Winding down.
August 13, 2021, 01:29:48 AM
Meanwhile, JMF is now grieving the death of his mother, probably we will not see him return soon.

As part of the country's protocol, the funeral should just take up to 2-3 days.

He can still be with the team when the league returns on 21st. And I think he will be more motivated to play rather than to sit in the corner. He is super close to his mother so he won't show any signs of just sitting in the corner and mourns as for sure, his mother won't like that.

Back in the league, PBA teams told to prepare for possible bubble anew. I wonder why they used the word "possible" meaning there is no 100% plan for now? Anyways, reading the article, there's no mentioned date unlike in the previous news that the return will be on August 21st.

I hope Fajardo will not be affected a loss from the loss of his mother, and you are right, hopefully, he will use it as his inspiration to play harder and get back to his MVP shape the soonest possible time. With this delay, it's again very helping the teams with players that are suffering from injury, it was previously reported it will be back this month but now the status is postponed, so we can expect next month I think.

But as you can read, the venue will still be in Pampanga.

Aww! Something that really going to bother him in case he'll try to work on it, but since it will be another bubble setup for sure, San Miguel will allow him to take the rest,

It's really a saddened lost since her mom is his number one fan. All the emotions will be there for JMF, knowing his close relationship with her.

Prayers and condolences to him and for the rest of the family. Hope for him to stay strong and not to fall with this passing of her mother.

PBA will setback to return on Pampanga. The news is circulating for several days now but the PBA site is not showing any news about it.

https://www.pba.ph/news

No news about some fresh progress right? It's about 9 days from now and the PBA will resume again. I think that will be the final venue and they will not return on Manila, as the conference is almost on its 50% progress.

It will be delayed according to the news.

With that, it's now San Miguel teams dominating again the All-Filipino Conference. Outside San Miguel, there's Meralco and TNT that I followed. With their lineup, I think they can at least a good close game at these big San Miguel teams.

Who's cheering here for teams that are not under the San Miguel Corporation?

I don't think they will again dominate, other teams have also improved and I think Ginebra and Magnolia will somehow give SMB a good challenge this conference. As per standing, Magnolia is currently dominating, followed by TNT, so it could be an unpredictable season.

You got my statement wrong bud. I said San Miguel teams, not the team San Miguel Beermen. Ginebra and Magnolia are part of the San Miguel teams. Smiley

I'm hoping at least TNT will shine at this conference. They always have a good record but lacking short in playoffs.

Not being Bias but SMB with all the healthy stars are showing back to their shapes, that's really a team to beat. Then here comes Magnolia with the addition of  Abueva they are also perfoming well and now residing at the top,

It happened all of a sudden and no one has expected that there's going to be an ECQ and the nearby provinces are also going to be part of it as we're in a bubble plus.
The PBA officials, if they're decided to put that back in Pampanga then that's much better as they've got a lot of choices so that they can continue the league even if there's a hindrance due to the implementation of the ECQ.

They are already granted, so the final venue is Pampanga.

PBA granted IATF nod for GCQ play, eyes Pampanga return for PH Cup

Quote
The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has allowed the resumption of the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup on Friday, August 6, with the condition that the league will only play in areas under a standard general community quarantine (GCQ) or lower.

There's no more hindrance, we will eventually see the resumption of the PBA anytime soon.
Great for the PBA. We're now going to see them again back in action. And they'll just probably be back again in the coliseum if the ECQ is lifted again.

I'm not being pessimistic but I do hope that the COVID situation in our country improves during that time so that their plan will realize.

Here in our place, the quarantine status was reverted to MECQ because of the rising cases but as far as I can see, it worsens because the authorities have not implemented the protocols for MECQ like suspending the public transport so there is a high chance that we will be going to ECQ after this week and that's what I'm hoping will not happen to Pampanga.
It is what everyone is wanting to see. We all want to see how our country defeats covid19 and we will now have a better situation. It's been a year and probably going two if things didn't do good.  Undecided
This really has changed our lives, good for those that made their lives positive despite the bad situation. But most of us didn't have a good stand during this pandemic.

While BGSM still under the radar they are not starting that well, but knowing this crowd favorite, still too early to conclude.

After eliminations, we will only see if their chemistry is now on a strong foundation. Actually, I don't mind their chemistry since it's just Standhardinger that only added to their main lineup. For at least 5-6 games, they will know each other's play.

But still eyeing for a non-SMC team to reach the championship. Rooting for Phoenix before but only if they didn't give up Abueva. Now looking forward to TNT's journey and if their rookie will explode this conference.

Plenty of time before they will resume, no more speculation as PBA has already announced their schedule of conference resumption, and hopefully, there will be no more disruption after they will resume.

By the way, Reyes seemed to be doing a great job with the TNT.

https://pba.ph/news/reyes-sees-unbeaten-tnt-still-a-long-way-to-go

With this semi bubble setup PBA will resume without any interruptions, we will see more actions after that date good enough to continue our betting activities. They just need to let each teams to set up practices before the league will go ahead and resume all the games.

With that TNT stats, we know how good Reyes was and how close he used with Manny Pangilinan, full support are in his back now and TNT will come up performing to their best once again.

Castro leading this team with the coach he always love to have, this will bring them as good contender for this season's title.

I don't want to conclude yet, maybe after they will win against a strong team like the SMB, BGSM, and Magnolia. If they will beat at least one of the teams I mentioned, then probably I will agree with the conclusion that TNT will have a good season under coach Chot Reyes.

Got a good point they still have to passed those 3 superteams, beating them adds to their accomplishments.

We have an update about PBA resumption, they'll resume this month at Pampanga.

Did they anticipate or think that ECQ might be extended in Manila? Since they chose August 22 wherein Manila's ECQ will last until August 20.

Or maybe for some teams to have more time to practice since it's not possible to do it, for now, in Manila. Well then, at least they have a plan set on stones now and for the remaining days, they will work on where players and staff will stay.

That was a good development.

James Yap won't be traded with the Rain or Shine if he still meets the expectation of the team. Paul Lee is younger, and for sure he can still achieve more success than James Yap, and I think anytime soon, James Yap will retire but we will never forget him as he is Mr. Big Shot in the PBA.

I think he is still active now with ROS, but he only played limited minutes, probably because the team sees he can't be effective anymore when getting a lot of minutes like he used to in the past.

Meeting expectations? or something that related with her former wife?

or most of all because money matter? Good contract deal that will secure his future.

I don't see that point he still on his prime when the trade happened, they still a championship contender with Simon and Pingris,
and very fresh from achieving the grand slam right? Whatever it is or any reason behind, both teams agree together with the players,
and now it's a new book for both players.

PBA granted IATF nod for GCQ play, eyes Pampanga return for PH Cup

Reading the article, Pampanga is not the final venue but rather a choice. There's still no response from the Pampanga LGU so maybe there will be a change.

But I agree to post above. The process of transferring the venue to the province might take up several days and maybe once it finalized, there are only a few days left for Manila to shift into other restrictions. They can push the province venue but they should finish it there. I'm sure Manila ECQ won' be extended so they can just wait for it as making a semi-bubble setup on the province takes time. Roughly a day has passed, there's still no answer from the LGU there (the article was posted on August 6. 2 days with no update).

Well then, whatever their decision, their followers are just stand-by. The temporary break will somehow help those players who are still struggling with the bubble phase and for those with injuries.

There's no decision for the final venue yet but more importantly, IATF allowed them to resumed on GCQ and MGCQ areas.

The ECQ will only last until the 20th. I don't see why PBA should give another effort to continue on the province. It's just over a week more then PBA will again resume at their usual arena. No hassle, no extra cost, no need to comply again with new protocols on the province and so. If they will start to pack up and fix everything, it might take almost a week or 3-4 days at least a minimum. Only a few days more and ECQ will be lifted here.
I've heard that it's going to be in Batangas for which the news before that someone posted a banner that they're welcoming PBA. But that was long time ago.
Yeah, there's no announcement yet. I understand that they have to cope up with such schedule and such delays might affect the entire schedule of the league and that's probably why they're pushing to find a venue even if this ECQ is just two weeks.

I have read in the news that the venue now that they seriously consider is Pampanga is it is MGCQ there.

wherever they will holding the bubble, I'm just glad that they are considering the resumption of PBA. Too much bad news these days and news like this will at least give some relief to people who are just staying at home since it's ECQ in some parts of the country.

PBA in Pampanga
Now, the PBA hierarchy is considering other provinces to host its game, including Pampanga, which hosted the Philippine Cup last year under a full bubble setup.

Pampanga is currently under MGCQ.
