Will Ginebra be able to defend their title?
Likely. As usual with every conference, they're always at their best and likely to defend their titles and becomes the champ again.

A really crazy trade that BlackWater exchanges their active player on their prime to an aging and almost close to retirement player. A pure 100% farm team in the league. PBA business and politics. If that will always happen, the league might be under shadowed by other local leagues.

They even called that trade fair. I'm seeing Blackwater again with a win-less record next conference that even their import will give up right away carrying that team.
A no win record for them. Well, PBA itself is really a big business for these teams and I thought that there's going to be a big change for Blackwater after its owner paid a courtesy call for their staff but it's likely that this is still the main business of theirs.

Will the Blackwater would improve next conference?

This is a good news though. Amer-Casio pair impresses as Blackwater beats Meralco in tune-up... however it's just a tune up game, hopefully they'll do that in the actual game as last season they are winless IIRC.

They will always be a farm team no matter what they do or how they fare against some teams in a tune-up game. Casio is in the twilight of his career and he can't be relied on to lead a team to the quarterfinals at least. These farm teams are the ones that bring the PBA down but seem they are mum about it, maybe because of the amount of money involved, hope this will change in the near future.

facts! this team will continue to be like that a farm team that will always in the lowest part of the standing.

I just want to see them win. It's been a long time since they experienced that
win to the point that I'm tired of doing research to know when it was happened.

If they will continue to be like this, the interest in PBA is also affected by knowing
that the competitions when this team is competing is not valuable to
pay or just a waste of time.

This is one of the reason why many fans interest to watch PBA got turned of the turns of the events towards this since the advantage is always with the big companies and they always acquired the the rising big players in the league that's why we can't see the small teams rise up. If they continue to let this happen in PBA and they will not implement fairness also eliminate those farming system in the league for sure many people will not watch PBA and the players will fly overseas to try their fortune's there.

I'm not sure if they will change it, the system has been there for many years, so it's hard to take that out. If we like to see a more competitive league, then we should support other leagues where we believe that is more transparent and more competitive, and with that said, I think MPBL is the league that could at least compete a bit with the PBA.

Meanwhile, we have a fresh news,

Pingris decides not to play in MPBL

Quote
PHILIPPINE Basketball Association (PBA) legend Marc Pingris will no longer push through with his plans to come out of retirement at this time.

This system will not be change since those big companies have huge contribution to the league that's why they have huge advantage and we cannot expect them to became balance knowing that there are several farm team exist that's why for sure this current scenario in PBA will continue especially there commissioner doesn't care about huge trade which in favor always with SMB group.

Also its good to see Pingris will not push to play on MPBL he don't have anything to prove anymore he can be called legend for what contribution he have.

For farm teams like Blackwater, they just stayed in the league for purely business, aiming for the championship is not the objective. Tune-up games is not a gauge on how good your team is because some of the opposing players will not give their all.

News from less than 24 hours ago, Carl Bryan Cruz was traded by Blackwater to TNT in exchange for oldie Jay Washington. As i said, they will always be a farm team and purely business for them.

Well, this might boost the confidence of the players of Blackwater by a little bit after having a very disappointing All Filipino Cup.

Because this is just a tune up game, I'm not expecting too much from it because it might be that the players of Meralco didn't perform at their best performance when they played against Blackwater. Lets just see it in the 8th of December on how BW will play and I just hope that their losing streak will be over this season because it very embarrassing if you will ask me.

Yes it's very embarrassing but since this team is Blackwater, it's not surprising anymore, so they have to work hard to at least break that losing streak and maybe be ready for the new one, lol. All I can say is that I'm hoping there's no problem and they'll start the new conference according to the announced schedule as the timing is good, we will have a great month in December as the PBA is live again.

Their import is Jaylen Bond, looks like he has great numbers on the league that he is playing with before which is the Lega Serie A.
Look at this points average - https://www.basketball-reference.com/international/players/jaylen-bond-1.html
he could be one of the imports that we have to watch out as his numbers are telling me that he will be a good competitor among imports.

He’s a great player, but actually all imports are great since the team will not hire an ordinary import, they have to get the best since this is their chance to win. I still believe on a team play here, if the import is good and have a good team, you can really be the team to watch. Can’t wait for the governors cup to start, also excited to see those imports playing in our court.

We actually don’t know their plans, maybe a whole PBA team especially the team who will get the championship. EASL is not a major league so we might not see Gilas here.

Let's talk about that later.. what about the start of the PBA next conference? what teams do you think will likely dominate? This isn't the same last conference as imports are gonna participate in this game, so the shitty teams will probably improve especially if they have a good import to match Brownlee and other imports that are competitive enough.

Will Ginebra be able to defend their title?

Anyway, have you guys heard about PBA joining an Asian League? not sure though but I've seen one article regarding this one.

Will you share that article? How would they join? in what way?
I’ve read this one as well, its EASL not sure how they come one with the teams or GILAS will represent our country on that league. This is good for PBA and for the players, if we are able to join but let’s focus first on the up coming Governors cup, it will happen by next week and I’m so excited to see the teams again on court.
So it's not really the PBA joining the EASL as Gilas Pilipinas is not only composed of PBA players, they can get players from other leagues as well like NCAA. Gilas Pilipinas represents out country, so getting the best players are very important but it should not be in conflict with the PBA games schedule.
There’s no statement with regards to GILAS but for sure, team Philippines have to send the best players and its not just compose of PBA players, but also with players from other league. We actually don’t know their plans, maybe a whole PBA team especially the team who will get the championship. EASL is not a major league so we might not see Gilas here.

If there's a conflict maybe the Gilas will play, just like you said it's not all PBA stars who are representing gilas there are more young aspirant who can represent our country in an outside competition, the only thing is more of them are now playing separately with other outside leagues.

Let's focus on this upcoming PBA governor's cup instead. Grin it's all set and just waiting for the opening.

Yes PBA and other games as well are also starting their own to get everything back to normal, to everything what it's used to be. It's really fun and entertaining to watch PBA games live in-person even in MOA Arena. Let's just hope that this new strain of virus will not get us to go back in quarantine modes.
Hopefully not, there's been a lot of vaccination drives and they're very effective. Yesterday, the number of deaths and new cases weren't that much.
So I think there's hope for it, we just need to be patient and still follow all the minimum health protocols. And for sure, we're going to see the live audience back again.
It kinda alarming but I think the government should provide a mitigation procedure already to fight off this new variant. We don't know if there will be quarantine thing again but aren't we tired of it? I guess restrictions to people again is the only solution or be more extra vigilance especially on airports and ports coming in the country. I don't know if the variant already reaches here but they should be strict on that area if the government has plan to contain it. When we almost at the peak as I suppose to back the normal then this variant threat is at it again. I do love watching even just province basketball leagues but most of it aren't yet allowed.

They are making a solution to mitigate the risk of the virus entering in our country, and that is to ban tourist from other countries.

PH changes mind, stops entry of vaccinated tourists due to Omicron variant

Quote
MANILA, Philippines — The government has temporarily suspended a decision to allow the entry of fully vaccinated tourists in a bid to prevent a new, heavily mutated coronavirus variant from entering the country as most of the population remains unvaccinated.

I don't go much into details but this is the only solution to minimize the risk of getting infected from omicron virus. It's reported that the current vaccines out in the market are not so effective against this virus, so prevention is always the first option for now.

Most viewers have switched to MPBL and they also find it more entertaining especially if there are celebrity players who are showcasing their skills on the basketball ring. Manny Pacquiao always try his luck in all fields that he wants and he never stops until he succeeds which is really impressive.

I don't believe in that, you should show some proof to convince me.

PBA is still more popular than MPBL and I don't see MPBL is competing with PBA since the players of the PBA are way better than the MPBL players, and some PBA players are representing our countries in international competition.

Same here lol.

There are even talks months ago that they will defunct MPBL due to the lack of fundings because of the pandemic and we all knew the status of Manny, the commissioner of MPBL, he is so busy campaigning for the presidential election that is why I'm a little bit intrigued that despite all of that they are still continuing the league.
If he will not win in the Election, he might lose a lot of money, probably millions or billions because of the expenses in the campaign.
He is serious with his ambition to become a president, and since he is one of the richest, he will spend his money to make sure he will win.

Which channel can we see MPBL games?

You can watch the live games in  IBC-13.

Quote
Where to watch on TV
The league announced that select matches will be aired on IBC-13 during the elimination round from December 11 to 20. Two quarterfinal games and all the semifinal and final matches will also be aired by the government station.

The deal marks the return of basketball to IBC-13, which aired the PBA games during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

That's not good news. There is no doubt that Blackwater will remain as a team with no future and will consider as a practice team.

Unless they will try to market competitive players, that's the only time they will rise.

Their winless last conference is the continuation of their long losing streak on a previous conference. That's worst.
