already completed their vaccines and an avid fan of certain team or player, they will take chances to watch the game in a live set up.

Glad to see that PBA is now back at home with live fans to cheer and add the energy for the team to play harder.

PBA needs to do something as they got lots of losses from the last 2 years of pandemic, bubble setting ain't enough.

2nd game - Rain or Shine vs DYIP

This game is getting more interesting as it went to OT, still live now, don't forget to watch.. I'm watching via smart live streaming as it's clear than watching on our local cable. Great game so far, I hope that ROS will win here.

Edit : wrong choice, Alex Cabagnot is killing ROS.

Indeed, good thing that the booster shots will work because these shots were created in the first place before omnicron variant was born. The IATF should allow these because it's part of their plan to boost the economy again in the Philippines, but I think just a 70% capacity because we know that these PBA games are played indoor. As of now, Philippines is starting to gain back to normal and no reports of this new variant.
For that, I think the schedules will be intact and people are really excited to watch again, including me.
They do work and now that the news came about the PBA is coming back to the big dome after getting a permit from the LGU of Quezon City, well, that's what we've been talking about. The IATF has already given the signal and the LGU has already given the permission, this is good news. And those fans that are longing to watch it live will surely purchase tickets as soon as they saw it available. Well done, to the LGU and as well as government, not politicking anything but just appreciating what was done.

That's a wonderful time news since many people want to see an actual game then now is the time.
But besides that what happens to setting capacities is it still social distancing or not?
Cause is this case many people want to saw PBA games. And I think that as they came back to the some there's a new rules and policies inside the dome.
But I do hope in 2022 we will back to normal.some games of PBA Will not stay in one arena. Like before they play in different part of the Philippines.
It really is. Expect that every event that will happen at this time of covid-19, all of it are going to require proper and minimum health standards such as social distancing. I guess it will only happen if there are really few and isolated cases or there are no more. Despite many fans are wanting to watch it live, they're for sure know these minimum health standard requirements that they have to follow and comply. Well, everyone has been waiting for this to happen and there it goes.

Just for a follow-up on PBA now allowing the live audience, it's not only Araneta Coliseum but also the MOA Arena in Pasay. Same with Quezon City, the Pasay City also approved PBA to held games there with audiences although it's likely next year to happen as the schedule on Araneta is now fixed.

To be exact, it's on Wednesday next week where PBA will be back on their original home arena which they last played last March 2020, the month where the NCR lockdown was implemented.

Fans welcome back as PBA games return to Big Dome

Maybe they are already planning to replace their import as they are not getting the expectation, that's alright, it's too early but they need to make the right move as they are already in a 2 losing streak.

It's a good move to not start an import but it's just 2 games. They should allow the import to adopt the phase of the game. Their import is the most highest-paid player on the roster and they should utilize it. If let's say 4-5 games, still not improving, time now to replace him rather than get him from the bench.

Let's see if that strategy can be effective. It's just that if I have an Import, I will allow him to play 48 minutes per game to adopt the PBA environment. Northport should give him a trial at least.

The game between Northport Batang Pier and NLEX Road Warriors is intense.
NLEX Import KJ McDaniels 40 points production on which 11 is on overtime, they able to escape the close game with the Batang Pier. With that win, they now established a clean 2-0 record to start the conference. If able to maintain that import's dominance, I hope NLEX will be one of the teams that can manage to give problems to those big teams.

Northport decided to exclude their import on the starting lineup. I don't know what they are thinking.

Really great game. This was a really close match and only five points difference into overtime got the results. I think the decision that you mentioned about NorthPort was a valid point, because I also cannot understand what they were planning to do with that move. It is really strange why they decided to exclude their import Huh!  But hats off to road warriors as they were onto it from the start.

Not sure what plan the coaching staff in mind, but it was still good as they managed to push the game into OT, but on the contrary if they place their import in their starting five maybe they will be able to edge away and snatched this game from NLEX, moving on, it's just another game to workout for NP.

They need to talk things out and assess if how they will bounce back on their next game..

Best of luck to all bettors.. Wink Cool

and just read the news. a really good one.

PBA to welcome back fans next week upon return to Big Dome

Quote
THE PBA is headed back 'home' by next week.

The pro league was finally given the go signal by the Quezon City local government to play its Governors Cup games at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, where fans will also be welcomed back to the games.

Commissioner Willie Marcial made the announcement on Friday night after the Alaska-San Miguel game at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City, which had hosted the first two weeks of the import-flavored conference.

Games will be played at the Big Dome starting on Dec. 15 until the end of the year, including the final leg and grand finals of the PBA 3x3 tournament.

Very nice to hear that they are now at home.

Once the fans will be allowed watching this live games, I'm pretty sure that players will love hearing the cheering of their fans.

It's been two long years since the pandemic hit our country, PBA bring the game with the bubble set up, the fan is not the same though,

maybe this is the start of more great news from PBA.

Looking forward to see and hear real crowds from the fans, but still safety protocols should highly practice.Wink

My interest is developed only after reading comments in this thread, I am sure its something exciting.

Don't know how many games will be played today but in the bookies, it only shows one, Batang Pier vs Road Warriors.

Against SMB Beermen I bet for NLEX +7.5 and I did win that match. McDaniel is a tested and tough import as well that is why I'm rooting for them that night and against Batang Pier, will be rooting for them once again hehe.

Road Warriors -4.5 @1.84 vs Batang Pier....

Congrats  Wink Another good catch they've got this in overtime, didn't watch the game and upon checking to PBA official there's no info about the recap I need to use flashscore to view the actual score, they've won in overtime with 5 points lead, not bad for you Kabayan, two wins in the row great start with PBA betting.

@bisdak40, That was PBA Governor's CUP, Bookies have rarely added these games. Only 2 games are settled yesterday (Northport vs Road Warriors)(San Miguel vs Alaska)
I think that Northport played really well but just fell short of The Road warriors. Was a really close game to be honest and also a fun game to watch. And by the way congratulations on winning the bet, nice decision btw. The final scoreline was Northport 115 - Road warriors 120.

Winding down.

There's a late closure for the ports and airports and that's why the virus got into us. I still remember watching the news of the very first covid19 case found in San Juan.
I've read about omicron that it only causes mild symptoms and I'm just hoping for the best that it will not really be dangerous. The same concern when the first news about the delta variant popped up. We're too worried but it tends to be mitigated already in our country. Well, just waiting for some good signs as IATF gives the entertainment that we all want through PBA.

We have overcome the more dangerous variant which is the Delta and I think we can't handle this Omicron also through vaccination. Reports have said that population vaccination in South Africa is not too good that is why it is spreading there quickly but that will not be the case here in our country because Filipinos are starting to embrace Covid-19 vaccines.

Excited to bet here for the games tomorrow but there are still no odds for those games, maybe tomorrow morning PH time they will place the odds.
With the recent news that I've watched, the boosters will be the ones to mitigate the risk that this Omicron variant is bringing. So maybe if IATF would be too loose on their restrictions, it's okay to allow audiences that are fully vaccinated.
That should suffice the requirement for them to allow people that are longing to watch some live basketball matches from their favorite teams. It's just a matter of decision for them and a few talks probably.
Indeed, good thing that the booster shots will work because these shots were created in the first place before omnicron variant was born. Another loss for SMB.

Not a good start for this heavyweight team in the PBA, they are now 0-2 officially and Alaska are looking good with an undefeated record. Looks like the decision of the management to trade the veterans was a bad move. what do you think?
