Are the events will be streamed? I could not go to the venues because of my busy work schedule but I would love to watch it on live stream, especially basketball events.
Idk but let's hope that the game will be streamed in the television so we can watch and be updated on the sea games.

There will be a live stream of all the games including esports in the ABS CBN Sports channel. Also, there will be also a live stream on Social media so let's tune in and support our athletes!

The current opening ceremony was live on ABS CBN and I think the organizing committee has a partnership already with ABS CBN channel to broadcast the games on 30th SEA GAMES.  Wink

weeks before it was announced that Senator Manny Pacquiao will be the one who's lighting the cauldron and it was expected.

but you know what?i don't expect the scene that Manny will just comes out that surprise and like everyone i am also shocked and proud because the looks of Manny you can see the Toughness and Dedication of being a Pinoy.

i am proud and Heads up of being a Filipino
I was already expecting Manny to light the torch. It was in the news weeks back that he would be the one doing it. Congratulations on a successful opening ceremony. With all the showcase in the ceremony, I am proud to be a Filipino.

I'm not informed about the SEA games but even though we knew it was him that will light the cauldron, it's really goosebumps and make us hype when he show himself in the television. We're being proud for being a Filipino! padayon!

Might add this picture as well.... this is the legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao who is holding the torch to lighten up the cauldron. When I am watching this scene, it is very goosebumps because I didn't expect that pacman is there going to the cauldron. It makes me really proud for being a Filipino because of what I saw on today's 30th South East Asian Games.

Yeah, I was shocked when Manny Pacquiao appeared in the middle of the path for the cauldron. I agree that it makes me proud of being a Filipino despite having a lot of issues from the start. This is what we called development through mistakes, the organizers prove that the issues regarding the 30THSEA GAMES are wrong and now they made an event that really makes us proud. Very extravagant!

It's also in the history that the 30th Sea Games happened in the Philippines and lightened up by our famous Senator which is a legendary boxer, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.

There just many negatrons that posted the preparation, now they see the reality on how amazing the Sea Games is, the expectations vs reality post were everywhere and even athletes from different countries were impressed. Let's hope for a successful Sea games as well a winning for PH.

Who do you think will bring home the most number of Medals this time?
Of course I will go to the Philippines as it is my country and my home, I believe that the Pinoys will be the one who will bring the bacon and the gold medals in the 30th South East Asian games. Especially in esports, I believe that the team of dota2, mobile legends, starcraft, tekken that provides by the sibol will get the gold medal in terms of esports. I also believe that Efren Bata Reyes will still play good right now although he already has a very high age. The Philippines has a lot of chance to bring many medals as they mention that Philippines has a lot of athletes that will compete on the said competition.

30th South East Asian Games
Opening Ceremony

Here are the pictures of the amazing opening ceremony held in the Philippines. There are too many overwhelming opening performances from our fellow citizens to welcome the other countries here in PH. The opening of 30th SEA GAMES made us appreciate our culture and most especially our OPM which truly represents the uniqueness of us Filipinos in music.

Let us support each of our own athletes that represents our country and hoping to have a fair and good match until the end of the 30TH SEA GAMES. GOOD DAY TO ALL~ THIS IS THE BEAUTY OF THE PHILIPPINES.

But there is little I want to discuss or people have already said this. That the host of the Games was very chaotic and lacking preparation. You can find everything on Twitter. That some things were not prepared in full by the Philippines.
Hello there, on behalf of all of us, I'm sorry. Yeah in my perspective I admit that there are really lack of prepararions but I'm very sure that everything is still under control. You propably heard of the issues about some of the venues still under construction, the struggles of other country players on hotel receptions, lack of quality of food and the overpriced cauldron; all of those things are true; however if you heard or see few articles about a very worst case scenario which seems hard to believe in then probably it's a fake news. I don't know why our fellow do this kind of shit but most probably it's because of black propaganda against the Duterte administration (just my opinion).

Should be the discussion about the bad organizers (according to the media publication) stopped and start discussing the sports itself.

Nice to see my country won the first gold medal in the Philippine Sea Games after winning from Malaysia in men's water polo, Singapore has dominated this sports.

That's what I mentioned already which I think some making issue more louder and louder. Congrats to youre country sportsmen for winning the first Gold anyway, the Olympics has just started and based on all medals have won during the entire season of Seagames. I'm still rooting for our country to win this, though many bad publications have been set to us.

If it's badminton, bet on Indonesia.
I have not followed badminton for some years but when I did, Indonesia and Malaysia dominated this sport out of all the SEA countries. I believe they have good development program so I expect that either of the team will win the SEAG again.

Delegates from both countries have also been competing against the Chinese team for years.
Not only in badminton, but with most of the games these two countries have been making themselves to be strong contenders. When it comes to play against China they give hard competence. Such games conducted based on the regions makes more sportsmen get recognized.

I just read the news that there is a looming storm coming in venues of the game.

So for sure this will be affected the athletes here so there might be surprises in the medal standings in the early goings of the game.

I do not think that it will affect the standing. It will only affect the scheduling of the games if it cannot be played in the scheduled venue. The organizer of the SEA games already has plans if this occurs.

I just read the news that there is a looming storm coming in venues of the game.

Quote
MANILA (UPDATE) — A typhoon churning closer to the venues of the Southeast Asian Games in Luzon will follow the same track as storms Glenda and Reming which left scores dead several years ago, the state weather bureau said Friday.

Typhoon Kammuri was 1,470 kilometers east of southern Luzon at 10 a.m., packing maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour and 170 kph gusts, said PAGASA.

The storm will be named Tisoy when it enters the Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday or Sunday, said PAGASA weather specialist Raymond Ordinario. The 30th edition of the biennial games will be opened formally on Saturday.

From Tuesday, the storm will bring strong winds and rains to Southern and Central Luzon and Metro Manila, which are all home to SEA Games venues, he said.

I choose Indonesia.  Indonesia has the potential to bring more medals at the SEA Games.  Indonesia has several opportunities in various branches, but that draws attention to the Football branch, Indonesia won 2/0 in a match against Singapura.  Indonesia also has the opportunity to add a medal in the badminton branch.

All I know is, if it's bowling, bet on Malaysia. If it's badminton, bet on Indonesia.
I don't follow these kind of sports, so I have no idea which countries are really good.

However, if we are talking about basketball, for sure the Philippines will dominate in SEA games, my basis is they have great standing in FIBA Asia, so they will do better here fore sure.
If it's basketball, bet on the Philippines!

Of course those 11 countries, they are all Southeast Asia;)

Have to say I don't know much about this, I have been living in a few countries there most of my life but always moving around and no time to really soak in the culture even though I myself am Asian.

All I know is, if it's bowling, bet on Malaysia. If it's badminton, bet on Indonesia. If it's basketball, bet on the Philippines!
