Yes, Group G is the most interesting and Norway, Turkey and Montenegro have 3 points each and the Netherlands are in 5th which I think the Dutch play is very complex and good against Turkey and but lost 4-2.
and statistically the Netherlands are also superior, especially in possession of the ball and I will see what changes in the next Dutch game and have to win it.

Statistically and as per the ranking from FIFA, Netherlands is far ahead of all the other teams in Group G. Their performance was pathetic yesterday, but that doesn't mean that they don't have any chance to top the group. 9 matches remain for Netherlands and they will face Turkey again on 7th September. It is too early to say that Netherlands is currently at the bottom of the points table. The situation is going to change.

a lot of interesting matches yesterday, skipped betting due to other activities, but looking at scores, nothing unusual, maybe Slovenia win over Croatia is a bit unexpected, and would give them a bit harder time to qualify, with Russia and Slovakia there as well
France did not win home match with Ukraine, but these two are clear favorites in their group, so does not matter that much
Serbia scored important win over Ireland, after early goal by Ireland, but Mitrovic scored two goals to overturn the score in the second half, will be interesting as well, with Portugal in the group

Portugal was also unimpressive against Azerbaijan, but they have three points. Now both Serbia and Portugal have 3 points each with same goal difference. Ireland and Azerbaijan at a disadvantage here. In Group D, both the matches ended in draw and therefore four teams have one point each - France, Ukraine, BiH, and Finland. Group H is unclear, because Russia got 3 points against minnows Malta and Slovenia got 3 against Croatia. Next round will get the clear picture.

The most interesting group is G, and now Norway and Turkey are on top with 3 points each. Montenegro also got three points against Latvia. Netherlands has reasons to be worried.

Slovenia-Croatia was really interesting, yes. Croatia actually played much better after conceding the goal but they couldn't manage to score.
France surprised me very much by not being able to defeat Ukraine. It was actually an easy match for them but they were terrible on finding the target (3/18).
Serbia-Ireland was a great match. Serbia made an awesome comeback and managed to defeat them 3-2.

I watched match between Slovenia and Croatia.
Honestly, it was a really hard to watch, boring match without much excitement and action.
Croatia put pressure on Slovenia's defence and attacked but had no solution on how to break slovenian defence and score.
It is already known that Croatia has problems in small matches against opponents who are just defending.
France probably just had a bad day and I believe Serbia is on track to return to the top of world football with a new coach.

Türkiye was so good today and even though the match started very slow it turned around to a six goals game. First goal of Burak Yılmaz was a lucker, it wasn't a powerful shot but Netherlands defender change the direction of ball. Second goal was a cheap penalty, I don't know what Netherlands defence think about doing that move in penalty area. They deserved that loss with that play. Second half was better for fans, we watched more attacks and faster game. I don't think this win is a surprise, Türkiye's squad is better than Netherlands. If they finish first that would be only normal consequence.
Netherlands was pathetic yesterday. During the injury time, they got a penalty kick and Memphis Depay wasted it. If they had scored, they would have taken the score to 4-3 and might have had enough time to pull one more to make it 4-4. In the second half, they managed to score twice in two minutes (Davy Klaassen and Luuk de Jong), but then once again ran out of gas after Hakan Calhanoglu scored the 4th goal for Turkey.

The Turkey vs Netherlands match did create a lot of goals, but it was very painful for me as a Netherlands supporter. I agree that the Netherlands
plays very badly, conceding 4 goals is not something that can be accepted by me as a Netherlands supporter. The Netherlands game was
very bad, especially at the back. Especially in the Netherlands back line it could not stop the Turkish players,  they easily entered the Netherlands
defense. Although the Netherlands controlled the ball possession, but it could not make the Netherlands win the match. As a Dutch supporter,
I have to admit that the Netherlands deserves to lose. Hopefully the next match Netherlands can improve the quality of its game.

Frank de Boer need to select some better players. He keep on selecting older players who arent playing that often at their club. Why keeping Babel in the team??

Most of the games of yesterday ended as predicted with the stronger teams winning their games.A few exceptions for me was the lost game of Netherlands and also that of Croatia.Today games looks easy on paper too and I think there is money to be made here.

The Netherlands defense was in bad shape. They had almost 65% possession and after Burak Yılmaz scored the first goal the Dutch were so desperate to make the scores level that they ignored their own defense. On top of that the Dutch defenders took out their frustration in the form of fouls. And that gave Turkey the second goal in the form of penalty kick. And when Netherlands got the penalty kick, they wasted it.

Portugal made 29 shots yet (14 on target), the biggest number of the evening yet. That's the same numbers as Norway who won 0-3 against Gibraltar. I don't understand how they could score only one goal(an own goal moreover) with 29 shots and 10 corners.

Common situation with Portugal ... when playing with theoretically very weak teams, you cannot have the right motivation to score many goals.

Portugal won only 1-0 with Azerbaijan. My expectation was a victory with at least 3 goals, Azerbaijan is over rank 100 in the world.
Whatever 3 good points for them.

Belgium won too.

The big news is a victory for Norway 3-0..... WITHOUT HAALAND goals  Grin Cheesy

Slava Ukraini!
France -Ukraine was good game to watch. I think that France started 2nd half a bit sleepy and it let Ukraine to get some confidence. And when Ukraine scored their goal, France literally stopped to playing on that attack in defense.
Portugal made 29 shots and 15 shots on target, but only managed to win after Azerbaijan own goal.
Cyprus - Slovakia draw was little surprise for me.
And Slovenia win against Croatia, well before game I said that I don't expect Croatia win, despite that they were favorites according to bookmakers.

The bad thing about these matches in the Qualification is that there is no VAR used.
And seems that referees don't know how to work without VAR anymore.

France scored, was offside from Pavard I think.
Great idea not using Var.

1-0 so far
Yes but Ukraine has also scored too unfortunately Tongue at the 57', an own goal from Kimpembe precisely (the first french goal was from Griezmann at 19'). 10 minutes to go before the end of the 90' now

1-1 so far

Croatia started very badly in defense of the world silver medal from Russia 2018.
After the first half, they losing 1:0 from Slovenia with a very bad game.
I hope they wake up in the second half.
Modric is probably the best player in the match but that is not enough.

From tomorrow games I don't see any particular interesting game to watch on Tv.The stronger teams are playing against weaker ones so in theory they should win.I am not going to bet though as surprises have happened all the time in the qualifiers.
I would say Spain versus Greece could be something that would be positively entertaining. Sure Spain is the favorites for that game but that doesn't change the fact that we could actually have something that is entertaining in our hands.

Germany and Iceland game could be fun as well, I know that Germany is a team that's unlike any other and they have always been that way, there is even a saying called "football is a game played by 22 people and won by Germans" in our language, so that is why I think Germany is clear favorites there as well but Iceland is a weird team that could lose to faroa islands but beat Germany, they are really unexpectedly good whenever they play a good team. So I think those two would be good, I would say it would take a while, but it would actually be fun to watch and I will be doing that as much as I can if I can get some time off from work.
