PBA already spends money for these travels, inspections, safety protocols, testing kits, and other miscellaneous spendings.

We can have an assurance that their meeting with the IATF a few weeks ago is a success so PBA is now continuing its roadmap. They won't execute these plans like stating the date of the practice if they were told in the meeting that PBA won't be allowed to operate at least a few months from now.

Seems this is it.
Training of all teams seen rolling by May 20

Quote
BY Thursday, PBA teams may all be done with their first RT-PCR tests and, barring hitches, would be allowed by May 20 to start preparations for the eyed Season 46 mid-June kickoff.

The Meralco Bolts were the first to undertake their swab test and could hit the road for their planned 10-day bubble training camp in Laoag, Ilocos Norte as early as May 15.

After this training, we can expect an announcement on when the PBA will start its season.
I'm so excited, everything seems to be going according to their plan, hopefully it will not be ruin.
Nice, so they already have plans on how they're going to camp and train for each team. It would be better if they've been allowed to train to the bubble setup and the court that will be used already so that they won't travel from time to time if they're done with the said training.
But, if they're already on the rollout for each training then this is really going to sort it out that we only need to wait by the month of June and we're going to watch again the games happen.  Cool

That's really great knowing that the first step is already here, after that RT-PCR and players and teams are allowed to take their practices.

for sure the soonest we will see or hear announcement coming from the PBA governors regarding with the  dates that they comes up after those

Thanks for sharing this very important information @Hypnosis00.

As the training will start, there should be no more doubt that the PBA season will start next month.
This is a contact training, which means the same set up when they are playing an actual game, and this would not be approved if there's no measure in place for this, so there's no need to worry, let's just remain optimistic and we will eventually a new season getting started next month.

news related to practice.

I will leak some information here lol.

Have been in Batangas last weekend (1-day stopover at our friend's house before going to Quezon province for an outing), and they are just nearby Batangas City Coliseum. There's a small tarpaulin there stating "PBA coming soon". For just everyone's information, Batangas City Coliseum is one of the choices for the bubble setup. I just don't know if that notice is telling us that the venue will be there (as it's just "coming soon"). Unfortunately, didn't have a chance to take a picture of it as we are just passing by on that time going to market. This can be verified if there are guys here located nearby on the said coliseum.
Thanks for sharing that experience and information. Well, if the barangay of Batangas city was the one to put that tarpaulin then that means that's a hint that they've already talked about the venue as the next court which will be the setup for the bubble will happen. Maybe if someone who's near to the Batangas City Coliseum can give us some updates or what are the hearsay or actual news about it then that would be better additional information that we're going to hear from them.

Good news for everyone, that's a clear hint already, we can expect that PBA will really return soon. Seems like the statement of one of the officials of the PBA is accurate, they will open the season next month and that is what we should watch out for. I hope we will hear the news soon that they have already started playing.
Waiting again for some official statement towards that tarpaulin. It could also be a form of excitement and the barangay officials probably are too excited and just printed it as they've heard some rumors that the bubble set up will be made on their gym.
We will hear the good news very soon until they've finalized everything. And it seems that with the go signal from the IATF and the good situation that we're having against the fight of covid-19, it's just a matter of time that they'll start soon.

I read this post and I remember that there are also teams that will be training in Ilocos Norte. We are very near in Ilocos Norte but the restrictions here are very strict and when you go to other places, there is a time limit on how long will you stay on that place. I would want to see NLEX and Meralco on Ilocos Norte at least but.. yeah I think that it would be better to just wait and watch them when this pandemic is over.

Actually, people believe in the virus, however, they just treat it like a serious one as they have no choice, the poverty rate in the Philippines is high, people need to go out and work, the advice of the DOH is to stay at home, avoid social distancing, I think we can't strictly follow that as the most important for us is to work in order to make money to feed our family. Even the government has once lifted the lockdown because the economy will not survive if they will continue with the measure.
I agree with this. People in our country are in a so-called rat-race. People are struggling just to have some money to be used in their daily lives. Because of this, the government lifted the lockdown. They can't afford to stay like what they did in the first 2 months of the pandemic for a longer time. This might be off-topic but the poverty rate of our country will be lessen if people just know how to manage their money properly. If they just have a bit of financial literacy then their lives might be better than what they are right now.

Its been more than 1 year since this pandemic has started. There are many people who have been affected (159,593,978 as of today) and many have died (3,317,344).
With these numbers, many are still don't believing that this virus is still spreading worldwide. I don't know why they aren't believing on it. Its good that a person like him is sharing his experience and he might attract some people and will believe on it. Some people really believe in some conspira-shits right Cheesy.

Well, maybe there are some who are believing it but since the recovery rate is high (around 86%) then they aren't afraid if they have been caught by this virus.
That's just a sad thing that despite all of the death cases and those people who have shared their covid infection experience, there are still those kababayans that don't believe it exists. They don't believe and says that it's just the normal flu and they can overcome it even it goes unto them.
We cannot tolerate them if they're influencing us or our loved ones who are gullible to those words but thanks to Joe and the others who didn't fear sharing what they've experienced. As long as he's about to recover and the rest of those infected too, we're going to see some light with it and hopefully the unbelievers will be lessened.

I didn't know that Joe Devance got covid-19. He has shared how it's hard to fight the battle. I hope that other players would take care of themselves and learn from his experience.

Some people do not share their experience as they don't want to be judge, good thing Devance is open and just trying to help people by sharing his experience, but I guess he is okay now, so he can start training once the PBA training will start.
Yes. He's already in recovery and this is a wake-up call for those people that still don't believe that the virus doesn't really exist or believes in those conspiracies.
I hope that other players won't have it so that there would be no more sad stories like this.

The case of Joe Devance having been hit by COVID-19 is intriguing as i thought all this time that if you are healthy, you are safe from this virus. I mean if you can have it but your body can handle it and you will only feel the mild symptoms of this virus and not be critical.

Have read about NBA players having covid but all of them have only mild or no symptoms at all.

Eye opener for us and we should not let our guards down as anything can happen if we are hit by this virus.

Awareness matters, cause even you are actively doing your routine and you have all the vitamins that you need once covid hits you then it's  a tough battler recovering from this virus.

DeVance experienced serves a good wake up call to all the people who still believes that this is just a hypes that government use to scared the people, it's for real and no one can escape from this virus if you'll not going to take care of youself.

For all the players, they should be more careful a even healthy co-players got been triggered and now in it's recovering stage, keep safe and be aware in anything around you.

Some players lack education and think that they can handle the virus, but here, we can feel what Devance felt based on what he shared, and we can also realize that covid-19 does not choose whether you are young and healthy. The vaccine is definitely what they are preparing for now as they don't want this to happen during the return, it will ruin everything and it also means a waste of money, time, and effort.

Austria not putting undue pressure on CJ Perez as SMB grand slam talk resurfaces

This is enough assurance that CJ Perez will not play as he use to in his previous team, and he can play with ease here while trying to create some good chemistry with his teammates. I don't know if he is a starter, but hopefully, he is because they need some energy in the starting game.

It's a big break by CJ Perez, once he will win his first championship with the SMB, the rest will just follow, but of course, credit to the whole team, not only him as that's how they play.
CJ Perez is a good addition to SMB, there might be no pressure but many expected him to deliver his he has been traded to help SMB achieved its goal to place on top. He should help the team on the absence of Fajardo since he's not fully recovered and he might have a minimum time limit at the court, if they won of course its the effort of the team that counts and not just the star players.

Hopefully he also achieved what TR7 accompalished after moving to SMB, not just a title but also finals MVP, knowing CJ and the type
of his game play, he'll surely excel.

Good timing as SMB needs player who can bring them energy, additional boost and hassle plays.

We expect more not just from CJ ad the SMB but also other teams who acquires and trades players, we can say that we might see
more good rotations and more entertaining showcasings of talents.

I think it was already planned, CJ was signed by Terrafirma and use this team as a training ground, he did well, he pass the final stage and that is the acquisition of him by the SMB. There's a rumor that weak teams are use as a farm team, it looks real to me.
