Everything is arranged per report, we just have to wait for the announcement of the final date of return.

As per recent reports, teams are just waiting for the finalization of their hotel accommodation. That shouldn't be supposed to approved for long.

Aside from waiting for the final date of PBA comeback, let's also hope that the numbers of additional cases in Pampanga is just light so that it will not end up as a reason for another delays.

Time flies so fast. It's been 18 days since the last PBA games. It's like it just happened last week. Cheesy

The reports say that teams will cover their expenses in hotels and daily spendings of their players and staffs. They are all agreed with it.

It means PBA's budget is really alarming that they ask teams to do it. I agree that they can wait for ECQ to be lifted instead but they choose to spend more outside.

We should thank them for that as they are just thinking of bringing the entertainment to the fans. I'm sure team owners have enough money to cover the expenses and everyone will participate, if they can't, there's always the SMB teams and TNT who can help the other teams that are struggling financially.

Everything is arranged per report, we just have to wait for the announcement of the final date of return.

Indeed, SMB and TNT are far more capable if, in case other teams need help, it's part of initiatives from team captains to bring back the game to fans as they agree with their participation shouldering their own expenses.

As per report, the game is nearing and we will see our favorite team and players to compete and bring the entertainment that we are aiming to witness, for sure many of us are really waiting for the odd to open back so we can start betting with our favorites.

Almost, and we will start picking our bets, so start budgeting now for our capital..Good Luck!

New update regarding the return of the PBA.

PBA teams finalize hotel bookings, await go-signal from Pampanga gov

Quote
THE PBA is waiting for teams to finalize accommodation arrangements before resuming the 2021 Philippine Cup, most likely in Pampanga.

PBA deputy commissioner Eric Castro said they will coordinate with Pampanga governor Dennis Pineda the planned semi-bubble tournament once the accommodations of the 12 teams have been finalized.

“As of now, we are waiting for teams to complete their certificates of acceptance from hotels/accommodations where they will stay. Then, will submit [these] to the office of Gov. Pineda,” said Castro.

Good update, this only means that we will soon see our beloved league in the Philippines, and they might make their time frame of return this month.

With Governor Pineda as an avid fan of basketball, i'm sure that he is also excited that the PBA will be held in his province and will give the nod to PBA to start, adhering to IAFT protocol of course.

The news that the teams will shoulder their own expenses shock me a bit because i never thought that the PBA will be out of budget since majority of the teams in the league are rich  Smiley.

I'm just hoping that covid cases in Pampanga won't rise and the province reverted to ECQ status just like in the NCR because in our place the covid cases is rising even though we are in MECQ.

Surprising indeed, but it's okay since those players contracts are still huge and they are capable of paying everything,

The league will proceed just a matter of time before the final announcement in resuming all the pending games, glad that Gov. Pineda allows this
sport to facilitate even it's in a semi bubble set up, better than nothing I guess.

Lets hope that covid cases will not increase to this province to make sure that the season will be finished without any interruption anymore.

No matter how rich the teams' owners are, they still need to follow the budget at that is business and they can't operate the business in a losing manner. The fact that they still resume the PBA, that means their income is still bigger than the expenses, and that means they are surviving as a business.

IMO, they are already in shape because the conference has already started, what's going to happen is that they will just transfer to a new location. This venue is not new to them as they already played here in the first bubble where BGSM has become the champion.

Meanwhile, since SMB is full of stars, I hope this is true because it could affect CJ's ego not to be part of the starting line up.

yeah right, there's no problem with the shape my bad by interpreting that players and teams need some time to practice, but thanks for noticing that, hopefully we would see them in action again.

If the league will return on 29th, what's the sense of transferring the venue right with the extra hassle? Metro Manila ECQ might extend but for a possible date, maybe until the end of the month. And besides, they are already doing a semi-bubble here in the Metro Manila venue. Well, that was their decision.

Complying with provinces protocol really takes time so maybe that's the reason for the change of date. Another reason maybe is, lack of hotel options in Pampanga as maybe some are used as rehabilitation centers for quarantine or temporarily halt their operation.
This ECQ might extend or needs to extend as the numbers of new cases is really booming, no way that they can go back much earlier
inside metro.

Whatever concern that they still handling right now, this is the only option to continue and finished this season.

The issue is not getting in shape as they previously stated they will come back in 21 IIRC, but later announce that the return is delayed but there's no specific date yet. There must be a little problem in protocol or restrictions but I'm confident they'll be able to sort it out soon.

Speaking about the return of the PBA.

Here's the latest news ;

PBA to resume season on Aug. 29 on initiative of players: source

Quote
PBA players are eager to return to action and are pitching in as the league faces a more expensive “semi-bubble” setup in Pampanga, possibly starting on Aug. 29.

Sources told Spin.ph that the team captains led by Ginebra superstar LA Tenorio have agreed to take care of some of the expenses so that the league can resume play at Clark.

The PBA has put Philippine Cup games on hold while NCR is under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

Tenorio met with fellow team captains two weeks ago and have agreed to help their ballclubs with the cost of playing in a “semi-bubble” setup.

As previously reported, it's a semi-bubble setup, and might also see the return this month, just a week delayed from the first reported date
Something that players need to carry to help the franchise and to keep the league in good shape, this pandemic hits them up and
without these initiatives, delayed might happen.

Thanks to all team captains, as they agreed together to make things happened and to let the ball rolling again, another week of delays
is better than nothing at all.

Give the players some time to complete those practices and to make them in shape when the resume takes place.

The last time I know, PBA would be back on August 22 in Pampanga. Is there a new development on this?

Checking the most updated Facebook pages like PBA Official  Spin.ph, Smart Sports, PBA Rush, PBA site news portal, there's no recent update yet about how's the progress of the league switching venue to Pampanga.

Still a week to go so surely, we should expect an update, at least, next week probably 2-3 days before the conference restarts.

The date of return was delayed according to the latest news, so most probably they are not sure when they will return and I'm just hoping for an update this month so we will not anymore wait with empty information like what happened in the past. The start of the PBA season was already good, but they need to comply with the IATF rules, otherwise, the risk of getting suspended is high.

I hope Fajardo will not be affected a loss from the loss of his mother, and you are right, hopefully, he will use it as his inspiration to play harder and get back to his MVP shape the soonest possible time. With this delay, it's again very helping the teams with players that are suffering from injury, it was previously reported it will be back this month but now the status is postponed, so we can expect next month I think.

For sure Junemar is very affected by this event but one thing I like about him is that he is very professional on the court so he will play hard as if nothing has happened. I wonder how the passing of Junemar's mother could affect other players or PBA staff as they will now realize that covid is really here and no amount of money could save them if they have the virus.

James Yap won't be traded with the Rain or Shine if he still meets the expectation of the team. Paul Lee is younger, and for sure he can still achieve more success than James Yap, and I think anytime soon, James Yap will retire but we will never forget him as he is Mr. Big Shot in the PBA.

I think he is still active now with ROS, but he only played limited minutes, probably because the team sees he can't be effective anymore when getting a lot of minutes like he used to in the past.

Meeting expectations? or something that related with her former wife?

or most of all because money matter? Good contract deal that will secure his future.

I don't see that point he still on his prime when the trade happened, they still a championship contender with Simon and Pingris,
and very fresh from achieving the grand slam right? Whatever it is or any reason behind, both teams agree together with the players,
and now it's a new book for both players.

I think his production has gone down, so the team has no choice but to trade him.

Yes, both teams agree that's why we can assume that they believe the player they will get will fit the team.
Look, where is James Yap now, he is barely playing with the ROS while Paul Lee is the main man of the team.

https://www.thenewsbite.com/2016/10/star-hotshots-james-yap-traded-to-ros.html

This is going back in the past and talking about the blockbuster trade.

I think the coach of ROS that time is already Caloy Garcia, and here's a very important news that says how important Paul Lee is to the ROS.

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/yeng-guiao-wouldn-t-have-made-paul-lee-for-james-yap-trade-a2437-20200824

Quote
If he was still ROS coach, Guiao wouldn't have approved Lee-Yap trade

See that, Paul Lee was their star player back when Guiao was still coaching this team and they have some good success, so why trade Paul Lee.
I don't know about James Yap performance that time but I think he is already getting old and probably suffering from injuries.

Meanwhile, JMF is now grieving the death of his mother, probably we will not see him return soon.

As part of the country's protocol, the funeral should just take up to 2-3 days.

He can still be with the team when the league returns on 21st. And I think he will be more motivated to play rather than to sit in the corner. He is super close to his mother so he won't show any signs of just sitting in the corner and mourns as for sure, his mother won't like that.

Back in the league, PBA teams told to prepare for possible bubble anew. I wonder why they used the word "possible" meaning there is no 100% plan for now? Anyways, reading the article, there's no mentioned date unlike in the previous news that the return will be on August 21st.

I hope Fajardo will not be affected a loss from the loss of his mother, and you are right, hopefully, he will use it as his inspiration to play harder and get back to his MVP shape the soonest possible time. Here we are again, the word delay could mean next month or next year, we don't know now where they will resume as they did not gave any estimated timeline. NBA is over, so we really need the PBA to resume again so the betting will resume, for now, I'm really bored as I don't like betting on NBA preseason too.
