If Brown is a good scorer, it will be harder for any team to play defense as most SMB stars are scorers.

The defense will collapse with both Romeo and Perez attacking, adding to that is the import whether he's a good shooter or an inside
game type of player.

Brandon Brown was listed with a height of 6'6 ft. With that height, he is already considered a big man in the league.

Playing with Fajardo or Manuel as a backup, SMB will have the most advantage over any of the team as no need for Brown to become a scoring machine as there are lots of options for SMB to score. SMB is again the favorite I believe to win the Governor's Cup title.

I hope some teams from below will now rise and emerge with the help of their import.

Thanks for that heads-up, considering that SMB also has Tau who can add the pain to their opponent inside.

We don't know which team from the lower class will step up this upcoming governor's cup. Maybe there's a surprise that will take place with the help of the import; the ball is round and if the chemistry works well, we never know if something great for the other team will take place.

More competitive game and not just those usual franchise to dominate will add more fun to this league. Wink Tongue

SMB's import is Brandon Brown, based on my research, he already played in the PBA last 2017 but on another team. Not sure how good he is but he is playing under one of the best teams in the PBA, so he will probably get better or will be replaced soon if he will not provide as expected.

This season, I'm very much interested in how imports will battle against each other as I've never seen imports for years already due to covid-19.

I'm sure everyone is excited to watch the opening games.

2 Years had gone so fast, I'm excited to see how those trades will work out for the Beermen, They will be tested as even TNT won the last All Filipino cup it's mostly SMB get the favorite, If Fajardo will be playing in his good shape the import will be playing more on their offense, I'm not also familiar with Brandon Brown hopefully he's fit with the way coach Leo set up his game play.

If Brown is a good scorer, it will be harder for any team to play defense as most SMB stars are scorers.

Exactly, but my strategy is very simple, I would bet on the underdog team since it's too early to determine which team is better. Since it mostly depends on the performance of the import, then even a weak team would be better with a good import, it's a gamble but I will certainly like the odds.

If you have that nerve to risk your money for the underdog, once you win the odds is very decent.

I'm not sure but there are lots of cases where underdog beat the favorite, the very reason why there's rumors that fixed  games

are present inside this league. I'll be going to watch the game first I'll pass for this 2 games, I want to observe if which team have

that good competitive edge then follow those remaining games.  Wink

Yes PBA and other games as well are also starting their own to get everything back to normal, to everything what it's used to be. It's really fun and entertaining to watch PBA games live in-person even in MOA Arena. Let's just hope that this new strain of virus will not get us to go back in quarantine modes.
Hopefully not, there's been a lot of vaccination drives and they're very effective. Yesterday, the number of deaths and new cases weren't that much.
So I think there's hope for it, we just need to be patient and still follow all the minimum health protocols. And for sure, we're going to see the live audience back again.
It kinda alarming but I think the government should provide a mitigation procedure already to fight off this new variant. We don't know if there will be quarantine thing again but aren't we tired of it? I guess restrictions to people again is the only solution or be more extra vigilance especially on airports and ports coming in the country. I don't know if the variant already reaches here but they should be strict on that area if the government has plan to contain it. When we almost at the peak as I suppose to back the normal then this variant threat is at it again. I do love watching even just province basketball leagues but most of it aren't yet allowed.
As of now, there are no omnicron variant cases that have been reported in PH.
Hopefully, it will stay that way, as one case reported of Omicron virus may mean a lot has been infected already since PH health workers are not so active in detecting early virus spread.

I don't think that the government have that sort of plan to mitigate this virus because currently, PH is the top borrower of money yet last in the pandemic response, hopefully this variant won't scatter and the booster shots would be enough for the people to enjoy the said games and watch it live.
As of the city and provincial games in some rural to urban areas are still tight, only limited people are allowed to watch in-person if you have a vax cert.

Their only way to mitigate it is through prevention, such as lockdowns and etc, and with that, it's another struggle of our economy as this virus is a serious threat based on how other countries impose their measures against the omicron virus.

Anyway, don't forget that the game will be this coming December 8,... 2 days to go.

The Schedule of games is already out. Venue is at Ynares Arena- Pasig City, no MOA yet. Smiley

We have 2 games for the opening day, which would be this coming Wednesday, better get your bankroll ready as the new conference will start soon.

https://www.pba.ph/schedule

Finally! This week will be a great one, its good to see them again and hopefully live audience become more possible. Getting ready for some bets after analyzing on the team and players, looks like the crowd favorite here are those top teams. Let’s see if NLEX will be a good team as well on this governors cup.

SMB will be the favorites in the late game, not sure about the Alaska vs Northport game. I will maybe just put my bet live as I have no idea yet how these imports will play, live betting for me gives a clear picture when I'm not yet confident with the team's import.

We will find out the betting odds by tomorrow evening since the odds are usually available a day before the game. I know this season the imports will be more highlighted but I also like to see some local players improving their stats especially Fajardo who has not come back to his old self yet. I believe it's the show for the imports and big man in the PBA, so names like JMF, Slaughter, Japeth, and C. Stand will probably shine.

Will Ginebra be able to defend their title?
Likely. As usual with every conference, they're always at their best and likely to defend their titles and becomes the champ again.

I'm not sure about that, Mikey Williams has been playing terrific basketball, so with him and the import, I guess TNT is still the team to beat this conference. Of course, Brownlee is special but a lot has changed already and I hope Ginebra will find a good opponent that will give them a real challenge.
I also hope so. It's like from time to time every conference they're like that. So with the imports, it will really increase the chance of winning for the other teams.
And that's why some of us are very optimistic with the other teams that have taken a good import. But we'll know about that very soon. What's more important right now for the fans, will the IATF allow it with live audience fans? Any update?

Ginebra is also one of the premier teams this coming governors cup, with Brownlee if he still have that same leadership the team will have a good chance

competing and trying to chase the title.. Though you said it right, Williams with the Import also have that same capabilities especially once he jive well with

their import, both will be the main threat to every opposing team, and with that deep backups TNT can continue and chase for another title.

If the import of TNT is good enough defensively, I think it's already enough for them to win as TNT has a lot of shooters. Brownlee may look like the best import but that was years back, we might see some surprises now from the new imports and hopefully, they'll bring more excitement to see this conference a more interesting one.

McKenzie Moore is their import, I have not seen him play in the PBA yet, let's see what he can bring to the team.

I saw a picture about the schedule of the PBA games, and I see that the Ginebra vs Alaska will play this coming December 12. That will be next Sunday and we will see a battle of two imports Brownlee vs Mike Harris. I believe Harris already won a best import award before, so who do you think is the better import?
They both have the same good records and for me its not just about who is the best import but more importantly its about playing their best and help their team win on the whole competition, individual stats will only matter at the end of this league and I’m sure those imports are focus on that and not on their individual status. Ginebra have a better chance here to win if they play as a team.

Ginebra always play as a team, especially with Brownlee who already are familiar with this teammates, my concern is Mike Harris whom I believe is the first time to play with Alaska if I'm not mistaken, or if he played with Alaska before, then it still looks new as Alaska has changed their coach and some of their players.

A really crazy trade that BlackWater exchanges their active player on their prime to an aging and almost close to retirement player. A pure 100% farm team in the league. PBA business and politics. If that will always happen, the league might be under shadowed by other local leagues.

They even called that trade fair. I'm seeing Blackwater again with a win-less record next conference that even their import will give up right away carrying that team.
SMB did some uneven trades in the past and so with Ginebra and Magnolia. Same goes for TNT. You see the pattern right.
SMC and MVP are doing uneven trades and they are saying that it is a fair trade. Pure bullsh*t and pure business and its obvious that this league is an SMC vs. MVP rivalry for years or maybe decades already.

How then can call an aging veteran being traded for a not too young-not too old though player like CBC. Maybe they are saying that it is a fair since it includes 2 second round picks. 2 second round picks? Is there an assurance that they will sign those second round picks Cheesy. This is the reason why PBA is getting boring and boring as years goes by and this is also the reason why we want those talented PBA players to play outside PH. Like you said, PBA prefers business rather than competitiveness. They've ruined the league. They've ruined the competitiveness of the league and these independent teams are just becoming farm teams of SMC and MVP.
