Austria not putting undue pressure on CJ Perez as SMB grand slam talk resurfaces

This is enough assurance that CJ Perez will not play as he use to in his previous team, and he can play with ease here while trying to create some good chemistry with his teammates. I don't know if he is a starter, but hopefully, he is because they need some energy in the starting game.

It's a big break by CJ Perez, once he will win his first championship with the SMB, the rest will just follow, but of course, credit to the whole team, not only him as that's how they play.
CJ Perez is a good addition to SMB, there might be no pressure but many expected him to deliver his he has been traded to help SMB achieved its goal to place on top. He should help the team on the absence of Fajardo since he's not fully recovered and he might have a minimum time limit at the court, if they won of course its the effort of the team that counts and not just the star players.

Hopefully he also achieved what TR7 accompalished after moving to SMB, not just a title but also finals MVP, knowing CJ and the type
of his game play, he'll surely excel.

Good timing as SMB needs player who can bring them energy, additional boost and hassle plays.

We expect more not just from CJ ad the SMB but also other teams who acquires and trades players, we can say that we might see
more good rotations and more entertaining showcasings of talents.

Jalalon is a game-changer, his energy on the floor is really outstanding, and since Magnolia is a defensive team, they need someone like Jalalon who plays with good hustle in the team. Paul Lee is aging too, I doubt Phoenix will allow their main exchange to be traded with Paul which is also having some injury problems lately.
Well, if Wright demanded for it because he really wants too then it would be better if they will just give it to him (trade) instead of just playing in the same team that he doesn't want to play with anymore.
If this is the case then it would be better for Wright to just leave the league and go to another one. If he will be happy on that one then better. If Phoenix doesn't want to trade with Magnolia then better if they will find another team that would want to trade with them. Many teams will have an interest on him for sure.

One example is Banchero, he was so good with the Alaska Aces but when he played with the Hotspots, he wasn't as effective as he was with Alaska.

Agree with you, he was the star player of Alaska but he was not effective with the magnolia. There are some players that fit in a certain team but does not in the other team, so Wright has to be also careful with this, he already earn his star status with his current team, so there's no need to transfer if he has the option to choose. Having Manuel is already a big gift, that should help them in their hope to be in the PBA Finals and win.
Banchero has been in a team which is fully loaded of guards so what do we expect from him. Unlike in Alaska where there aren't that much guards, Magnolia has many guards that is why his playing time is reduced therefore his performance is also affected. Personally, I don't like Wright being traded to other teams since Phoenix is already a strong team but if he doesn't happy anymore with the team then better to just find another team or find another league.

I just like to share this.

Joe Devance shares battle with COVID-19: 'Thought I was gonna die'

Quote
JOE Devance is the latest PBA player to share that he has tested positive for COVID-19, thankful that he has since made a full recovery.

The veteran Ginebra forward gave a very personal account of his tough ordeal in his popular YwouTube account, admitting there was a point where he felt 'I was gonna die.'

"Last night was rough. I didn't think I was going to make it out alive. I even sent a message to my wife cause I thought I was gonna die," Devance shared in the video.

Let us take this problem seriously, avoid going out if possible as even the healthy man who keeps his body fit has felt how strong this virus is. I'm happy that he has survived from covid-19, and happier that he shares his experience.

Meanwhile, looks like have have some good news here.

PBA targeting June 15 opening, says Ginebra governor Alfrancis Chua

This is great news, finally, they have given a probable date on when PBA will start, Chua is influential in the PBA, he will not release a statement that is not probable, so let's be excited waiting for the season to start. They have over a month to sort everything so they can smoothly run a new season.

Banchero has been traded in Phoenix for Calvin Abueva, there's no sense if they will trade Wright when they already got someone who can help Wright. Anyway, these are just rumors, let's don't take it seriously, I'm sure they need at least one season to test if their decisions were working.

If both stars for Wright which really demanding for the said trade, Personally i'll go with it. Jalalon is a great player he can adjust though like what you have said about Lee, he's aging and prone to more injuries but he still have it.

He still got the game, if he like this trade and the value of exchange is acceptable I mean the amount of money that he'll earn from it, for sure he'll grab it.

It's all about balance and how the trade will be discuss, for now it's rumors and we will only see if things materialized after the formal aanouncement coming from both camps.

Maybe it will make the Phoenix stronger, Wright is used to playing like a one-man game, all the attention is on him but if he will play with the Hotspots, it's a different play as the coach are carefully managing the time of the players, they have a good rotation and most likely the stats of Wright will drop if he can't adjust to the team. One example is Banchero, he was so good with the Alaska Aces but when he played with the Hotspots, he wasn't as effective as he was with Alaska.

Phoenix is a strong contender with Vic Manuel in the roster but there is a big problem for the team now as Matthew Wright demanded a trade and if the management won't heed for his demand, he threatens to go back to the States for good.

Rumors had it the Magnolia is interested of Wrights service and they are planning to let go of Paul Lee and Jalalon.

Hope these are all just rumors and Wright will remain with Phoenix.
Sometimes, a rumor becomes a reality Cheesy. I still remember when there are rumors spreading regarding CStan-Greg trade and one year after, it happen Cheesy.

I'm just thinking of this rumor and if Magnolia will manage to get Wright then they will be a better team (Barroca, Wright, Abueva, Corpuz, Sangalang or Reavis at Center as their starting 5). They got Abueva and now they will get Wright (if this will happen). I'm thinking that he demanded for a trade because they traded Abueva which is a good addition to the team.

so my three team would be Ginebra, SMB and Meralco, can't wait for the upcoming bubble season.

Actually, based on my own rankings, Phoenix should be on my 3rd but Calvin Abueva was already traded even they already offered a max contract to him.

Some say it was because of the financial capability of the company so they need to let go some of their high-paid players. Phoenix FuelMasters was one of the top performers in the bubble last year, climbs up to standings surprisingly, and I think they can handle well those top SMC and MVP teams. But without Abueva, that was hard to do.

Don't forget that when they lose Calvin Abueva, they had Manuel now. I believe that Manuel although not as good as Abueva but he can contribute to the team in terms of defense and offense, and his experience is big for the team. There's a lot of new teams this season, I'm really excited if those trades and acquisition did really help a team, and see on what team is successful.

Jalalon is a big help, but of course, if they will get Wright, I think he is better than Paul...however, they need to sacrifice Jalalon on that.. not a good idea IMO. I guess they have to stay at the current line up, observe first if they will have an improvement now that they already have Calvin Abueva.

There's not specific date yet, but I believe it will be soon.
Yes, no specific date yet but the way the development is going, it looks like it could happen anytime soon, if not this month it will probably be next month. They are working on it, we can expect a positive result from their effort. The first step, get a go signal from IATF, then everything will follow.
Let's leave the schedule on a surprise so that it won't look like we're waiting forever for the date. But, it's a sure thing that it will come anytime.
This is just the feeling when we're excited to see the league back in action in these hard times.
We were already excited from the very start of the year, we expect a regular set up and yet it looks like we still end up with another bubble. At least we started early this year, not bad at all as we might witness two conferences which are better than the previous year.

Just be patient, I'm sure PBA is doing everything to start the season.
Well, things have changed and the set date wasn't able to follow because of the situation and that's very understandable. They know how excited we are so they are.
There's no doubt that they're doing everything to make this setup happen and we guess that we're having the season into another bubble setup.

There's no argument that coach Austria really did a very good job on towing SMB to a record 6 consecutive AFC title and we have to give credit for that but i'm also imagining what if it is coach Tim Cone that handle the career of Junemar. I remember him saying that he love to coach JMF and even introduced the gentle giant to the Dallas Mavs scout to see if he have the potential to play in the NBA. Like i've said, one or two grand slams for SMB if coach Tim did the coaching job of SMB, just my thought  Smiley.

Both are good coach, but IMO, coach Tim is the better coach here since every team he handles, he always give success. AFAIR, he handles, Alaska, Magnolia and now Ginebra, he won a championship in that teams.

I'm just waiting for the Ginebra to win a grandslam with his mentorship! Remember those days with Alaska's triangle offense then after that shifting to B-meg and bring another grandslam to his portfolio.

We can all say that JMF is one a kind talent, a gentle soft giant who can do move around and take a good shots, simplicity of his game made him more interesting to watch, the fact that Coach Leo manage him approriately also give credit to his coaching skills.

But I also agree, Maybe if Coach Tim mentor JMF with the full cast players behind him, maybe another grand-slam is now being added to his coaching career.
