Phoenix surprised us today betting the NLEX by 35 points, the final score was 77-112 and they defended Bollick very well allowing him to only score by 11 points. This team really has some great talent on their line up, it's already in the All Filipino cup, no import and yet they are still having some kind of dominating game like this.
NLEX relied too much on their 3 point shooting, when they have a bad shooting night, this is what happened.
NLEX had 50 attempts and 11 of these went in, that's a very low precentage. And since their total attempts is 88, that means they focus so much on the 3 point area which is a very bad strategy.
They managed to limit Bollick and with that NLEX struggles the spark plug didn't work and they've got left behind losing with that huge deficits, seems that they don't have alternative plans when Phoenix anticipate where the offense will begin they just give everything to make sure that there's no spark that will lead to any rally till the end of the game, congrats to all those who bets for Phoenix!
Wow ,Magnolia continue their winning streak, they beat the Rain or shine tonight and the good news is Sanggalang is starting to show his star player performance. Their past game vs Phoenix when they also won, he scored 23 points and tonight he scored 25 points. I like when a big man of Magnolia is playing great basketball like this because they become more unpredictable. The defense is still their, so as long as the game is close, they have an advantage in the 4th quarter because of their hassle on the floor.
Winners today.
Phoenix and Magnolia. As to the current standing (
https://pba.ph/standings), Magnolia is already at the top 3.
Ian is a well-known scorer even wayback in his college days, he can provide numbers when he's healthy and now that he's back in form and the rotation is now includes him, both Abueva and Sanggalang when they start fueling the team it will create spark and most probably they will bring decent competitions.
