Hopefully Don Trollano's career will be better under his original mentor.
NLEX needed a guy who work on both offense and defense with hard work, this is a great acquisition by the NLEX as they lack on defense.

VETERAN guard Don Trollano feels like he’s starting all over again after being reunited with the mentor who gave him his break in the PBA.

The 29-year-old wingman welcomes his get-together with coach Yeng Guiao after being acquired by NLEX in a complex, three-team trade approved by the league on Thursday.

Trollano has improved tremendously through his first five seasons as a pro since being picked in the second round (No. 15 overall) by Rain or Shine in the 2015 draft.

That's an awesome news  for Trollano, this might be a good chance to work with his former mentor, it won't be hard for both of them to work again.

Coach Yeng knows how Trollano work and with a lots of improvements from this guy, the team will surely benefits from this trade.

His been given this new chance and for sure he won't disappoint he's new family!

Kiefer could possibly leave the PBA.

Guiao confirms Kiefer weighing 'really good offer' from Japan team

For me this is good so the PBA will wake up that they are not offering a competitive salary, if all our good players will play abroad then PBA would become boring, Kiefer should go for the benefit of the league.  Cheesy
This is also good for the other aspiring new PBA players, if someone like Kiefer will come out and will take offers abroad, this will open opportunity for the other players that are waiting to be drafted.

For me, the only downside here is the quality of PBA will decline because the best players are getting good offers abroad and for the sake of money they'll grab it. Let's take it for example, JMF, if he gets an equivalent of at least 1 million pesos monthly salary playing abroad, I think he will grab it if he choose money over the love of the league, these are just possibilities so it could happen.

Good point mate.

PBA will be drained of high-quality players if this situation won't be addressed. We just know for sure what's the agreement between Keifer and that Japan team on the number of years/months that he will play for them but if it's long-term then I think some players would follow Keifer.

But on the bright side, I think it could also open opportunities to some players to play in the PBA to fill the spot left by players leaving.

Let's see how the commissioner's office would react to this situation.

The only way to address this is to increase the salary of the PBA players especially the superstars. At the end of the day, it's just like an "employer/employee" relationship and if an employee is looking for a greener pasture, the employer can't stop him for trying to improve his lifer for a better opportunity.

This also tells us that the brand of basketball in the Philippines have already grown, we are now a world class.

It's not only about the offer but also the exposure that they'll get. They might get better offers after they take those opportunities from different countries that are also scouting good players. They use that opportunity to get a better offer that they can work on which is what most of the PBA players are dreaming of. Not just also about the high salary but the benefits for sure are better than what PBA can offer.

Whatever is the decision of the team and the management, he can't go against what they've planned for.
He already signed a new contract, any violation of the contract will have a serious consequences.
Yup, that's a serious breach of contract if he ever goes against it. But I don't think he'll do that, it's his career and livelihood that's at stake.

Since MVP does not only own a big teams in the PBA, i think @bisdak is correct that SMC group would also do the same.
MVP and SMC are long time rivals already in PBA and some are thinking that the league itself rotates on these 2 companies only and those independent teams?? Hmmmmm
Anyway, thanks to MVP since he will donate dozes of Aztrazeneca to the players and officials.

If you may, I find another interesting topic aside from the Ray Parks issue Cheesy. Looks like after getting Standhardinger from NorthPort, SMC is eyeing to get Bollick now but this time on SMB. Ginebra got CStan and now SMB wants Bollick. Any takeaways with this?? I think it is just a rumor though but we know how credible this person is Cheesy

Why all the good players are going to SMB, BGSM, and TNT?

I admire both players Bollick and Perez, they played well during their Rookie season and if only Bollick was not injured, he maybe able to show his strength to help his team. He will be a big help to the SMB to become a better team and this is a good place for him as this team is the favorites to with the championship so most probably players will work harder to get a bonus.
Add the fact that SMB's star players are at the age of 30's already, they really need a young superstar. They got Perez already and now they want more young superstars and Bollick could really be a big help for the team to retain its current position right now as a championship contender.

Why they are going to those 3 teams?? Money is the only thing that I see why they are trading players. Another one possibly would be their performance. Bollick injured and didn't play for a long time thus, he can't help his team anymore. I just hope that if Bollick will continue to go to SMB, he will not be that prone to injuries anymore.

Kiefer could possibly leave the PBA.

I can call this the "Thirdy Effect" Cheesy.

What they only need is one player who has the initiative to go and play outside the country so that other players will follow him. Thirdy did it and now his brother Kiefer will be the next one. There is a possibility in the future that other star players here in the country might choose to play outside the country because of salary rather than playing in PBA. Cheesy Still a good decision for him though. Additional experience for him.

He cannot do that, as a player the management has the right to trade if they see they will be getting a better player in exchange. That is purely business, nothing stays in a team forever, unless he will not change and continue to impress the management, in the case of Greg, he was as explosive as he was when during his early years in the Ginebra San Miguel.
I get it thank you, but don't you think that it is a little bit scummy that the player has no say as to what the management decides because I think that it is unfair.
We don't know who is telling the truth, he made his statement then we will have to wait until the Ginebra will make theirs too. It's hard to speculate, the deal is already done, C. Stand going to play with the Ginebra while Slaugher going to North Port, hopefully this will not become a big issue and he will just focus on his new team.

But the trade happened, so the management was lying to him so they can sign him and trade right away?

Slaughter says there was no trade on the table upon his return
So Greg Slaughter was basically thrown under the bus and didn't have the liberty to even consider the trade. Can he sue the management for that non-consented trade?
He can't.
What if there's a statement under his contract in his former team that he can be traded anytime the management of the team desires? He has no option with such trades but to just go elsewhere he's traded by his team or should we call, company.

There's always legal basis before things happened, if that trade isn't there with his contract he can always sue his team, but I doubt that it isn't there knowing how big SMC was.

Greg knows about it and he might have no other options instead of not playing he accepted the fact that it's already his fate being traded to another team, the very chance to ends up his career.

Better  than nothing maybe, if you love the sport you'll continue to play to whatever team you might be moving.
Yes, you'll play no matter what team you're being traded off. And you have no option since you're tied with the contract and the PBA itself is the corporation where all of the players are their employees.
Whatever is the decision of the team and the management, he can't go against what they've planned for.

Yup, as a professional basketball player he should understand that the PBA is purely business and he can be traded anytime if he can't deliver what was expected of him.

ATM, it is only the name Junemar Fajardo who is secured as far as trading is concern but it would change the moment his skills decline in the coming years.

Or it could be Greg Slaughter was the one lying  Grin.

Even before he went to the states, rumors were already there that he will be traded. The moment C-Stand was traded to NorthPort, is the time the rumors started. As we can notice, his playing time decreased and he was way off as far as his play is concern, he was not the usual Greg Slaughter that we knew.
