Kelly Williams career is not yet over.

Kelly Williams making PBA comeback after signing two-year TnT deal

Another two years, I hope this season he will stay healthy and if he will get injured, he will not suffer a serious injury.
He has been a big help for the success of the TNT, he's 39 years old but he can still contribute a lot to the team.

This is a great news, I'm happy for this, as long as Kelly is on the floor, I can feel the energy of the TNT. He is a veteran, although not as good as he was before defensively but I agree that he can still contribute to the team.

Kelly Williams is a high flyer when he was still young, Jayson and him had some good communication in the court with some alley-oop shots. Those days, I really miss the TNT's competitive attitude which I don't see it in the past few seasons.

Back when he still with Sta.Lucia he's really dominating in every space that's been provided to him, he can shoot outside and kill you inside with so much power.

Moving to TnT, he bring that energy and like what you have said, he and castro have a good chemistry as castro trust him a  lot.

Can't say but to agree with your last statement, TnT is not the same for the past seasons but knowing now that Coach Chot is there
to lead them again, there are lots to expect with their performace.

Also maybe the reason why Kelly signed for another 2 years as coach Chot knows him enough to help their rally.

Does anyone have an idea of what will be the set up this season? Still a bubble on a single venue or what?
I forgot that the article that I've read about the setup is going to be the same as the bubble again. Although there is a vaccine already, it's limited to be in the public or maybe that the PBA management have already bought their own secretly but I doubt that can happen.
The only option is still in a bubble until everyone and the public can avail to have the vaccine.
When did you read that article? Maybe that article is already outdated.

Things have changed a lot already, vaccine area available and this is not only for the public, I'm sure the PBA can afford to get their players vaccinated so they will not worry anymore of a possible pause of the season, there are plenty of vaccines coming and some are delivered already, if an ordinary individual will be given, I guess these pba players will get theirs as well.
I can't remember but that was months ago if I remember correctly. The vaccine that has come to us isn't open for the public, the vaccine that shall be open to the public is estimated going to arrive by May and the start of the season is by next month. I don't think that they'll be able to do that. And the ones that ordered the vaccines that are set to arrive are for the government front liners and essential workers, athletes I think, they're not on the priority list unless they'll be given doses for the teams and staff. Just as the issue today, there are choosy people that won't go with the sinovac but, astrazeneca is about to come.

I'm also curious about this article as if PBA will proceed with the same setup with the last bubble, the business again will be at loss. though there's no other option. If there's no available vaccine for everyone mass gathering like watching games inside coliseum most probably won't happen, The virus still active and for sure the government will not allow any participations of audiences from any live games.

Going to wait for any final updates reagrding to this upcoming season, for sure the management will provide detailed information before the league will proceed.
Just around 1 month and a few days before the season starts. We only have to wait until the PBA announces if the setup will be the same bubble again.
But as guessed by most, it would probably be in a bubble as if it's not, they'll have to conduct anti gen test everytime a match comes. And that would be costly for the management because a lot of staff have to go through with testing and it will be shouldered by the league and the same as the teams and their staff.

The season will commence on April 9, 2021, this is just one month + from today. We will surely get more updates as the start is approaching and hopefully not the same bubble as bubble is boring and does not give players a chance to visit their family, which they will be less motivated and less inspired to play.

Can he?

Chris Gavina wants to see 'Big Game' James back to his very best

I think this is too much job for him to accomplish, James cannot go back to his old self since he is aging, he can still contribute somehow but we can't expect a complete old James performance to still be done by him.

I guess Gavina should be more focus on the team than on individual player.

~snip~
More than a month to go before the opening and as for the current status, I believed we will now see PBA in their usual setup. There was a meeting done last February 26 but no information was given to the public yet about some of the things they have discussed.

Maybe you are right, PBA will be back to normal setup as vaccines are already arriving and PBA teams are willing to shoulder the cost on vaccinating their players and staff, so good news to us basketball fanatics  Smiley.

Rumors about the impending trade between Cstand and Greg Slaughter is back alive again on social media.

Cstand have not been practicing with NorthPort as the management already talked to him about the trade while Coach Tim Cone will talk to Greg about the matter today.

Damn social media gossips lol....

Sometimes it's reliable, probably we will see another big news in the coming days or weeks that C. Stand is already traded to Ginebra. They are really serious with winning and they know their only chance is to improve their lineup in order to have a better chance on betting the favorite team in the PBA which is the SMB.

Does anyone have an idea of what will be the set up this season? Still a bubble on a single venue or what?

Almost a month ago now where Marcial stated that another bubble setup is possible.

However, that was the time when there's no clear path if Manila will be reconsidered shifting to MGCQ (until March 1) and there's no update about the vaccine. With the latest restriction, Pres. Duterte still places Manila on GCQ even IATF and Metro Manila Mayors are now agreed to an MGCQ restriction in Manila. The GCQ will last a month as usual but there will be changes if vaccines will be distributed to the country. We all know that Sinovac donated 600,000 doses and the target by Pres. Duterte is at least 2M doses before considering lifting up the restriction but got a problem because of Astrazeneca's news yesterday about out of stock.

No official update but likely with the lessen quarantine striction in all regions of the country, and vaccine are now started to roll out, I think they will go back into playing on their usual venue.

Don't know if the audience will be allowed but maybe they will copy NBA's system as always wherein there's a limited audience.

This is what I also see with the current update, I'm sure more and more people will get vaccinated and these people will be allowed to enter in the premise for limited audience. We have no choice but to slowly recover from this pandemic and we should not allow it to stop us, life must still go on.

We follow the NBA implementation or rules, would be easier for us.

They deserve this.

PBA staff to get Press Corps recognition for successful bubble season

When something bad happen particularly on the Blackwater team where was a news that one player could be infected with covid-19 but good thing it was false alarm and the bubble continues. After we waited for long due to the pandemic, we are happy to see the PBA back although in bubble style, no fans but what's important is they were able to deliver joy to the Filipino fans.

It's not just the PBA staff, they should also recognize the sacrifices of every player and Team staff who are in the bubble. Being away from the family for months is agony and thanks to God they overcome that without too much trouble.

I think the management are just using that excuse to make Garcia still feel better, ROS has not been doing good in the past conference and we know that, that time Garcia was still focus with coaching the team,

The ROS management makes sense with their reason why they replace Garcia. FIBA will take a couple of years in the making because of the pandemic. Unlike before, Garcia can manage his time with ROS and the National team but that will be different today as starting from qualifiers, schedules will be tough as we all know the PH team got a ticket to replace New Zealand in FIBA OQT. And delays might happen too along the way because of the pandemic.

Well, don't know if there's an "issue" we don't know behind the doors but at least ROS now has an assurance that their newly appointed coach will be focus on the team. After all, Garcia will still remain as their consultant.

Hopefully there's no issue on this,  Garcia being still part of the team is something good to know but we don't know yet how he feels getting replace as the head coach as for sure he can't come back anymore if his obligation with the Philippine team is over.

His role now is just Mark Dickel of TNT?

Rain or Shine has a new Head coach.

Rain or Shine owners explain decision to hand Gavina the coaching reins

Will this make the Rain or Shine better this season?

Based on the article, Garcia was not really fired, I believe he is still part of the coaching staff but this changes was made since Garcia is working with the national team as part of the coaching staff and they don't want that distraction on their campaign this coming season.

I think the management are just using that excuse to make Garcia still feel better, ROS has not been doing good in the past conference and we know that, that time Garcia was still focus with coaching the team, so it's safe to presume that the management are not happy with his performance as a coach.

Maybe but the decision was already made and there's a new man to coach the team.

Same thing happen with the Phoenix and Alaska, their new assistant coach has become the Heat coach because the management wants to see something. For Alaska, it looks like a bad decision but for Phoenix, I guess the management was right since when coach Topex handle the Phoenix, it was playing well in the bubble.
